Gamma Axel shoots me a somewhat amused look as I continue to shake my head in denial. “No. I can’t duel with him?”“Why not?”“That stung.” Alpha Killian complains as he takes a step closer to me. “Why don’t you want to have your first duel with me?” He asks with genuine curiosity.“Because you are going to kill me!” I cry out loud in frustration. What the hell is Gamma Axel thinking pairing me to duel with the Lycan King? I thought he liked me.“It’s just a duel, why would you assume something so extreme? Do I look like a murderer?” He asks softly and a pang of guilt hits my chest, causing me to release a ragged breath.“I didn’t mean it that way.” I say in a small apologetic voice. “What I’m trying to say is that my fighting skills are no match for yours. Dueling with me would be nothing but a complete waste of your time. Why don’t you duel with the other soldiers? I’m sure they’l
WILLOW’S POV“Gamma Axel.” I call and do a curt bow the moment I walk into the training arena.“Hello, Willow. You’ve arrived.”“Yes, I have.”“Did I tell you?” He asks as I turn to head to the bench to keep my bag. I stop and look back at him.“Tell me what?”“Come with me.” He says simply and starts for the door. Without a word, I follow his lead out of the arena down the long hallway and at the end, he takes a left turn and soon, we are both standing in an even bigger training arena. Unlike the one we just vacated, there are other people in this one, all of whom are men. Some of which are still unpacking their bags, while others are gearing up to commence with training. The moment they notice Gamma Axel, they all stop and greet him while bowing, before riding on with what they are doing.“You are welcome to your new training arena”I whip my head in Gamma Axel’s way and shoot him an anxious look. What the hell does he mean by that?“Huh?” I ask, confused.“You’ve been able to maste
WILLOW’S POVNone of the girls dared to stop me again after that short fight and I did my laundry in peace. By six pm, I’m all freshened up and heading to the main castle to serve Alpha Killian. Like always, I’m praying in my heart not to meet Eleanor or Astrid on the way because I know any interaction with them right now is going to ruin my evening.“Willow!” A voice shouts out my name, stopping me in tracks. It’s a masculine voice, so I’m not too bothered as I turn around because I know it’s neither Astrid nor Eleanor, but my mood turns sour when my eyes fall on the person. It’s Josh, the cheater and he’s rushing towards me, wearing an arrogant smile. I roll my eyes hard and groan in exasperation when he stops in front of me.“Josh, if this is about what happened earlier, drop it. I do not want to sleep with you.”“You know what I don’t get? The fact that you had to go to such lengths to get my attention, only for you to start acting hard to get afterwards. This makes absolutely no
WILLOW'S POVI pick up my basket from the floor to leave.“And where do you think you are going with that?”“Did you suddenly go blind? Or are you just slow?”“There’s no machine for you to use.”“I see six machines and five of you. That leaves one for me.”“I’m already using two.”“You can’t use two when I need one.” She folds her arms over her breasts and shoots me a daring look.“Says whom?” I push her aside, making her stumble behind me and walk over to the free machine. The machine closest to it is spinning and I presume that’s hers. I can feel each and everyone of their eyes boring holes into various parts of my body as I place my laundry basket on the machine to start sorting my laundry.“Didn’t you hear what I just said? I’m using both machines, so leave!” Joana insists as she comes over to meet me again. I hate the sound of her voice. It’s like the sound a mosquito makes once the light in the room gets switched off.“Not anymore.” My attention is focused on the laundry I’m tr
WILLOW’S POVOne more thing that impresses me about the servant quarters and living arrangements is the fact that each floor of the building has not only got its own bathroom, but laundry room as well and there’s also a roaster that has to be followed so that there are no clashes in the laundry room when people want to do their laundry. Only six people are allowed to do laundry at a time, since there are six laundry machines in the room and they are responsible for keeping it clean and spotless on that day.Alpha Killian might be an asshole, but there's no doubt that he loves his people regardless of what they do for a living and he makes sure they are all comfortable wherever they are. He’s a kind leader.“Look who we have here.” A voice chimes the moment I step into the laundry room. I stop in my tracks and look around and as expected, there are five girls in the room. They have abandoned their tasks and are now shooting me angry, disgusted glares.“The boyfriend snatcher. I can’t b
WILLOW’S POV“My Lord, Miss Eleanor is here to see you.”“Eleanor?” I ask in surprise, looking up to meet my secretary’s gaze.“Yes, My Lord.”I lean against my seat, sighing in frustration as I contemplate whether to approve for her to come on or send her away. What could Eleanor possibly want to discuss with me that has her coming all the way here? I cannot think of a single important thing she might want to report to me.“Send her in” I give in after a long moment of contemplating. It’s better I get this over with right now. My secretary leaves the office and I sit upright to wait for Eleanor who walks in moments later, looking like she has the entire weight of the world on her shoulders.“Good day, My Lord.” She greets with a low bow, but I say nothing. I keep my gaze transfixed on her as she walks over to my work space and takes a seat on the chair across from mine on the table. Her downcast expression now has me eager to hear what she’s here to say.“Why aren’t you saying anythi
KILLIAN’S POV“Axel is here to see me?” I ask my secretary in surprise.“Yes, My Lord. Should I send him in?”“Yes.”She does a graceful bow before exiting the office. I rise from my seat and go to stand by the transparent glass wall as I wait for Axel, feeling a little tense. He never comes over a
WILLOW’S POV“Have you two lost your minds? Fighting like immature toddlers, disrupting the peace of the entire castle.”Ma’am Katherine scolds and I nearly laugh out loud at her ridiculous exaggeration. This castle is gigantic and I doubt if the ruckus we caused back at the lounge disrupted the pe
WILLOW'S POVTHAT EVENING.“Are we going to talk about what happened this morning?”I ask Alpha Killian when I cannot deal with the suffocating tension in the room anymore.“What about it?”“What about it?” I ask, agitated. “You kissed me.”“So?” The nonchalance in his tone nearly makes me explode
WILLOW’S POV“Willow!”A shrill voice sounds my name from the garden entrance and I turn to see a girl in servant uniform, marching towards me, frowning like an angry bird. The girl soon stops in front of me and breathes heavily, shooting me a piercing glare. I wonder what I’ve done this time.“You
