Deception

Eternal darkness, to her left to her right in front of her, behind her. Even as the world around her was pitch black Delilah was aware of one thing.

Another presence was within her becoming alive, slowly. It felt like a second being one she was a bit familiar with.

She couldn't see anything around her, even as she waved her hands in front of her she was already aware that was a futile move as nothing was visible. She didn't even get back the vibration from the displacement of air from the movement.

Walking around would be futile too, for all she knew she could just be walking around endlessly without ever coming to a stop.

It wasn't something she was willing to risk as just the thought made her uneasy.

If this was what death felt like, peaceful, dark, silent and boring then it wasn't as she had imagined.
