DANTE
My heart stopped as I looked down at her body in the basement, she was unconscious, she looked like she was dead, but I knew too well that she couldn't, I could hear her soft intake of breath, but it was slow “Open the door” I ordered the guard and immediately pulled her from the ground, my body was completely folded and pressed into the ground, even if she was conscious, she couldn't go out on her own Anger raged within me as I carried her in my arm. Both her ankles were broken, and I couldn't see scars all over her body from healing. I was going to kill whoever thought it was a good idea to do this to my wife. I climbed the stairs and froze at the top as chills went down my spine and I need not be told that someone else was down here “Jake, take her to the hospital immediately” I put her into the guard's arms, and he ran, I closed the compartment door making the place look a bit, but I could see as clear as the day “… Do not make me find you, I know you're here” I perceived the person's faint scent as the person had covered his or her scent with a mask. I slight movement at the left made me pause, that wasn't footsteps, it was a distraction, and then I heard the stairs without thinking I bolt like light and my hand was against his throat I stared at his face and I knew he didn't belong here, the stench like a lab rat, my jaw came in contact with his jaw and blood immediately spilled from his house, my body shook in anger He had dared to touch my wife, almost kill her, knocking her out and… The thought had me slapping him across the face in repeat. His face slowly began to swell as the smug he kept on his face began to falter. “I'm going to ask you one question, and you're going to answer” He glared at me and I knew he needed more torture “All this for a weak woman?” He questioned and something snapped with me. My claws grew out, and I pierced through his skin, causing his bloody scream to fill the room, and it sounded like a melody I'll play on a violin. I pulled out, letting his health quietly before stabbing him over and over in the same place. “That woman! Is my wife! You drugged her and tortured her while she was unconscious because you knew she was going to eat you alive!” I growled and he flinched. His body healed the wound I had reopened many times before I clawed his face. I hated the mere sight of him, he had touched my wife, pushed her into an uncomfortable position. “Who sent you?” I growled, and he immediately pushed back to avoid more scares against his face. “His majesty, king victor” A chill down my spine, Victor hadn't even claimed the throne yet, and he was already baring my title I reached for the man's neck and snapped out off his body. Victor, I snarled at the mere thought of his name. I was going to kill that man, I didn't know how it was going to happen, but that man needed to be dead, as he was putting everything at risk not dying I will not risk my throne for anyone I ran up the stairs, letting his body rot in there as I closed the compartment, without thinking, I drove to the hospital at a high speed, following my wife, I knew words had reached the pack with the way everyone was looking at the car Pulling up and stepped out and walked into the hospital rushing, the receptionist pointed to the door down the hall as she screamed at someone over the phone I had always hated hospitals, there was always a discomfort even if I have been alive for more than a century, I have watched the people die and give birth, constant circle, but I fear the plague has come to do something worst, worst than the last one Pushing the open, I saw her taking to the nurse about pulling the wire from her “You have absolutely no patience” She looked at me and her features softened “Tell her to pull the tube, or I will” She sounded very irritated by the tube on her voice and I looked at the nurse, forcing her to get out of the room without removing the tube “The tube is keeping you health, wait a short while, and I'll pick it out myself” I walked close and without pulling the tube off I carried her from the bed and squeezed her tight “… He is dead” Her body stiffened then slowly began to relax. “After I left you, I was meant to head back to the dungeon, I don't know what happened next, it happened so fast, and I couldn't fight what I couldn't see before everything went blank, and I was unconscious” “I'm sorry I couldn't be there on time” She shook her head while I felt her tears against my shoulder blades and I held her tighter “It's not your fault, I did force you to bed right before” I chuckled knowing it was true before I pulled away “You would have died” “But I didn't” She laid back, trying to find her comfort on the bed before she relaxed “A few guards will stand at the door, while I go to deal with Sierra, we need answers and Victor is already claiming my position before he got it” She studied my features quietly before nodding “… What is it?” “Have no mercy upon her, do to her what you will do to Darren if he was in her place. Sierra is extremely stubborn and that's the only way you can get her to talk” “You don't have to worry, I have all under control love” I kissed her forehead and walked out of the room “no one goes in there except the nurse” “Yes sir” Rolling my sleeves up I walked towards the dungeon, my heart still raging. They wanted to kill my wife, have her powers, but I was not going to let that happen, she was mine and mine alone. I took a turn into the dungeon and the smell of blood reached my nose. I looked at Sierra, and she was nothing like I left her, pride coursed through me knowing this was all my wife's doing. “I…” She froze when she realized it wasn't Leah, rather it was me. Her heart began to race uncontrollably, I could hear it and feel her fear at the tip of my fingers. “What does Victor have in mind?” I asked softly with my hands skimming through the drawer of weapons, trying to find something suitable that seemed harmless until it's not. “I don't know” She spoke too confidently, and I threw a dagger at her without turning to face her I watched her eyes widen as strands of her front hair were cut off, and the dagger left a cut on her forehead “I didn't come here to watch you spill lies about my answers, I'm not soft-hearted like my wife” She looked as if she wanted to speak, but she chose to kept shut “… I'm sure your mother will not mind seeing her daughter die” her eyes snapped to me. “My mother is longer gone, please let her rest!” “And what did they tell you after you returned from your journey. That the house went ablaze, and your mother was still inside, no one could save her, and she died” Her eyes widened and get body trembled. “H… How did you know that?” I ignored her question and continued to skim through the drawer, “… No one was meant to know that, how did you know that?!” She screamed, but I remained deaf. I heard footsteps in the corridor and I smiled “Your mother choose to abandon you, and you thought she was dead” “I would never have abandoned my daughter!” The woman's voice echoed through the corridor as she was dragged by the guards. I watched Sierra's face mask fall and break into pieces, and then I began, I let one of the guard whip her repeatedly while he'd mother cried. After few minutes after I let her, my mother rushed to her. “Please let her go, you can do anything you want to do to me your majesty, please let her go” Her mother cried, but I didn't care “How are you still alive?” Sierra asked her mother and just then I sent a dagger flying through the woman's skin and into her heart, making her eyes widen “… No, no, no… I have questions, you can't die…" She choked on a sob as she struggled with her chains. “Guards get her to the hospital” I ordered quietly and continued to fiddle with the small blade in my hand, “while she's getting stitched up how about you tell me everything you know?” She looked to the ground with tears streaming down my face. “Victor read ancient scrolls each night about Leah. He had an obsession with her time to time and would speak of her often like the power he craved so badly. He wanted to find the woman that will break the curse so he began searching but along with that he began using black magic until it became another addiction” I played with my blade. “He met someone for black magic?” “The witch of the west” My heart skipped a bit, of course that's where he will go, “what next?”LEAH I was sick of staring at the white ceiling above me, it was all I could do actually ever since my dear husband abandoned me, my heart skipped as I remembered the fear and pain I saw in his eyes, it had seen the same thing after the battle and I promised myself it wouldn't happen again, but it did I watched the tube and the nurse walked in before I turned away from her, hoping that she will you'll the tube away, and I felt a sight sharp before it is pulled out of my body “Oh thank God!” I gasped and wanted to flee, but she held my hand and placed a plaster on it before letting me go with a quiet smile which made me pause “... Why are you smiling so much?” She burst into laughter. “Well let's say we have never seen his majesty like we did. Yes, he had sick fiancées but he never came running or crying by her side… You are good for him and honestly… Thank you for coming into his life your majesty” She bowed her head and a chill went down my spine.“Thank you for taking care of me
LEAH ONE MONTH LATER I stared at the butterfly carefully, making sure not to scare the hell out of it and just when my fingers were mere inches away from it, someone pounced on me and the butterfly went flying away from my grabs “Why are you out here?” Dante's voice rang in my ear. “Finding ways to kill you!” I snapped and knew a flower in his direction which he laughed at and caught so easily “... I was this close, I've been trying to get one in my hand for the last thirty minutes, and I was so close!” I walked towards him, and he walked back while muffling his laughter. “I'm so sorry, I could pick another flower for you, it's not that hard to see…" He plucked a flower out. “Don't ruin my damn flowers! It was a butterfly, not a flower!” I snapped more, and he paused before putting his hand over his head in surrender. “I'm sorry I didn't know, let me make it up to you” I glared at him and I began to remove my gloves “... Seriously, I'll make it up to you”“Can you catch another
LEAH My eyes flew open when I felt a sudden hit from behind the car, without hesitation I looked back and saw no one, Dante's car was ahead of us. Don't ask me why we are in different cars. I honestly don't know how to explain it. “It's just a bump on the road” Hans looked at me from the rear window and I nodded but deep within I had a gut feeling that it wasn't just a bump on the roadI couldn't bring myself to go back to sleep even if there was nothing like that happening again. The journey was surprisingly long, I wanted to get out of the car as fast as… Something hit the car harder this time and my head was falling front before I could even stop it. My head hits the headboard of the front sit, and the car suddenly halt in an abrupt way “Hans what the hell is…" The door suddenly pulled open and without thinking I pulled the dagger that was resting in the pocket of my dress. Rogues surround the car, not one not to and now both doors were open. I stabbed him in the eyes and look
LEAHI didn’t even have the energy to pretend to be polite as Hannah led us down the marble hallway. My head pounded, my body screamed for a bed, and every step felt like dragging a corpse through the pristine halls of Sun City Pack’s Alpha mansion.Hannah was talking—something about accommodations, the dinner planned for tonight, how honored they were to have us—but her voice blurred into white noise. Dante kept a hand on the small of my back, steady and warm, like he knew if he let go, I might just crumple into a heap right there. We reached a pair of massive oak doors at the end of the hall. Hannah pushed them open with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Your chambers, Your Majesties. If you need anything, anything at all, just ring the bell.”Dante gave a polite nod. I didn’t even spare her a glance as I shoved inside, dragging my bloodied, dirt-caked body straight to the bed and falling face-first onto the soft, cool sheets. The door clicked shut behind us. Silence.Bless
LEAHThe garden that was once filled with smiles and happiness was now filled with screams of maids and clashes of swords, where in the world were the men?My heart raced in my chest, each beat pounding louder than the last as I gripped the hilt of my dagger. The air was thick with the clash of metal, the frantic shouts of warriors, and the sickening scent of blood. The garden filled with the echo of growls, snarls, and the frantic thud of boots hitting the ground as bodies collided.Around me, the Lunas were fighting fiercely. I could hear their grunts and the sharp sounds of blades cutting through the air, their bodies swift and agile as they moved with the precision of warriors. No one was screaming, not out of fear, but because the battle had already begun. There was no room for panic. Not here. Not nowI couldn't help but turn around for even a glimpse of Dante but I didn't see and I knew too well that i needed to handle this alone I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my
DANTEThe shrill, piercing sound of the attack alarm cut through the air like a blade, a shockwave of cold that slammed into my chest. The world seemed to freeze for a moment, and then everything erupted.A maid walked in without a knock and the look on her face says it all, something was going onI barely had time to register the noise before my body was already in motion, driven by a primal urgency I couldn’t control my body was at the door before I even knew it was. My heart hammered in my chest as I shot to my feet, adrenaline pumping through me, every muscle in my body screaming to move faster. The Luna’s meeting had been so close, just a few moments ago but why in the world didn’t we hear anything before, how could we possibly not hear anything when we were just minutes away, I had been hunched over reports, the quiet ticking off the clock in the background. Now, chaos had descended on us. I could feel the weight of something dreadful settling over me, like a storm cloud ready t
LEAH The first thing I noticed was the cold. Not the sharp bite of winter or the brush of an open window, no, this was different. It sank deeper. Into my bones, my blood, my soul. A cold that said something was terribly, irreversibly wrong I tried to move, a stupid instinct, really but the second I shifted, white-hot pain exploded at my wrists and ankles. A whimper slipped out before I could bite it back.Pathetic. Weak. I’m suddenly reminded by Darren’s words as my body in more pain than I could ever imagineMy vision swam in and out of focus. Darkness twisted around me, thick and suffocating, and when I blinked, it felt like prying open rusted shutters. My head pounded with a slow, vicious rhythm, each throb pulling me further from the comfortable ignorance of unconsciousness and back into reality.Where... where was I? My mind raced to what was going on and what had actually happened but everything was blank till it began to rush in like a fog making me groan out loud.Sunlight d
DANTEMy body hadn’t stopped trembling with anger ever since she went missing, I couldn’t think straight and even if I ran as fast as possible I couldn’t catch up to them that day, hell I couldn’t even see them, they were too fast because I could still perceive her scent faintly but she was nowhere to be foundI returned to the kingdom and turns out the news had already reached before I arrived, mournful cry echoed through the castle walls, vibrating in my bones, rattling the very air I breathed. It was a sound that spelled one thing and one thing only, chaos.Panic.Desperation.And at the center of it all, I stood there silent, seething; my fists clenched so tightly that my claws had torn clean through the skin of my palms. I barely even registered the blood dripping onto the marble floors of the war room."Lock it down," I snarled, my voice a raw thing dragged from somewhere deep and violent inside me. "Lock the entire kingdom down. No one leaves. No one enters. Not without my expl
DANTE The day had finally come and Alpha Dante was making the final announcement to the senior pack committee. He was going to leave later at night when everyone was in the confines of their beds because he didn't want anyone to know where he was going, to avoid the risk of them following him. Everybody was not happy with Alpha Dante's temporary exchange of power but when they heard the reason, they backed him and he was happy that they did. He would not have been able to live with himself if they didn't. "I leave you guys in good hands, with the man that was there for both me and my father whenever we needed him. My uncle, Charles Lockwood." He took the hand of his uncle and raised it. The rest of the committee rose their hands up reluctantly, which made Alpha Dante feel a knot in his stomach. He gave them a sad smile before he took a step back for their temporary new king to speak. "I know all of you here are used to having Alpha Dante as your king, and I respect that be
LEAH It has been three days since the incident with Paula and Alpha Victor happened and I had not been able to step foot outside. I was enraged, knowing that Paula had probably moved in with him by now because they were mates. If they slept together, their bond would hold them to each other and they wouldn’t be able to leave again. Especially after she has been gone for a long time. I couldn’t help but feel like the both of them used me for their selfish gain. While she was gone, Victor used me as a distraction and now that she is back, I was tossed away like an empty bag of nothing. It hurt me more than it was supposed to. I felt like I was slowly slipping into the depression phase because I had barely eaten since that night, and I had not bathed since then. But when I saw how time was ticking and moving, not bothering to wait for anybody, I knew that I had to do something or else my entire life would go to shit. I wanted to leave the pack and head to another, where no one
DANTE Alpha Dante toasted a cup to his uncle with a smile on his face as they went down the memory lane. He laughed as his uncle reminded him of all the goofy things he had done when he was young, all the sacrifices he made for the pack and all his parents did for love. He convinced him that no matter what, love always came first for the wolves in their pack. His father may not have done worse when it came to love but he knew if he was in that situation, he would do it without thinking twice. It was a day before Alpha Dante left the Aurora pack to the Tick moon pack with nothing but a carry-on of his clothes and money. He was going to make a brand new life in the neighboring pack since he had never shown his face, or had a meeting with anyone from the pack. Whatever relationship the both of them had come as a result of the pack members, and barely ever from the pack Alphas. “You have always been successful Dante, it wouldn’t be any different this time. I promise.” He placed
LEAH We got to the palace late at night. The doors to the palace were closed, the Omegas were back at their log cabins but the bodyguards still stood, the night shifters who I’m sure came in just a few minutes ago. I was sure Alpha Robert was in our room, trying to get some sleep after a long day. I’m sure he hadn’t fallen asleep because I could peek at some light right from the threshold of the palace. “You should get my clothes upstairs,” I told my maid as I stepped into the house. The bodyguards were surprised to see me, but they greeted me nevertheless and welcomed me back. “Okay, ma.” She nodded before she headed upstairs to my room where I kept some of my stuff. Alpha Robert didn’t allow any Omega into our room because of reasons unknown to me, but I knew it had to do with his mother. She was that way towards the Omegas too, even though Robert was softer than she was to them. I headed towards the fridge that just had its position changed recently. We always did
DANTE Dante's days were getting longer and each day that passed. He was barely able to have a good night's sleep before waking up in sweats and horror, unconscious of his surroundings. He was getting tired of it and taking Maria's advice suddenly didn't seem like a very bad idea. He was at the pack meeting, but he was barely concentrating on what the pack's committee was saying because of his lack of sleep in him. He caught himself dozing off a few times since the meeting started, which confused both his Beta and the rest of the committee because they knew Alpha Dante never showed a weak side. Even when he was sick, he would rather stay back in the palace than come down to the meeting and show a sign of weakness like sleep. "Alpha Brain," Beta Louis, who was closest to him touched his arm which jerked him up from his reverie. He brought his hand up to his forehead and massaged it before he turned to look at him. "What is it, Louis?" He asked. Beta Louis looked at him in
LEAH The next few days at my home were the best. I loved how I was being treated by Alpha Robert, which was strange compared to who he was a few days ago. It was quite surprising for a man that had that sort of tantrum to turn out to be all forgiving and loving in the next second. I was surprised but I knew I had to enjoy it while it lasted. “Are you done dressing up my queen?” He asked, planting a subtle kiss on my cheek and hugging me from behind. My body radiated with heat as thoughts of last night came rushing into my mind. I loved having sex with him, but I knew deep in my heart he wasn’t the one I wanted to be with. He was not my mate, he was my sister’s. It felt wrong letting him fuck me with every chance he got after I came back, even though I knew it had a lot to do with Paula. “Yes.” I nodded, a fake smile appearing on my lips as I tied my hair into my usual hairstyle. I decided to change my choice of clothing today because Alpha Robert’s mother would be here to ta
RACHEL A sharp scream evaded my throat as I got to my chamber and found the lock broken and droplets of blood at the threshold of my house. I was too slow and had gotten there way before Alpha Robert did, and I could see he had succeeded in breaking the locks of my house with his hands which only meant that his wolf side was beginning to show, and it only happens when he is extremely angry. I pushed the door open and rushed to my room where I could hear a little bit of whisper coming from it. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as I prepared myself to see the worst before I opened the room, and what I saw there made my fear rise a notch. My room was completely scattered, my furniture broken and my walls scarred with punch marks. I brought my hand up to my mouth and covered it in shock as I analyzed the damage Alpha Robert did to my room before anger started to sear through my veins. But this wasn't the time to be angry, especially because of what I did to him. I didn't k
DANTE Alpha Dante tried to get the thought of what Maria told him out of his head. He used his usual tricks of making himself forget what was going on- like burying himself in work or going out hunting during the full moon when he transformed but all that didn’t work. He was still stuck in his sad little bubble that was getting worse and messing with his head with every day that passed. Today, he resorted to doing something he had not done for a very long time. Sex. He used to be able to keep it in his pants for an incredibly long time because of the self-control he learned to have ever since he was young but he knew he needed it now. If not, he would either go spiraling or go ahead with what his sister told him which was the last option in his mind. He called in one of his many royal concubines that were just living, waiting to be called by him. Every Alpha that didn’t have a Luna yet had a bunch of them provided by the pack but Alpha Dante slept with them only once in a blue
The days went faster than the nights because of dealing with Paula when I got back to my chamber. I was starting to get irritated with her with every day that passed, and I knew it had everything with her changing an environment because that was certainly not how she was before. “When do you plan to clean up the goddamn room Paula?” Anger seared through my body as I found her laying on my bed with a box of chips made for me by the maids. It was hard to make them because of our potato scarcity, and I craved them all the time. So now that I had the power to have it whenever I wanted, I took the opportunity faster than lightning. “I will clean it, stop whining. You know you don’t have to go through all these if you just tell Robbie about our plan right?” I folded my hands over my chest which was covered with a dry towel I just wrapped around me after bathing. “You don’t tell me what to do Paula.” I turned my head away as a weight settled in my chest when I remembered our l
