Sharon woke up with a headache. Her thoughts danced inside her head and she struggled to piece together what had happened the previous night

She wasn't in her room, she figured immediately she took a whiff, and smelled Luca everywhere. What cologne did he use anyway?

She remembered the feeling of warm strong hands encircled around her

Did they

Sleep together?

Luca wasn't beside her, but she could tell he hadn't been gone long, his side of the bed was still warm

“How on earth did I get here?”

She asked herself

Her eyes scanned Luca's room. It was large, really large. It had bright blue walls. For someone if his character, he did seem Lto have a knack for colour

There was a single painting hanging on the wall

It intrigued her. It was of a woman, bearing a striking resemblance to Luca. Only that she had brown eyes, and Luca's eyes were deep blue

Everything else was passed down to him. Sharon stood up to get a closer look

But her legs were wobbly, and she felt dizzy.

She reached for the bedpost and grabbed it for support

Her stomach was practically empty

The door was opened, and Luca walked in, holding a tray of food

Wait a second

Luca Pavilochenki, Luca asshole Pavilochenki was holding up a tray of food for her?

Nope, he probably just wanted to eat in his room or something

How did she even get there in the first place?

Then it began to hit her. Memories of what actually happened. She felt embarrassed that he saw her in that state. Vulnerable and weak. She wanted to leave as quickly as possible to avoid an awkward conversation

“Did you get any sleep?”

He asked as he set the food on a table

“Yeah— I mean yes”

She stood up again, and headed for the door

He caught her in her tracks. His hands held her gently, but his grip was firm she could feel his hard chest at the back of her shoulders

“You need to eat” he whispered into her ear.

Sharon could not deny the fact that she was hungry.

He brought out a chair that was living rent free inside his room, then he sat on it.

His hands positioned her to sit in his lap sideways

“Wait just one minute, what the hell is—”

Food was inside her mouth. She didn't know how it happened, but she didn't ask questions either. She just kept chowing down whatever he gave her

It was odd. They had done this before of course, in public so they would look like a loving couple

But they were literally the only ones in the room. What reason did Luca have to be this nice to her?

Could it be that the food was poisoned. Her mind instantly went back to the time she had poisoned his coffee. Did he find out from Arman and decide it was payback time?

Sharon stopped chewing, and stood up from his lap

“What's wrong?”

He asked

“Did I cook it wrong?”

Sharon swallowed the food in her mouth. Arman wouldn't snitch on her. He gave her his reasons and he didn't seem like the kind of guy who'd say one thing and do the exact opposite

“You— you made this?”

“Yes”

“For me?”

“Yup”

“But why?”

“Do I really need a reason to cook for my wife?”

Sharon's cheeks turned red

“If you utterly completely loathe your wife, I suppose she would be surprised if you started being nice all of a sudden”

“Sharon”

He called, his voice growing deeper

“Sit your ass down”

*******************

Sharon instinctively sat where he had positioned her before.

A smile crept up on his lips. He was even more breathtaking when he smiled, but he rarely did

He patted her on the back softly, she felt heat course through her

Then she became aware of the bandage on his forehead

Sharon gasped as she reached forth to touch it

But she hesitated before her fingers could reach him

She was still weary of him

Still scared that he would change in the twinkle of an eye

And he knew it

But he continued feeding her, like their past was well— in the past

“Thanks Luca, that was sweet of you”

She said, getting up from his lap before he would push her on the floor by himself.

But he stood up with her

He knew she was about to leave, knew she didn't trust him

“Sharon about last night”

She turned her face away, and walked a few steps away from him

“You don't have tell me, you don't owe me any explanation. But I want you to know that I won't let anyone hurt you.

Including myself—”

Sharon had heard enough crazy talk for one day. She ran out of Luca's room in a frenzy, and didn't stop until she was inside hers

She enjoyed the food. She never knew Luca could cook. She never dreamed he would cook for her, and feed her

She took a hot shower and tried to get everything out of her head

Sharon looked at her dressing table, there was something there that caught her attention. It was a bright yellow post it note. And she was curious to find out what was written on it

It read

“Flick the switch”

She knew which one he was talking about. The switch that turned on all the lights that differentiated where she could go, and where she was forbidden from going

She dressed up quickly in a fluffy lilac two piece

And walked to the place where the switch was located

Immediately she flicked it on, she saw bright blue lights illuminating the house.

No red, just blue

She stood in awe

Was this the silver lining Arman was talking about? Was Luca really capable of caring for her genuinely?

Sharon didn't really know the answer to that question

But somehow, she was willing to stick around and find out
