As Sharon stared at her reflection in the mirror, she was hit by a wave of nostalgia

Six months ago, she was prepping for the same wedding

Only it felt like she was getting married to a different person, a new version of Luca

Six months prior to that time, she hated him. With every fibre of her being, she loathed him. And he loathed her back

He had showed up to the wedding, after bashing his face, and drinking, and fucking his whore—

All because he didn't like her

So it was only normal that she would have second thoughts

She placed her bouquet of roses on the table next to her, and she watched a tear drop

It would've smudged her mascara, but she wasn't wearing any. In fact she had no makeup on

They both wanted the remake of a wedding that was a direct contrast to the first one

It was going to be simple. No cameras, no family members, no pretence

Just two people in love

Her hair was in a simple messy bun, and her dress was simple, very simple. It was made of cotton

She was barefoot, she had taken the heels off last minute

Something about them reminded her of her first wedding day, and she didn't want to be reminded

She had loosened her corset, because she didn't feel like walking down the aisle looking snatched

The guests were probably waiting for her, but she needed to collect her thoughts

She needed a last minute reassurance—

There was a knock on the door , and through it, she could hear the conversation that transpired

“You can't go in there, you're not supposed to—”

That was all the reassurance Sharon needed

She opened the door

To find Luca, all six foot five of him staring down at her

His hair looked perfect, he looked perfect—

Even though he was meant to look simple, Luca somehow managed to pull of looking sophisticated and handsome

His eyes scanned her from head to toe, and he gave her a wry smile

All the while, the woman who had attempted to stop his entry, Georgia, kept talking

But in that moment, everything else seemed out of earshot

Her heart had called for him, and he answered—

*****************

Luca had shoved Georgia away at some point, and he had walked in and locked the door

He resembled a Greek god, one that was trying unsuccessfully to look human

His eyes were dark, and piercing

He could see through her, he could see the doubt hidden beneath her eyes

He knew all too well the reason why she was skeptical

“You look gorgeous”

“Oh don't feed me that crap Luca, I look like shit

My hair, my face, me—”

Luca brought his hand to his jet black hair, and roughened it up

“See, now we look like shit together—”

Sharon felt her chest tighten

He was being so ludicrously romantic

His eyes darted to the corset she had undone

She followed his eyes, and attempted to fix it, to look appropriate for him

“Don't you dare fix it”

He walked closer to her, and placed his hands on her waist

“And don't you dare talk down on yourself”

Sharon gasped

“And if I do—?”

He brought his lips to her ear, and bit it slightly

His hands settled on her lower back

“If you do— then I'll punish you”

“How? You're going to plummet my father's stocks?”

Sharon teased

“No”

He said, his voice growing lower

He smacked her ass slightly with his palm, and she gasped

“I'm going to spank you”

Sharon's cheeks turned an instant shade of red

Luca was dead serious

And he never said things he wasn't going to do

“Luca”

She said, trying to change the subject

“I'm scared”

“Why?”

“What if— you stop liking me, after we're married?”

Sharon knew she had asked the wrong question. Because he had warned her not to talk down on herself

She fixed her eyes on her toes, to avoid making eye contact with him

“What if you like someone else?”

“Fuck, you're adding to your punishment Baby girl”

“I'm so nervous, and I'm scared, and I don't want to wear heels, and I'm short. And I feel so inadequate sometimes—

“You're making all this fuss, because you don't want to wear heels?”

Sharon nodded, her eyes still glued to her feet

Luca crouched down, and took her feet in his hands

Her toenails were painted a very girlish shade of pink

Don't wear shoes

What, you want me to walk down the aisle barefoot

“Who said you were walking?”

Before Sharon could respond, he had swept her off the floor, and into his arms. Sharon knew she couldn't protest her way out, so she picked up her veil last minute and covered her face.

Luca didn't care about protocol, or decency for that matter. He didn't give a fuck about the rules. He didn't care that he wasn't supposed to see her until she walked down the aisle

Because he had followed protocol all his life, and none of it brought him as close to happiness as he currently was

Immediately he walked out the door, carrying her, he could see people staring

Their audience consisted largely of the orphanage kids, and people they didn't know

It was funny really

They would never have guessed that they were witnessing the marriage of a billionaire

Sharon's veil was the only thing masking her blush. She was smiling like a high schooler, embarrassed, barefoot but happy.

She had never been that happy in her entire life

The Reverend was probably traumatized

Luca dropped her close to the altar, and she proceeded to walk to the opposite side.

Then she burst out laughing, and everyone laughed with her

If either of their families could witness it, they would be livid. Rufus Pavilochenki would you probably suffer a stroke, if he wasn't so intent on living

“Will you take this man to be your lawfully wedded wife?”

“Yes”

Sharon answered, smiling as the word slipped off her tongue

“Will you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

“Yes”

“Are there any objections from the crowd?”

Georgia, who had been fuming the entire time raised a finger to object

But before she could speak, she found that the side of her face was covered in frosting

The kids wanted the union too—

“I now pronounce you man and wife”

“You may now kiss the bride”
