“What is your name?”

The question echoed through the dimly lit room

A young man in his mid twenties sat in a white shirt, and beige pants. It looked loose on him, infact he looked very thin. His eyes were fixed to kis skull at a weird angle, and his wrists were chained on the table in front of him

Donald sat across from him

The man looked from left to right, his eyes darted across the room. But there were only two of them—

Donald slapped his palm on his face in annoyance

Cant you see he is delinquent

A few seconds later, a doctor walked into the room, towards the patient

“It's alright, he just needs you to answer his question”

The doctor patted him on the shoulder, as if to calm him down

“What question?”

The poor man asked, finally speaking. Donald was beginning to think he was one of the crazy people that had lost his ability to speak

“What is your name?”

Donald repeated, louder

It was as though he went blank, upon hearing the question for the second time. He sat back in his chair, and stared at the ceiling

He lacked comprehension, or he could comprehend and he decided not to answer. Maybe he was pretending not to understand

And Donald was convinced that he wasn't the one.

Based on the information they had gotten so far, the man Donald interviewed had schizophrenia. He was also twenty eight years, although he had aged due to depression

Donald decided to give it a shot, without so much as a second thought. It was tiring really, to know that he was chasing a potential dead end

He knew one thing

That the man seated in that room happened to have the same first name, was born at the same time, and had the same psychological issues as the man he was looking for

But he wasn't Blake Gray

As if to further confirm it, Palmer walked in a few minutes later with the results of the DNA test

It was negative

******************

Because Donald had access to more info and connections, he was able to narrow down his search

He located an infirmary, the one that was supposed to house the person he was looking for

However, he felt that something was off from the start. The man in question checked all the boxes, but upon interviewing him, Donald realised he had the wrong guy

There were two possibilities

It was either they were met by the most coincidental coincidence

Or Hillary Gray has planned it from the start

Probably he had a feeling that someone would go digging for his secrets, and he went an extra mile to hide it

There was a probability that the business tycoon had falsified the information of some certain individuals, to lead whoever was investigating to a dead end

There were duplicates, Donald was sure

It was possible, that Hillary Gray had anticipated it. And before they would finish investigating all the people they needed to investigate, Hillary Gray would have been aware

And would he continue to question his own sanity, because Hillary Gray had a plan B for everything?

Donald had come too far to back down

He needed to keep digging, to keep investigating

As he walked out of the gates of the infirmary, to his car, he slipped his hand into his pocket

And alas, it was Giny's letter

So far, it hadn't given them much information

But something was urging him to look into the lines the woman had written. Somehow he felt that it would give him some hidden clue—

The third quarter of Giny's letter, as translated:

I was scared, scared for my son

The man noticed, I didn't want him to notice

One day, he came on an unexpected visit, to see his son. To test his intelligence

It wasn't long before he discovered that the boy wasn't normal.

It was a simple task, a very simple task. But I couldn't hide his defectiveness for long

He got angry, and hit the boy. It was then I knew the kind of monster he was. The boy fell unconscious, and bled from his head. I screamed, but he wouldn't let me touch my son

His men took the boy away

And that was the last time I saw him”

The cards were slowly lining up. Hillary Gray wanted an heir, Hillary Gray looked for another means, then he found out his heir was abnormal. So he killed his mistress and hid the child from the world

Like a mistake that never even happened

Hillary Gray was extremely abusive. It made perfect sense, that he constantly hit his wife. That evidence alone could pull down his reputation. He was abusive to his wife, abusive to his son, and he could kill to cover up his tracks. He did kill Giny

Donald could not help but wonder

If he did all that damage to a child he never fathered much

What could he have done to someone who had lived with him? Sharon, what did he do to Sharon?

For a moment, Donald almost conceived a conscience driven thought

What if he considered the fact that things would end badly for Sharon and Luca, and he stopped gathering evidence for his grandfather?

What if Sharon didn't have to die, because she had lived in trauma all her life?

He brushed off the thought as quickly as it came

Because him growing a conscience and changing his mind was never in the blueprint

The third quarter of Giny's letter gave Donald a clue, one clue. If Hillary had hit Blake, to the point where he fell unconscious, he had probably hit him on the head

And there was a probability that he had a permanent head scar

It was just a probability, but Donald was certain

Blake Gray had a scar on his head

And if push came to shove, Donald would have to narrow down his search with that single physical characteristic
