CHAPTER ONE
The memory was seared into her brain. It flooded her with guilt and shame but it wasn’t enough to push away the butterflies in her stomach or the sweet throbbing in her neck where he had marked her with his teeth. It was short, intense and with a person whom she had never met before, a person that was like an abomination to werewolves. A human. Her heart leapt as she thought of her little act of rebellion. It left a bitter-sweet after taste in her mouth – if her kin were to find out –“Where’s your head at?” a voice said from beside her, causing her thoughts jump into the dark. “Nowhere, Ivy.” She straightened her gown with her hand. “Have you seen Zack anywhere?”Her eyes scanned the vast crowd of werewolf filled room and her nose took in their scents. “He’s probably busy with more important matters. It’s his family hosting the celebration, isn’t it?” Ivy said. Gwen nodded. Of course, It was. Of the eleven families that made up Zelda’s pack, Zack’s family was the one to host the c

CHAPTER TWO
“I can’t believe you’re leaving.” Ivy whined. She squeezed her hands around the luggage. “And Zelda gave you a go ahead to leave?”Gwen drew herself and her luggage to the door. “So I see. He must have found my reason good enough.”“And what reason did you give?”“Something about my parents. I think Zelda has a soft spot for them considering they died while trying to protect his ass.” Gwen shrugged.“I personally believe its because you’re that stoked about Zack and Fiona. You just can’t bear living in the same town as them.”Gwen crossed a look at her friend. “How many times do I have to tell you I have no problem with those two? I’m choosing to leave now because I think it’s the best thing for me. I’ve spent my entire life in this forest. I need to go and experience the world.”“That’s a lot of words. And that’s what guilty people do. Spill empty words.” Ivy smacked her lips. Gwen shook her head at her friend. Her friend could always sense when she was lying or trying to avoid a qu

CHAPTER THREE
A werewolf carried their child for six months and then gave birth in the most painful way possible. Gwen was in her fifth month and anxiously looking forward to the next month. Some days, as today, she could feel the child’s wolf stirring inside her, shifting and turning. She had taken up a job with one of the local bars in the town a month into her arrival. The owner of the bar was a short, round man named Bob, whose round face and wide mouth made him have the look of a smiling clown. He was a friendly and jovial man with a warm-heart and now, he stood in front of the counter, staring at her. “You don’t look okay. Why don’t you take a quick rest? I’ll ask Sarah to cover for you.”“I’m fine, Bob. It’s just the baby disturbing.”Bob gazed at her for a while before strolling off to chat with one of the customers. “He’s worried about you, Lia.” One of the girls said, calling her by the false name she had given them. “Oh, Suzy!” Gwen exclaimed, turning towards the petite lady. “You l

CHAPTER FOUR
They were ringing noises in her ear and the pain in her lower back had worsened. She could hear screaming and something cold was running down her face. The screaming continued and so did the pain. She couldn’t find her wolf, it was buried somewhere in the darkness and she called for it. She could feel it, it was there - shaded by the darkness – but it was not responding. “Not the wolf.” A hollow voice said. Its sound reverberated though every inch of her cells until the darkness absorbed it. Gwen wanted to speak, she wanted to ask what was happening but her voice was gone too. The last thing she remembered was Ivy asking her where she’d been. It was raining outside and Gwen had been in a hurry to get home before she was misses so she had ran under the rain till she got home and was soaked in it. Ivy was furious, she wanted to know where she had been but Gwen was not telling. She had met a stranger and she had thrown all caution to the wind to be with him and in all the joy, had los
