"Laura, everything is fine. Daniel and I had a discussion," Mr. Markson said, trying to hide his nervousness. Daniel smirked at Mr. Markson and turned to Laura, saying, "Yeah, we talked and sorted things out. We're good now." Mr. Markson forced a smile and added, "Yes, we're good, Daniel."

Laura looked at her father and Daniel suspiciously, furrowing her brows. "We have to go, Laura," Daniel said, getting up from his seat. Claudia, Laura's mother, felt uneasy about everything her daughter had told her and was unsure about what could happen next. She held Laura's hand and whispered, "Please be careful."

Laura nodded, turned to Daniel, and began following him out slowly. However, Mr. Markson refused to get up from his seat. Claudia signaled him to come with them, but he remained seated, boiling with anger. Claudia went closer to him and whispered assertively, "I know you're not happy, but let's at least pretend for now. Let's go see them off." She held Mr. Markson's hand, hinting at him
