Chapter 7

Harold jumped from the couch and rushed to the door to see who it was. To his surprise, a tall, handsome, and fair-skinned young man was standing there, smiling at him. It was Daniel Edward's cousin, Edric.

Harold was thrilled to see him. They had known each other for a long time, and it had been ages since they last met. "Edric! Oh my God, it's so good to see you," Harold exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.

Edric walked into the living room and noticed Laura, who was sitting on the chair, breathing heavily. Concerned, he asked Harold what had happened to her.

Harold explained the situation to Edric, and he felt pity for Laura. After catching her breath, Laura felt at ease and noticed Edric for the first time.

"Hi, I'm Edric, Daniel's cousin. Nice to meet you," he said, extending his hand.

Laura replied in a low tone, her eyes dim and pitiful, "I'm Laura, nice to meet you too."

The four of them sat and gisted for a long time as they waited for Daniel Edward's return.
