XI - Beau

1734

I looked down at the knife protruding from my chest. He stabbed me, he actually stabbed me. He never went this far.

"Why?" I whispered, as I cried. "Why would you do this?"

He didn't answer just twisted the knife, before ripping it out.

"You ever sneak food again, and I will kill you!" He snarled, before he looked at the disguised clones with interest. "You did good for once." He said, a look of approval on his face.

As he led the clones away, they all gave me reassured pats on my arm, before I lost sight of them, and then I fell to the ground from the blood loss. If no one got to me in time I really would die. I was bleeding out too much. I lost consciousness and when I woke up it was to one of Thomas's workers using magic. He stopped when he saw I was awake.

"D-d-

"I won't tell him," I interrupted, as he helped me sit up in the bed. "What's your name?"

"Percival Pott, Ms. Oadham." He said, nodding at my bare chest.

"Go ahead and finish, I don't really have the strength to do it myself," I told him as I closed my eyes with a sigh. "How long do I have to rest?"

"A month, that's all the other physicians and I could get you for when you woke." He said, as I felt the warmth of his magic on my skin.

A month was the longest break I've ever gotten from Thomas.

"How long have I been out?"

"Almost a year, we couldn't stop him from raping you."

"He still wants to have a child with me," I explained. "I can't have kids, I was born without a womb."

He just nodded as there was a knock on the door. He stood up and walked over to it, opening it to reveal Arung.

"We need to get you out of here, Lady Beau." He told me, sitting down. "There's been talk that he's searching for the descendant of the Sphinx."

And there was my other secret, the only one I ever told the crew and Arung. Not even Marlowe knew of this. The Sphinx was one of our ancestors as were Wendigos. Because that was what we were a hybrid of Sphinx and Wendigo, but then we branched off into our own species. Skinwalkers.

"We can't, not until we get everyone out of here safely."

But we both knew that wouldn't happen until years after I betrayed my family. I only knew that because I saw Arung there but he was going by his new name then. Alistair Nicholas Pekearo. My Alice. I didn't tell him about the name I came up for him. I would tell him when he officially changed his name.

"Percival, you're a Changeling correct?" I asked, as he hesitantly walked back over.

He nodded.

"It's time to play your mate died." Arung said, before he spelled me to sleep.
