Because I passed on shifting my energy frequency to see him, I was able to engage in conversation with my great, great, great grandfather for the majority of the evening. With Kenzie just as interested in learning about my ancestry as I was, the time was filled with questions as it passed without us feeling it.
We saw no sign of Noah, Oscar, or any of the pack. Logan checked with the people on his side of the veil and was told that a few of Noah’s most trustworthy pack members were standing watch on the perimeter. The rest of the pack was far off on the other side of the mountain hunting.

I was more nervous than I could imagine ever being as I sat in the waiting room in the veterinary office of Caleb Smyth’s rescue shelter while awaiting his arrival. Don’t ask me why, but for some reason I thought that Caleb was going to cook our dinner for us. The expression Danica wore was both amusing and frightening as she watched Caleb lead me into the chair next to his at the dining table. If he noticed the hate for me in her eyes, he gave no indication of it as he made the introductions around the room.He seemed mildly surprised to discover that Kenzie and I had already met her. Even so. Other than express his surprise, he made no effort to explore how and why we were acquainted. Instead, he initiated light and interesting table talk about the history of the mountain while we enjoyed several courses that could easily have been served in a five star restaurant.
