“She is coming with me,” Dominic growls.

“Take her away,” King Bernard says to his minions, his eyes on Dominic. “If you move, if you try to rescue her, you know what would happen.”

“You will not kill her,” Dominic says to him. “You know that you need her. I don’t have time for this. We are getting out of here!”

“You know I sometimes think about it,” Felix says, his eyes on his shoes, and he’s a little too calm for my liking. “I think about how we should probably just let Princess Esther die, and then you’ll find another mate who will hopefully not be as stubborn as she is."

"Will you please stop with the empty threats?" Dominic growls.

"Dealing with Esther has been a lot of work,” he exhales and looks up at Dominic. “Maybe it will be easy to persuade your next mate to reject you. If not, I’ll kill her too, until I find the one who will be strong enough to do the job. What do you think, Edmund?”
