"Dr. Giovanni?" Derek whispered to himself as he hid behind the thick trunk of a tree, watching Dr. Giovanni stand beside a black Jeep. A few thorns from the tree's trunk pricked his skin but he didn't mind. If he did, he wasn't showing it.
"What is he doing here?" he asked himself as he dared to move even closer. He scrambled to a tree closer to the Vice Chancellor and from there, watched all that was going on in complete silence.
"The ghouls can't find them anywhere," Derek heard Dr. Giovanni say into his phone. He stopped talking for a few seconds and Derek guessed it was because whoever he was talking to was replying him. "They had an heads up from Ericson," he told the person on the other end of the phone again and was silent.
There seemed to be something evil about the way he carried himself, the tone with which he spoke, his facial expression, too, and from where Derek was, he knew Dr. Peyton Giovanni wasn't there to save the
Still on his aching legs, Derek managed to run till he reached the others who were so spellbound by the car that pulled up at their front at the thick mist of dust they couldn't move."Guys!" Derek said as he placed an arm on Harold from behind. "They've seen us! We've got to get going.""What do you mean they've seen us?" Penelope asked but instead of getting a reply, Derek dragged her by her hand and started running away from the Jeep, the others also running, closely behind them. They had only gone a few metres when the mist cleared and from the car Dr. Giovanni was in, he saw them. With an evil smirk on his face, he pressed his foot hard on the gas pedal and the car's engine hummed loudly before speeding towards the students.Roughly more than two inches before the car hit them, they all went sprawling to the ground in different directions to avoid being hit by the car.Dr. Giov
"Run!" Trisha said loudly so that the others could hear and yes, they did.Dr. Giovanni was still taking a few seconds to know what had happened behind him and regain control of the situation but although none of the students had prepared for what happened except for maybe Harold who had seen Trisha's wand earlier, they all obeyed what Trisha said. They all began to run for their lives.Their legs swept through the grasses as they took short, quick strides, they plunged into small ditches, too, and the lower part of their legs, were clawed by thorns but they didn't mind. Escape was the only thing their brain could interprete at the moment. They ran for nothing less than four hundred metres before fatigue began to set in."That was brilliant of you, Trisha," Harold said as he and the others kept on moving although not at a pace as fast as they did earlier."Thank... you," she replied amidst pan
Although Francis had said they'll get there in time, they came across many impediments in their way that made them slower and the witches that chased them was just one of the many.Luckily, although the many impediments, none of them was an empty fuel tank. If it was, the least that will have happened is that the speed at which they moved will have been affected momentously. It took them more than a whole day cramped in a seat and driving through the woods before they were able to get anywhere close to Golden Lake University.≈≈≈The sun was already sinking into the sky and when looked at, was nothing more than an orange flashlight that filled the sky by the time Francis and Professor Ericson got to the gates of Golden Lake. They didn't enter, though, as there was no need for that. The students they were out to save were in the woods.Francis looked at the gate longingly as they dro
In the space of five seconds, professor Ericson's wolf had evolved had taken over. His wolf was white furred and the hair that stood out of its muscular frame were long and curly and they swayed gracefully with every touch of the breeze.Francis stood with the fake orb still in his hands as his friend's wolf ran a few metres towards the mountain, raised its head up into the air and sniffed in.After a few sniffs, it ran in the opposite direction, towards the forest and took in the scents that lingered here and there. With the help of the skunk's fart that had been sprayed on the contestants, it was easy for a wolf to spot them out.Professor Ericson's human body surfaced once again."They didn't go up to the mountains. In fact, they barely took any steps in that direction after seeing this bogus orb.""So when it broke they just decided to go back to schoo
The whole place was completely calm. And dark. And the only feeling that could be felt was that of intense fear and bodies nudging one another for comfort.Harold opened his eyes wide and looked around. Yes, everywhere was dark. He couldn't see anything at all."Hello?!" he called out but his voice echoed for a few seconds and that was it.He looked around in utter confusion when his body touched another skin.It was most likely one of his companions but as he tried raising his hands to feel whoever it was, he realized that they were tied. And so were his legs, too, then a jolt of pain coursed through his entire body and with it was the memory of all that had happened. The sides of his face were aching badly like they were burnt and each toe felt a different degree of pain. With each toe from left to right, the pain increased greatly and by the time he got to the last toe on his right leg, it was al
The car swerved through a lot of trees with the skillful driver who happened to be Francis, holding on to the steering wheel with a frown on his face fostered by unwavering focus.A fat tree with extremely thick and long branches spread out by a few metres. It was at the very last minute that the illuminating headlight of the car caught it and for the umpteenth time that night, they managed to survive a collosal accident that'll leave them stranded in the forest."So you believe they were transported to the school?" Francis asked, trying to start up a conversation. The insides of the car was being too serious. Not that it really was any of their faults."I know so," professor Ericson replied just before he swallowed a large lump of saliva that caused the skin around his neck to twitch a little. "Haven't you ever really wondered how Martha was killed? It wasn't here in the forest.""My mental health couldn't carry al
The tall woman with blonde hair who was dressed in an all white gown slowly faced Harold and the others who were nestled close to him like baby birds to their mother and her dark, intimidating and cold eyes settled on him without wavering. The very moment Harold recognised who it was, he felt a large gulp of air got caught in his throat and for the next about give seconds, his heart failed to pump blood to the other parts of his body. His mouth instinctively opened but not a word came forth. He was spellbound.Trisha who noticed his strange expression kept switching from him to the woman then back at Harold whilst casting occasional glances at Dr. Peyton Giovanni for a clue as to what was going on.Dr. Peyton, though, only had a sick smile on his face which although meant that he understood what was going on, was making no effort in explaining it to the others. The others, too: Penelope, Wilkes and
“…Why are you doing this?” Harold asked with dry throats. He had hundreds of other questions which were even far more important but the one he asked was the first to slip out of his mouth. His lips who had minds of their own jittered for some seconds after came to a perfect hush.Sarah looked at Harold and smiled, making her cheekbones half a centimetre higher than normal. Her fore teeth showed a little and glowed with the light that shone from above like they were performing on a stage. “Other than the fact that it is important for your blood to be sacrificed for the continuity of Golden Lake, ending you will be ending a weak Alpha from taking charge of the pack.” Her voice was icy cold and with each syllable, like a Lance, her voice dug into Harold's heart.Better than what he had been told, he knew what she meant. If he, Harold was killed, her own child, Harold's stepbrother, will be the one to take over when he found his mate. She wanted Harold
