Kieran's POV

I did not bother trying to fight the guards that were growling at us. There was no point.

“Who are you, and what's your business here?” One of the wolves asked, snarling at us.

“Do these bastards even trade with other cities?” I asked through a mind link with the rest of my pack.

“All you just have to do is say the word, Alpha. We will have them on their knees in no time,” Gary responded. Even Blue would handle them without stress, but I just wasn't ready for any brutality, especially one that could cost us the packs that could be of great use to us.

“Answer me, or I'll be forced to strike!” The wolf shouted again.

I was about to answer when Nyx's voice broke through.

“Look, we aren't here to fight. In fact, we are here for peace,” she said, showing her hands so that they'd know she's no sort of threat.

“Let us in. We'll conduct our business and be out of here in zero time,” Nyx added.
