Hermosa POV

The expensive perfume of the stranger filled the air—it was strong, commanding. He was definitely an Alpha. Maybe he mistook me for one of the whores.

Moon Goddess, I wasn’t even one. I needed to find help for Cammy before she died—if she wasn’t already dead.

What have I gotten myself into? I breathed heavily.

“Did you come here to mope?!” the stranger’s voice thundered, snapping me out of my thoughts.

“No!” I replied quickly, startled by his harsh tone.

“Undress,” he ordered, voice low and husky.

“I… I can’t,” I said, my voice trembling. Fear crawled under my skin.

“Are you challenging me?” he asked, surprise flickering in his eyes.

“I don’t even know who you are, dammit!” I snapped before catching myself.

“No, I wouldn’t dare,” I corrected hurriedly. If I had a gun, I’d blow his brains out and run, I thought bitterly.

“You don’t need the money?” he pressed, skeptical.

“What… money?” The words slipped out before I could stop them. Too late—I’d given myself away.

I wanted to explain, but a sudden knock interrupted me.

*Bang! Bang!*

“Who is that?” the stranger growled, his patience thinning.

“So sorry, Ragal,” came a voice from outside, deferential and nervous.

“Speak, Morgan!” he barked, irritated.

“It’s a matter of urgency, sir. I can’t say it outside.”

My knees weakened. *Raphael might have found me.* My heart pounded so hard I could hear it in my ears.

“Go away, Morgan,” the stranger snapped. “I’m with the informant.”

“That’s the problem, Ragal. She’s not the informant!”

“What?!” His voice boomed, shaking me to my core. I froze, trembling like a leaf in the wind.

“I’ll get back to you later, Morgan,” he growled.

Then his eyes turned to me, sharp and burning. “Were you trying to trick me?”

“No! I’m not!” I stammered.

“Oh, yes, you are. You wanted to steal my money and run, didn’t you?” His tone dripped with menace. “Turn on the light. I want to see your face.”

My hands shook as I searched for the switch. “Moon Goddess, please,” I prayed silently.

The light flickered on. My heart sank.

“Who are you?!” he barked.

“I—I’m a stripper,” I whispered.

“You’re lying,” he said coldly. “And I hate lies.”

My mouth went dry. I knew that voice. I knew that face.

“Answer me!” he thundered. His brows knitted, his piercing blue eyes burned into mine. His tousled hair framed a dangerously handsome face that could stop hearts—and lives.

My knees buckled. I dropped to the floor, sweat dripping down my face.

He wasn’t just any Alpha. He was the Alpha King—the ruler of all, Ragal, the Lycan King.

My tongue felt frozen. If he knew what I was, he’d kill me. Strip clubs were forbidden in his territories. Rumors said he was hunting them down.

But maybe… maybe he could help me escape Raphael.

“That doesn’t answer my question, little one,” he said, his voice low and cold. “Tell me what the hell you’re doing in my hotel room.”

I hesitated, trying to choose my words carefully. “I’m running away from my mate, my lord,” I said, keeping my eyes on the floor.

“And why would you do that here?” He raised a brow.

“I… I mistakenly came up here,” I lied, praying he wouldn’t see through me.

He scoffed. “You don’t ‘mistakenly’ walk into *my* room unless you have a reason. Are you wearing a wire? Is that why you refused to take off your clothes?”

“It’s the truth,” I said, voice trembling, sweat beading on my forehead.

“I don’t believe you,” he said coldly. “You reek of lies, little wolf. I’ll have your mate brought here to repeat everything you just said.” He turned toward the door.

“Please, sir! I’ll do anything you ask—just don’t call him!” I cried, panic rising in my chest.

“Who is your mate?”

“Raphael… the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack,” I said quietly.

His eyes narrowed. “What are you scared of?”

“He’ll hurt me if he finds me here—with you,” I whispered.

“He won’t hurt you. I won’t allow it.” His tone softened as he reached for the doorknob.

I jumped up, pressing my back against the door. “Please, I’m scared of him. I don’t trust him.”

His gaze softened for a heartbeat, then hardened again. “You should know your place,” he muttered.

“I’m sorry, my King,” I said quickly, bowing.

“You should head back home and settle your differences with him,” he said, suspicion still lacing his tone.

“Yes, my King.” I raised my head, desperate to leave before he changed his mind.

I turned the knob, relief flooding through me as I stepped into the hallway. My breathing began to steady.

“Stop!” Ragal’s voice rang out behind me.

My heart stopped cold.

  • Omega's Curse: Desired by the beast who shouldn't want me    SEVENTY THREE

Hermosa Pov When we reached the car, I tried to think about all the reasons why Rapheal was there.*Had I imagined him?* I thought to myself, staring at the open window where the intruder had just smashed through."Are you okay?" Ragal’s voice snapped me back to reality. "You keep staring at the broken window."I forced a smile. "It’s nothing serious. I was just thinking about the man that had just lost his brother." Before he could say anything further, I quickly pulled the car door open and settled into the backseat. He paused for a while, watching the broken glass before entering the driver’s seat. The sound of crunching shards filled the car as his boots ground them into the floorboards."Shouldn't you dust the seat or something?" I asked genuinely, but he didn't respond. Instead, he started the engine and adjusted the rearview mirror. His shoulders were tensed, and his skin was still smeared with blood. I knew he didn't want me to worry about his wellbeing, but focusing on him w

Hermosa PovI scrambled backward, but there was nowhere to go. My head was spinning, the blood loss making the world tilt. Just as the fingers brushed the fabric of my shirt, a roar that didn’t sound human erupted from the other side of the car. The hand was suddenly yanked back with such force I heard the bone snap against the door frame. Ragal was no longer just a man; he was a storm of teeth and claws."Stay away from her!" he roared, dragging the intruder out of the car. The man scratched at the car’s side in a desperate attempt to hold on, but Ragal was far larger and stronger than him.The intruder let out a loud whimper as Ragal gripped his neck tightly, his claws sinking deep into the man's flesh. From where I sat, I could feel Ragal’s anger like a trail of hot waves, filling me to my core. He was livid and unmatched; I was terrified that he might actually kill the elite. My heart beat fast at the thought of the slaughter; something heavy inside of me revolted against it."I w

Hermosa's POVI leaned my head against the cool glass of the window, watching the trees blur into a dark smudge against the horizon. My arm throbbed where the needle had pierced me—a dull reminder of the life I’d just drained out of myself for people who looked at me like a meal.Ragal’s scent—cedar and something sharp like a coming storm—filled the small space of the car. It was suffocating and comforting all at once. I looked at his hands, gripped so tight on the steering wheel that his knuckles were white. He was terrifying. A King. A warrior. And yet, he had looked at those dying patients with a flicker of something that looked like... guilt?"Why did you do it?" I whispered, the sound barely audible over the roar of the engine. "You could have let them take me, or you could have killed them all. Why risk your crown for a drop of my blood?"He didn't look at me, but the car slowed just a fraction. "Because, Hermosa," his voice was a low growl that vibrated in my chest, "a King wh

  • Omega's Curse: Desired by the beast who shouldn't want me    CHAPTER SEVENTY

Ragal Pov I had turned the car ignition, ready to race away from this patient and the hospital. My whole body tensed up in preparation when her hands touched me from behind. "Let's hear what he has to say," she said in a soft tone, making me relax a bit. She might have a kind heart and all, but sometimes not being guarded could cost you a lot, and I will be damned if that happens to her. He might be lying and I don't trust him. I viciously scowled at the man who said it didn't work. His skin looked the same, but I looked into his eyes and I could tell that those dark pupils of his were slowly fading bit by bit. "Cammy is also in there," she added. "We can't leave her there too. I couldn't tell you because of how you are so protective of me." Do I drag her down to my pack in spite of her stubbornness? Doesn't she know the kind of fucked up risk she was taking? "You are my responsibility, and there's no hell way you are staying back here without guards patrolling everywhere.

  • Omega's Curse: Desired by the beast who shouldn't want me    CHAPTER SIXTY NINE

Ragal PovMy hands shook. I gripped the syringe in one palm, my knuckles white against the plastic. Leo was right—giving her blood to them now would only invite more monsters. Once word got out that her veins held the cure, every bloodsucker in the world would hunt her.I watched the patients standing in a single file. They were a pathetic, broken line of shadows, waiting for their turn. They all had families they wanted to return to. The plague had twisted their limbs and rotted their skin, but looking into their desperate eyes, I knew they deserved humanity.A chance to reclaim their lives back. Hermosa deserved more than that especially after what she's been through. I promise to find the killer that had jumbled up her lifeLeo, I won't sacrifice my mate, I thought firmly. But I will protect her from those who would.I glanced at Hermosa.
