Chapter 19: Angering him

"When did I allow you to stare at my woman in such a manner?" With a growl, Carlo remarked.

Zeke, who had been staring at Catrina, moved his gaze to him.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I had no idea that made you angry."

He responded with a grin, fully aware that Carlo wasn't in the mood for jokes at the moment. But he quickly switched gears and put on a serious face. He was smart enough not to provoke the alpha's anger.

"I'm not going to steal your woman, Carlo. I wouldn't dare anyway." With a grin, he stepped aside, making way for the Alpha to lead Catrina into the party.

Catrina hastily moved her hands away from Carlo's waist. He tightened his grip even further.

"Why did you do that to Zeke?" she asked him. Seeing his expression suddenly darken and become cold

"Did what exactly?"

"You just ruin the pleasant atmosphere, Carlo. You ruined the fun. Zeke is your friend, and he merely expressed his opinion about my beauty? Why were you so bothered by it?"

Catrina had a hard time understanding him.
