Helen, who had just arrived at the same time as her brothers leaving, was shocked when she saw her older brothers leaving the hospital with frosty auras.

"Big brothers!" She called to their attention and wanted to rush over to them, but they looked at her like she was not their sister. They got into their cars and drove off, and Helen was shocked by how her two older brothers had reacted at the sight of her.

They didn't even look sympathetic. They glared at her like she was the cause of her father's illness.

"What's wrong with Dad? Why did brothers Paul and Zion glare at me like that?" Helen muttered, her voice tinged with confusion, but she had no idea. So she made her way and went into the hospital to find out what had happened to her father.

Helen didn't even go to her father's house. She got the hospital address from her mother and came directly to the hospital after she left the university grounds.

The university was a 1-hour drive to the hospital. So Helen had rushed over in hope of seeing her family and getting good news that her father had recovered, but instead, her brothers glared at her and drove off.

Breathing out heavily, Helen went into the hospital to make inquiry about her dad.

"Hello, Mom. I am in the specialist hospital now," Helen said, her voice quavering as she had hurried over to the hospital lobby.

"Alright, I will send Patrick to come and get you now. I hadn't expected that you would take permission and come over to the hospital. Helen, are you still having exams? You don't need to repeat your class because of your father," Mrs. Rosemary said, her voice choked with sobs.

"It's okay, Mom. I know Dad had wanted me to marry Emmanuel Colton, his assistant's son, so that he can entrust him with the company, but I cannot stay back at the university. I still feel guilty for Dad's health. He didn't want me to further my education or study pharmacy about his company and drugs," Helen said, her voice choked with sobs.

"It's okay, Helen. You don't have to blame yourself. Your father's company didn't go bankrupt because of you. It's the Kingstons. Your father was only trying to partner with them to get the Kingston Pharmaceutical to partner with him and to supply him their secret ingredient to make those potent medicines they sell at a million dollars per bottle. But he was scammed of 50 million dollars."

"What? A million dollars per bottle!" Helen trembled, almost collapsing as she walked into the crowded hospital lobby. But a pair of firm hands caught her before she would drop to the floor, and the handsome man steadied her back on her feet.

"Hey, are you alright, miss?" He asked, his eyes watching her face intensely.

Helen was shocked to see the man's hands on her waist as he caught her swiftly despite her chubby size. Her cheeks flushed scarlet because this was the second time that a man was holding her waist in a day. First, it was Samuel, now it was this handsome stranger that resembled John, her nemesis at the university.

"Yeah, I am fine," Helen quickly moved away from the man, but he smiled at her with deep longing in his eyes. However, before the man could react, a pretty blonde lady wearing a dazzling green bodycon dress rushed to meet them and called after the man, "Babe! You have me here as we came to see your grandmother. Who is that chubby woman that you are holding?"

The man straightened his posture and looked coldly at the young lady for shouting so uncultured.

"Quinn, if you want us to remain friends, mind how you speak to me in public," the man walked away, and Helen saw Quinn glare at her before she acted sweetly before the man.

"I am sorry, Shadrack. But you know that I get jealous when I see you with another woman. Let's go; your grandmother is on the fourth floor."

Helen stood watching them walk away before her own brother arrived and escorted her to the room where her father was.

"How is Dad?" Helen asked Caleb, but he looked at her without saying anything.

Caleb was still shocked that his father had given his company to Helen instead of him or his other brothers.

"Brother Caleb," Helen tried to speak to her brother to calm her racing heart and stop thinking about Samuel, but she couldn't stop thinking about him. She pondered how Samuel was able to create a medicine and also be the medical expert that their lecturers mostly spoke of working with him in the laboratory. But she hadn't seen the expert before. How did Samuel get to hide his talent away from them? Was it because of his father's company? Or was he protecting his father's pharmaceutical so that no one would learn his style of producing and mixing drugs?

Helen's heart raced, but she saw that Caleb didn't want to say hi to her like Paul and Zion.

"What's wrong with my brothers? Is Dad's case worse? Will this medicine that Chancellor Katherine gave me work?" Helen pondered in her mind, but she didn't ask Caleb anything again. As she silently followed him to the second-floor private male ward where her father was admitted.

Her father was in ICU. He couldn't breathe on his own, and a ventilator was connected to his nostrils.

Helen's body trembled when she saw the state that her father was in.

"Dad," she hurried over to his bed, her eyes filled with tears as she saw how her father looked pale on the bed and not the vibrant man that she used to know.

"Mom, what happened to Dad?" Helen asked, her eyes filled with tears, and her mother lowered her head.

"I don't know. He was rushed to this place from the company since last weekend. Your father has been in admission here, but he is getting paler and weaker," Rosemary said, tearfully, and Helen's eyes reddened the more.

"Last week? Why didn't you tell me?" Helen asked, shocked that she hadn't learned the news of her father's illness.

"We wanted to, but you were having an exam, and I didn't want to trouble you with it. But your father is getting worse, and I think it's best to let you know. Can you do anything to help him? You are studying medicine, right? Do you know any stroke cure to treat your dad? I do not want to turn into a widow at this age. I still want your father around," Rosemary asked, her voice filled with sobs as she cried and pleaded with her only daughter.

"Mom, I do not have any medicine of my own, but…"

"But what?" Rosemary asked, her heart racing faster like she was about to collapse, and Patrick glared at Helen and signaled her with his eyes not to say anything silly to their mother.

Helen breathed out, brought out her bag from over her shoulder, and pulled the school bag open. She brought out the medicine and said, "This is a potent medicine. Chancellor Katherine said that I should give Dad only a tablespoon, and he will be fine."

"Mom, where's Dad?" Ruth asked as she walked up to the dining table to meet her mother."He went upstairs. You should go and call him," Stacey said as she set up the dinner around the table."Alright, Mom," Ruth replied happily as she darted back to the stairs and went to the top floor to call her father. Her loud voice resonated in the mansion."Dad, dinner is ready!" Ruth shouted, her voice echoing on the top floor. She was the baby of the house and very playful too.Meanwhile, Samuel took his seat on the chair, and his mother looked at him and smiled."Samuel, is everything alright?" She peered at him curiously."Of course, Mom. I am fine," he replied with a calm voice, and his mother assured him, "Don't worry. I will speak with your father later."Samuel gave a nod and waited for his father to join him for dinner. Meanwhile, Stacey walked out of the kitchen after she was done setting up dinner. She walked up to meet her husband and asked him, "Honey, aren't you being too harsh and judgmental on Samuel? I asked him why he helped the Roberts' family heiress, and he said that he just helped her because she is more intelligent than him and the one who scored the highest in his department.""And you believe him? This explains to you why you should warn him to stay away from that family. Mr. Henry Roberts has fine medicines, even if they don't work as actively as ours; they are still potent and sold at a cheaper rate. I have warned Samuel. If I get to find out that he is dating that Roberts' daughter, I will deal with her on my own.""Honey, you will not commit any crime. What will you do to her?" Stacey looked at her husband worriedly."That's left for me to do. Just warn Samuel not to disclose our business to other families. I am not stopping him from continuing his studies because he needs the cer

Stacey breathed out heavily and replied, "That's fine. You should stay away from Helen and don't have anything to do with her. I do not like her, and I will not approve of your affair with her. She is too chubby and will get old easily."Samuel's eyes widened in surprise as he picked up an apron to tie around his neck, but his mother stopped him."What are you trying to do? You just got back from the university, and you're tying the apron. Don't worry; I will make dinner alone," Stacey said, her hand reaching to stop Samuel from tying the apron."You should go and have your bath upstairs. I will make dinner alone," Stacey said, her voice soft, but Samuel shook his head and replied, "No, Mom. I want to help you. I want to learn how to cook so that I can cook for my wife in the future."Stacey's eyes widened in shock at Samuel's statement. She smiled and replied, "Alright. But definitely not that chubby girl from the Roberts family."Samuel smiled as his hands reached for the apron agai

"Wow! That was close! I hadn't expected the crowd. Oh no! I didn't get this from the Kingstons," Helen said, after Senator Jerry had left with his security escort. Her heart was still pounding so loud in her chest.Mrs. Rosemary smiled at her daughter and replied, "It's fine, Helen. What matters is that you saved your father's life.""Alright, Mom," Helen breathed out heavily. Just then, she got a message alert that her food had arrived, but she was nervous to leave the hospital room."I will help you get it, sister," Patrick offered, as he was relieved to see his father was fine and better. The physiotherapist doctor had come to check on him and said he would resume his physiotherapy the following day before he got discharged from the hospital.Helen was grateful as she gave her older brother her phone to receive the two meals that she had ordered. "Dad, all that aside, where do we get the money to pay up the 50 million dollars that you lost, and who is the man that scammed you? You need to help the police with their investigation," Patrick said, as he had already hired two security men to stand by his father's hospital room door."You're right. I will give you all his information after I am done eating," Mr. Henry replied, while Patrick sighed with relief.Helen was famished, so she went to sit down on the chair that her mother had stood up from."Mom, why were brothers Paul, Zion, and Caleb mad at me when I arrived earlier?" She asked, her eyes fixated on her parents' faces.Patrick and their mother, Rosemary, frowned after they heard Helen's inquiry."Helen, it's because your father willed his company to you," Rosemary replied calmly."What?" Helen's heart softened under her mother's warm embrace. She hadn't expected that her father would automatically recover and even be able to talk and move his hands and legs on his own—something that he had not been able to do on his own before."Helen, do you have anything to say to the media? What university did you study with? Is it the well-known renowned University of Science in this city?" An interviewer asked, and Helen got to realize that it was because her father's company went bankrupt, and it was announced on the news that he was owing hundreds of workers' salaries. Not just that, some other hospitals that he was supposed to supply his medicine to, he failed to meet up with the supply. But now that he had been miraculously cured, they hoped that Helen would take over Roberts Pharmaceutical and distribute the medicine to other hospitals with other stroke victims too."Miss Helen!
