Walking back into the house, my mind raced with different possibilities, things that Marcus could do if he wielded so much power such as this. I had no doubt that he was going to carry out his threat because if there was one thing I knew about people like him, it was that they didn’t bluff. They knew the risks attached to whatever it was they wanted to do and they didn’t care whose ox is gored, especially when it came to doing exactly what they said they would do.

It was scary thinking about it but at the same time, this just gave us an advantage because for one, we knew where the threat was going to come from and we could be adequately prepared and secondly, we knew what we must do. Marcus wasn’t going to ruin all the plans I had prepared, I would rather die than allow him to do that.
