Davies's POV

I stared at the red-faced wolf before me. She looked cute and I swore I wouldn't have stopped kissing her if she had truly accepted me. She tasted heavenly and I can't seem to get enough of her.

“ At least I have fulfilled one of your wishes," I teased, watching her grow even more embarrassed.

And angry.

It was as though she was going to have my head on a platter of gold. I could feel the murderous aura in the air and I felt fulfilled. I finally had my own revenge on her, so, with a sinister smile I ignored her furious question and made my way out of the tent.

Feeling satisfied.

Honestly, I felt quite relieved with the whole thing. She seemed to have learnt her lesson even though it almost cost us both our lives. And perhaps, memories that were better left untouched.

Those memories were more like a real haunted house and I dread encountering it again.

It reminded me of how much I missed my parents and also all the hardship I went through. I felt hurt and broken at first,

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Looking Like A Fool

Stephanie’s POVGood gracious! What in heaven's name was going on. A while ago, I was expressing my displeasure about Gregory’s recent act, fast forward to now, I was the one being slammed with questions. Not just any questions but concerning my relationship with Davies. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting that question from him, not here and not now. Why would he even ask that in the first place? Pressing my lips into a thin line, I shot my gaze out of the window, trying desperately to bottle in all of my feelings. The more I thought of it, the more livid I became and I was practically losing my mind. “Since you are refusing to answer, I will take it that my assumption is true after all.” Gregory broke the silence in the car and immediately, I shifted my gaze at him. "What?” I gasped, my tone barely above a whisper. The sound of my doubled heartbeat was slamming against my eardrum furiously. “You heard me.” He replied, his voice calm as usual and for his gaze, it never left the ro

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Nothing Going On Between Us

Alpha Gregory’s POVAfter breakfast which was eaten in silence, I set out with Stephanie and the kids.It had been days since I left my pack and even though Frank had been holding out well in my absence, I still feel the need of returning. Most especially because I felt insecure with the presence of Davies. I didn't want anything that would make Stephanie leave me and cling to him. With that settled, we got into the car and then set off for our pack. The silence in the car was suffocating. The kids who should have made the atmosphere a bit lively were asleep. Last night, they had been up, giving Stephanie a hard time as she tried to keep them under control. Staring straight ahead, I gripped the steering wheel tighter than necessary. Though my eyes were on the road my thoughts were elsewhere. Even with Stephanie by my side, I still felt threatened. Their silent communication was driving me insane, they didn't need words to understand what the other was saying. The thought made me

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   End Up Losing My Sanity

Stephanie’s POVSince I left Gregory’s side, I had resumed looking around the maze-like building for Davies but it was to no avail. At first, I didn't want to get the domestic staff involved but seeing I will not be able to find him without their help, I had no choice but to do so. Even at that, no one could tell me his whereabouts, leaving me even more frustrated.Rubbing my neck which was still aching slightly, I was retracing my steps when I saw him through the window. All the while I had been searching for him, he wasn't in the building. He was walking down the path that led to the main building with his head buried. Doubling my footsteps, I rushed towards the main door just when he was letting himself in. “You just disappeared after leaving the table.” I said in a breath, my hands folded in front of me, my voice quieter than I meant it to be.“Are you okay?" I asked, peering into his eyes. The fact tha

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Need To Clear My Head

Alpha Gregory’s POVI tried to act indifferent, like I wasn't bothered by anything. My expression was neutral, my voice steady and my steps even. But inside, I was burning. I was like a caged beast that was yearning for freedom. After leaving the dining room that morning, I went to the east end of the building where no one lived. . I wanted to be alone and also empty my heart which was heavy but I couldn't. With my hands tucked inside my pockets, I paced the length and breadth of the little space, my jaws tightened and fists clenched in my pockets. The old seeker's last smirk was still embedded in memory no matter how hard I tried to shake it off. The look on his face didn't look like that of a defeated man, instead, he wore the look of someone who knew something I didn't. And that scared the hell out of me each time I recalled the scene. All my life, I had always believed in transparency especi

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   You Did Nothing Wrong

Stephanie’s POVThe following morning, I woke up to the sound of the kids babbling. They sounded excited and I got curious. Pulling myself up, I shifted my gaze to the cot only to see Gregory hovering over them. He was grinning widely as he played with the kids. He was acting in contrast to the way he had acted last night. Relieved that he had returned to normalcy, I threw my feet off the bed, waddling my way towards them. “Hey,” I said to get his attention. He only nodded but didn’t say anything to me. Shrugging off the thought making rounds in my head, I groped my way towards the bathroom to clean up. Soon it was breakfast and the maid came to fetch us. I was already heading out when I discovered Gregory wasn’t tagging along. He was standing behind the window now that the kids were asleep. “Aren’t you coming down for breakfast?” I asked, my tone mild so as not to tick him off. Whatever it is that’s the problem, I had to th

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Happy For Her

Davies’s POVAt the seekers' lair, the moment Stephanie stepped out with the kids, I wanted to rush to her side and give her a bear hug but somehow, I was able to hold back from doing so.And when she ran to Gregory immediately, my heart shredded into a million pieces. So as not to dwell on the scene playing right beside me, I busied myself watching the fire that was rising into the sky.To keep Stephanie close, I had offered to host them for the night and to my delight, he accepted without making a fuss.Even with her presence and the fire crackling in the fireplace of the bar, the house was cold. With my back turned on them, I kept my gaze out of the windows as my heart clenched against my chest. Stephanie tried all she could to lighten the mood but Gregory was distant and just the same way she was hurt with his attitude, so was I. Pushing my hand into my pockets, I swirled around. It was then I discovered Stephanie had left Gregory to himself and I was glad she did. Was I happy
