My wife cheats on me after five years of marriage. Standing at the doorway, I hear her whisper to her lover in a soft voice, "What are you afraid of? He's broke and pathetic. Do you think that he dares to divorce me?" I tighten my grip on the lottery ticket in my hand. I have just won 60 million dollars a moment ago. This time, I will see who is the broke and pathetic one!

Chapter 1

I gave in to a coworker's persuasion and bought a lottery ticket while I was on my way to deliver food to a customer.

Perhaps heaven finally decided to favor me, as I won 60 million dollars.

I was at a loss for words when the notification appeared on my phone, instructing me to claim the prize. All I knew was that I was overwhelmed with excitement.

God was finally on my side for once.

I sprinted home and couldn't wait to share the good news with my wife, Morrigan Frost.

I had told her that I might be busy and wouldn't be able to come home for lunch before leaving the house that morning.

Now, I wanted to surprise her.

We had been married for so many years and living a hard life. She could finally enjoy life with me now.

However, I didn't expect to see a pair of men's leather shoes on the shoe rack the moment I opened the door.

The shoes were clean and polished. They obviously belonged to a businessman. I had spent all my spare time doing delivery jobs, and I rarely bought shoes like that for convenience.

A strange suspicion crept up in my mind. I knew I shouldn't think that way about my wife. After all, she had been with me for so many years. I knew what kind of person she was.

Yet, I still instinctively tiptoed into the house slowly.

The living room was quiet. My wife, who would normally be cleaning at this hour, was nowhere to be seen.

I was just about to call out to her when a sound came from the room.

This was an old apartment with terrible soundproofing. If someone was making too much noise, we could still hear it even from far away.

I slowed my pace and headed for the bedroom.

I saw men's and women's clothes scattered all over the floor before I even reached the door. I immediately knew exactly what was going on.

I couldn't believe my eyes. Had my gentle and well-behaved wife cheated on me?

I forced myself to stay calm and tried not to get too worked up. I couldn't jump to conclusions until I saw her inside, even though everything already pointed to the truth.

I got closer to the door. Whoever was inside must have been too busy with their activities because they hadn't even closed the door properly and had left a narrow gap.

I saw clearly through the gap that it was my wife.

The two of them were tangled together. The sounds that I heard earlier were coming from her.

I recognized the man immediately. It was my best friend, Dylan Shaw.

A chill immediately ran through my whole body.

I stood frozen at the doorway. They couldn't see me because of the angle.

It was at that moment that I saw her true colors.

Dylan asked her, "Look at you, looking all desperate. What if Cedric finds out about us? Aren't you afraid?"

My wife gasped for breath as she replied, "Afraid of what? So what if that loser finds out? You think he has the guts to divorce me? He doesn't even know his own worth. He's just pathetic!"

I clenched the lottery ticket in my hand after hearing those words. The pathetic loser she was talking about had just won 60 million dollars and had been wanting to share the happiness with her…

I had misjudged her, and I found myself utterly ridiculous right now.

I went through more than most people did in a lifetime in just a few hours. I had won a massive lottery prize, but my wife cheated on me.

I sat on the park bench and pondered for a long time.

I hated my wife's betrayal and my friend's treachery. They had always acted decently in front of me. Who would've thought they would speak about me like that behind my back?

I stared at a snail crawling slowly by my feet as a plan quietly formed in my mind.

They couldn't blame me for being unrighteous since they showed no mercy toward me at all.

I went to my company and submitted my resignation. The resignation process was fast since the company had been considering layoffs anyway. I settled everything in less than two hours.

Then I went to the bank and applied for a new card. There was no way I was going to share a single cent of that lottery money with someone so ungrateful. She didn't deserve it.
