LOGINMy son was born three months later. His name is Lucius. He was so brilliant and independent.
I was truly fortunate to have people who stood around me. Who are willing to help and access me financially and otherwise.
I couldn't have done it on my own even though I'm financially stable. Lucius got everything he needed.
Alex and Pamela always treated him as if he was their own biological son ,they constantly got him anything he asked for including clothes, and sometimes and also picked him from school anytime I was not available. He was adorable and at the same time had the same ocean eye as his father. He looked nothing like him.

When Lucius turned a year old,I went back to school where I was studying and at the same time learning more about drugs. because I always wished to become a medical doctor.
I finally graduated and I couldn't find a job.I wanted to focus more on the drugs which I have been learning.
Lucius and I had always agreed to visit the shelter every Saturday morning.
Lucius was now four years old,and was just a little sweet boy. He had also learnt how to speak properly .
Because I didn't have a car, I leased a pharmacy near his school to take him to pre-school every morning and pick him up every day.
Alex and Pamela married last year and got a house. On Sunday, Alex and Pamela were hosting a party and I was invited.
My son and I took a cab to Alex’s house after visiting the pharmacy.
We were the only ones there, with the expectation of a few of Alex's friends. Since we were always always looked down on as orphans. Pamela and I had never been good at making friends.
Due to how cold the weather was outside, we chose to stay inside and watch television.Lucius was outside with Alex and his friends.
We weren't paying attention to what was on TV or will I say what was being said on the television as we were busy gisting about work.
Then I heard it ,It has now been confirmed Jordan the Zillionaires business is known longer reachable, and that he had been engaged.
When I saw Jordan's picture on television, my jaw dropped wildly. I wasn't in the mood. “He was engaged, so he had been dating someone for a whole good five years. So that is why he abandoned me and left me in that manner”.
I screamed. I wasn't able to control myself anymore. It was as though I'd seen a ghost.I never wanted to believe what I saw, but not to say ,it was true. I was just meant to be a night stand to him. Why did I make such a big deal out of it? I quickly wiped my tears. At least I know he is alive. Whenever Lucius asks about his father I can comfortably tell him he is alive but unable to join us. That's better than telling him I'm not sure whether he is alive or died.
After the party we came home. I bathed and put Lucius to bed.
As soon as I walked into the next room I started crying, forgetting to shut the door.
What drove him to do such a thing to me?
He had prior experience,he could have pulled out or at least use a condom at the very least .
I was in so much pain and kept crying that I didn't notice Lucius had been staring at me for a long time.
Then his voice broke out.
“Mom, are you crying?”.he said, walking towards me.
My heart sank immediately. The moment I heard his voice, I quickly turned away and wiped my tears. Then I forced a fake smile onto my face before looking back at him.
“I'm not crying. I said touching his head "why aren't you sleeping”?.
He didn't say a word. instead, he sat beside me and gently tried to wipe his small, thin arms around my waist, comforting me in the only way he knew how.
I appeared to be well throughout the day, but I knew I was drained. He had a girlfriend,so he should have been responsible. At the very least,I now accept and acknowledge my unimportance .
I'm not going to bother him anymore.
His absence has been beneficial to my son and I in many ways, we have been able to get by without him .
He is completely unaware that he is now a father.I dove my son to school the following day and headed to my office.
Due to the increase in customers, my shop was almost always full, and I found it difficult to attend to everyone on my own. I needed extra help to keep things running smoothly. After careful consideration, I employed Joan and Logan, both of whom were outstanding workers. Their dedication and efficiency made a huge difference, helping me manage the growing number of customers without feeling overwhelmed.
I was at my office attending to a patient when I had a call on my phone. It was Lucius' teacher. She said my son was hospitalized. Without waiting to know the reason I left for his school. My son had never been hospitalized.
When I arrived at the hospital Lucius was in bad shape and his body was all swollen.I wonder what could be the reason because I have never seen my child in such condition.
He was frantically scratching his whole body; he began to cry, everyone stared at me as I raced in.
I accidentally bumped into someone, and dropped my belongings down while apologizing to her. I heard Lucius put down and gather the items I dropped. He was seriously in pain as he kept crying and scratching his body .He had never fallen sick before.
To my surprise, a lady immediately made a phone call and ordered me to follow her immediately. Which I did. We entered the ward which was equipped with everything.
I shifted my gaze to the doctor.
“I'm sorry, I didn't make a reservation for the PIV ward.”
“Don't worry ma,everything has been taken care of”.
.
“By whom?" I asked in a scare tone.
“I did”. said the young lady I met earlier.
“You don't have to ma”.I said with a fake smile wildly on my face.
“It's okay, the main thing is for your child to treated.”
“ But if you want to pay me, you can let him visit me some days at my house l live with my mom and It's quite not far from here”.
“Thank you very much. I will definitely bring him to you”.the doctor interrupted our conversation and ask
What caused the reaction is pretty bad.
They ate chickpea curry and brinjals according to their teachers. Because I have never cooked that before.
Chickpie and brinjals are two foods I despise. So I was completely unaware that Lucius was allergic to it.
Assist me in removing his shirt the doctor said .I noticed Lucius birthmark had been observed by the young lady, then I began to worry if it was her first time seeing a baby with such birth mark. Then I heard her enquire
“Do you have a birth mark like this” ?
“No, I'm not affiliated with the birth mark. Maybe it should be from his father or someone from his family, or maybe even mine but I'm not sure”.
She looked at me with a smile, and I smiled back even though I did understand what that smile was all about .
The atmosphere was so thick with tension it felt like a funeral announcement had just been made. Every soul in the room held their breath, eyes darting between Jordan and Vivian as the silence stretched like a rubber band pulled too tight, threatening to snap at any moment.Jordan stood completely still, his jaw clenched, his mind racing. He couldn't tell her where he had been he knew he couldn't. The moment those words left his lips, everything would unravel. And with Vivian, nothing ever unraveled quietly. She was not that kind of woman.Vivian had never been soft. Never been the type to let things slide or look the other way. When it came to the things she wanted, the things she felt belonged to her, she fought with a ferocity that left people breathless and speechless all at once. Jordan had always known this about her. He had simply hoped today would be different. It wasn't."We need an answer, Jordan." Her voice was measured, deliberate, cutting through the silence like a blade.
The moment Jordan saw her, his heart dropped to his feet.He moved toward her without thinking, legs carrying him before his mind could catch up and when they finally stood face to face, neither of them spoke. Words felt too small, too fragile for everything that had piled up between them. Seconds stretched into something that felt like years, the air between them thick with unspoken things."I'm so sorry, Mary. I "Before the words could fully leave his lips, she reached out and pulled him inside, closing the door behind them with a soft click that somehow felt louder than it should. Then she looked at him, really looked at him and whatever wall she had spent months carefully building crumbled all at once, brick by painful brick. She kissed him.It was quick, desperate, and over before it truly began. She pulled back and moved to the far side of the room, wrapping her arms around herself like she could physically hold her feelings in place. Like if she pressed hard enough, they would
Mary's POVThe night was a heavy one.I could not sleep. The thought of what had happened at Lucius's school played through my mind on a loop, refusing to give me any peace. I lay there staring at the ceiling, turning it over and over until the darkness outside my window began to soften into grey.It was Sophia. It had to be. She was the only one who knew which school Lucius attended. I remembered that clearly from the hospital incident. I whispered it to myself like a conclusion, like saying it out loud would somehow settle the unrest inside me.It did not.I gave up on sleep and went to check on my baby.Lucius was already awake when I pushed his door open. He saw me come in and did not move. He just sat there on his bed, still and quiet, watching me with eyes that did not quite look like his own. No running toward me. No arms reaching up. No morning hug. That alone told me something was wrong.Lucius always gave me a morning hug.I moved closer slowly, the way you approach somethin
Sophia's POVThe stick felt heavy in her hand. She stood behind Vivian, still as a shadow, watching, waiting. Every word Vivian had thrown at her the day before was still ringing so loudly in her head that her hand had tightened around the stick on its own. She wanted to strike her. She wanted to hit her so hard that every cruel word would shatter like glass. But then a thought crept in quietly, the way guilt always does. What would happen to me if I hurt her? How would Jordan feel? How would Grandma feel? She exhaled slowly, loosened her grip, and let the stick fall silently to the ground.No. I will not stoop to her level. She moved closer and placed both hands firmly on Vivian's shoulders.Vivian jumped so violently that her phone flew from her hands and hit the ground with a loud crack. She spun around, her chest heaving, her eyes wide with panic until they landed on Sophia's face. The fear did not leave her eyes. It only shifted into something else. But Sophia was no longer focus

"Where did you see him? What... what made you see him?" she said, her voice laced with fear, as if something terrible had happened.I never wanted to tell her the whole story, but her question pulled it out of me like a thread unraveling a sweater. There was no going back now."Pamela, listen," I said, exhaling slowly as I gathered my thoughts. The look on her face said it all she was furious. I could tell just by the way her expression hardened, the way her jaw tightened and her eyes narrowed into something cold and sharp."I told you not to allow strangers near him! Not only did you disobey me, but you went as far as letting her spend the night with her!""That was the only decision I could make at that moment," I fired back, my voice steady despite the guilt tugging at my chest. "You were not around, Pamela. He could not have spent the whole day alone. Besides, I could not take him with me I did not want anyone disturbing me, and it was an emergency ward. He could have contracted a
