CHAPTER 63 People in love

“How long will you be gone?”Calvin asked.

“A week or more.”I replied.

“Don’t worry,bro.I’ll take care of Jayden and Rose.”He drawled.

The way he pronounced Rose’s name made me frowned.

“Rose is in her late forties and too kind to be with you,”I reminded.

“Why are you telling me that?I have no interest in older women.”

“Yeah sure.Kayla had been away for some years.You and I know you’ve been with so many women in her absence…both old and young.”I teased.

“Well,that’s all in the past now.I’ve changed.“

“That’s your business anyway.Please do take care of Jayden.“

“I definitely will.”

I smiled thinking of his adorable face…

After Tessa left me…my life had fallen apart.

I didn’t want to do anything with myself but then he came into my life and gave it a meaning.

Two days after Declan and I had sex which had drove me into a frenzy.I laid on my bed listening to some soothing music.

I was trying not to fall asleep because Audrey was on her way here.

My doorbell rang.

Finally!

I got up and hurried up to the door.

Opening it,I frowned to see that it was Declan.

Not again.

I hurriedly made to shut the door but he stopped me.

I was clearly no match for him.

I moved back and crossed my arms over my chest.

I was on a nightie and I had no underwear underneath.

I felt nervous recalling how he took me that night.

Was he here to take me again?

“What do you want?”I asked.

“I’m going on a business trip tomorrow and I wanted to see you before I go.”He said looking at me.

“See me?In the middle of the night?And it’s high time you stop showing up in my house unannounced.”

“Unannounced?Will you agree to see me if I had called in advance?I even thought you wouldn’t open up earlier and I was contemplating breaking down the door but I didn’t do that.”

My eyes widened.”Break down my door?”

He retorted,calmly.”I will get it fixed afterwards.”

“Get out!Now!”I ordered.

He grinned and started walking up to me…

I moved back,nervously.

I matched his forward movements with a backward one.

I can’t get conered by him…I can’t let him gain control of my willpower again.

I turned and hurried into the kitchen.

My eyes caught sight of a small knife…I picked it up and ran up to him.

I had no plans of using it on him.

I can’t hurt him but I just wanted him to scare him away from me.

He burst out laughing.

“What’s so funny?”I asked.

I expect him to be scared right now.

“Can you actually hurt me with that?”He asked.

“Yes.”

Suddenly,he took off his suit jacket and began to undo the buttons of his shirt.

This man would be the death of me.

“If hurting me with that will make you feel better….do it.”

I swallowed staring at his bare chest.

I was simply trying to scare him?

Why was he stirring up my emotions again?

He chuckled and reached out…

He grabbed my wrist.

“You can’t hurt me with that.Stop trying to convince yourself that you can.”

“Who says I can’t?”I argued,helplessly.

He took the knife from my hand and I fumed.

I just don’t want to be his sexmate.

How on earth can I protect myself from this man?

When he went to the kitchen to drop the knife.

I sank down on my sofa,ruefully.

He walked back out and smirked at me.
