LOGIN"Omg!! So much dust!" I complained.
Jen, on the other hand, just coughed because of the dust brought by the tricycle. "Omy G!! Girls, what happened to you!" Jen and I immediately looked behind us and saw Ate Samantha, all dressed up. "Well, because they didn’t drive us here, they made us ride a weird car," I said to Ate Sam. "What is weird car?" she asked me, puzzled. "It’s buz, na-uh bes? Ah vaz? Whatever, something like that," Jen said. Ate Sam slapped her forehead because of what Jen said. "It’s bus, idiots!" she told us. "Fix yourselves because you look like you’ve been r*p*d by ten street guys with those messy faces. And who’s the fool who wears expensive clothes and carries that many suitcases?" she scolded us. I just rolled my eyes, while Jen shrugged in response. We got into her car, and we headed to the house where Ate Sam lived. "Girls, Madam Luz has rules," she told us. "Here we go again," I muttered, frowning. "She told me: First, I can’t help you when you’re struggling with your work. Second, you’re not allowed to come here and sleep here if you have problems at work—the guard will drive you away. Third, you can’t go to the office or company when you run out of money. You have no fallback here. That’s the limit of my contract with you. So do your best and don’t be a headache to your new boss," she explained. "Whatever, I know our work will be easy. Jen and I even worked at a bar," I said. "Yeah, and I know it’s office work now, so it’ll be easier," Jen added, and we high-fived. "Let’s see. Good luck with your new job, and I hope it’s really as easy as you say," Ate Sam said with a smile. I swallowed hard at her words, but I didn’t really think about it much. "We’re here. Fix yourselves, and please don’t wear clothes like that!" she said irritably. I just shrugged again, got out of the car, and we entered the mansion. "Hays, it’s been so long since I came back here, and you even changed the design," I said, sitting on the sofa. "Stand up and get dressed, Astrid. There’s no time," Ate Sam ordered authoritatively. "But Ate Sam, I still want to sit and eat something nice," I said, craving food. "Hays, Astrid, I hope when you enter that mansion, you’ll fix your mindset because you’re so hard-headed. Everyone around you is already fed up," she said. I just shrugged again, ignoring her words. "Bring some food here," she ordered the house helpers. They rushed to get food. Jen sat beside me, rubbing her stomach—she was clearly hungry too since we had vomited a lot earlier. "I’m so hungry, Ate Sam. Do you know how much we threw up earlier in the buz?" Jen said dramatically. "That’s why here, I’ll feed you. I’d be ashamed not to, with madams like you," she said sarcastically. I just laughed at her sarcastic tone. The food arrived, and Jen and I stared at it hungrily. I grabbed a lot and started eating nonstop. "It’s not obvious you’re hungry," Ate Sam remarked. "Just shut up and watch us eat like pigs," I told her. Jen didn’t say anything anymore—she just kept eating. I didn’t care if I looked like a baby, as long as I was full. After a while, we finally stopped eating because we were stuffed. "So girls, you’re done eating and resting. Now get dressed. These will be your uniforms. No complaints—it’s Madam Luz’s orders. Put your clothes here, and each of you will carry one bag only," Ate Sam said. Jen and I widened our eyes at the bags in front of us. "Is this for real?" I said, shocked. "We look like grannies in that outfit, Ate Sam. You’re making us look like Grandma," Jen said. Jen always called her grandma sometimes, since we’ve been best friends since childhood. "You have no choice but to wear them. Otherwise, I’ll send you home to clean the pig cage for two years. Do you agree?" she threatened. I immediately stood up and grabbed the clothes. Better to look like a granny than clean cages. I dressed up and styled myself a bit to keep some fashion sense. I put on light makeup and came out. "Now you look presentable, like real employees. So let’s go to your workplace," Ate Sam said. Jen and I nodded and followed her to the car. The driver started it, and after a few minutes, we arrived at our workplace. We were in pants, rubber shoes, oversized clothes, and glasses. Same with Jen. Good thing we managed to put on makeup since we both had ponytails. "Follow me," Ate Sam said. We followed, carrying the bags that looks like old and almost torn. As we step at the gate I was amazed at the mansion we entered. I thought maybe I’d work here as a secretary or personal assistant. The big door opened, and an old woman with raised eyebrows immediately greeted us. "Are these them, Sam?" she asked, looking at Jen and me from head to toe. She looked scary, so Jen and I swallowed nervously. "Meet Astrid and Jenifer Mayora. These are your new maids," Ate Sam said. Jen and I widened our eyes at her words. "What!!" we shouted in unison, staring at each other. We were about to protest, but they dragged us inside the mansion. "Bye-bye girls, good luck on your first day!" Ate Sam shouted, laughing. This can’t be!! I’m going to die!!“APOLLO’S POV” Everything that’s happening right now is still a puzzle to me. I don’t know who or what she really is. Those questions are still stuck in my head. I sighed because I suddenly keep asking things without thinking about what I’m saying. She might notice that I’m still suspicious about their identity—close call. I stood up, about to follow Astrid, when Shaun suddenly spoke. “You’re not serious, are you?” Shaun said. I looked at him, frowning at his question. Psh. This is exactly what I mean. “What are you talking about? Of course I’m serious,” I replied, about to leave when he spoke again. “Give her some space, don’t go there,” Shaun said. I wanted to punch Shaun, but I listened because he had a point. Astrid is still in a stressed state—I don’t want to add to it. “Apollo, it’s not all about you. It’s not all about your loved ones’ safety. What about them? I can read your actions—don’t put Astrid in danger. They won’t do anything to you,” Shaun told me.
I don’t know how to react to what’s happening right now because I didn’t expect this. I don’t even know any enemies of Grandma here—I am innocent. “Hey, let us go!” I shouted, because Jenifer and I were both tied to a very dirty chair. Couldn’t they at least clean it before making us sit there? “What do you even want from us, omg! We’re just freaking maids!! What could you possibly get from us, are you out of your mind!!” Jenifer said angrily, thrashing around. “Shut up already, you’re too noisy!” snapped the bald man’s companion who had grabbed us. “You don’t have the right to shut our mouths because you’re the ones who dragged us here. You don’t even know us, idiots,” I retorted. “Gag them, they’re too noisy. You can let them talk later when Ma’am arrives,” he ordered. I wondered who this “Ma’am” they were talking about could be. My mind refused to process everything that was happening—I couldn’t understand it. “Mhmmmm!!” Jenifer groaned while struggling. “Be quiet!”
We were at the shore, just staring blankly at the waves crashing against the sand. I wanted to swim, but my body didn’t seem to agree. “I–I’m so tired. I don’t feel like doing anything right now,” Jenifer said in a bored tone. I felt the same—so bored. Ever since our conversation, Jenifer and I kept thinking about our feelings. Every single day, these emotions kept bothering us. “Did you get any answers yet?” she asked me. I looked at her and shook my head. I hadn’t found any answers from all my staring and watching the waves. “Ah!! G! Have mercy on us!” Jenifer cried, almost in tears. I wanted to laugh at her antics—she was practically ready to bury her face in the sand. “Crazy. Maybe we should just let our feelings be. We can’t do anything about them anyway, they’re already here,” I sighed. “Ahh!! No way, this isn’t right! We need to clear our feelings, or else we might gamble on the wrong person and end up hurt,” she insisted. She had a point. We could get hurt if
I smiled when Astrid finally left. Right away, I grabbed my phone and called my private investigator. “Hello, Sir,” he greeted me. “Prepare some chocolates and a bouquet of flowers,” I said with a grin. “Copy, Sir,” he replied before ending the call. I quickly stood up and rushed to take a shower. I didn’t realize it would be this easy to make her dance to my tune. I just want to know the truth—I want to uncover her real identity. While showering, I couldn’t help but think about what happened between us last night. A smile crept onto my face. “Sh*t, Apollo, that’s not allowed,” I scolded myself. “You can’t fall in love with that girl. Everything is just an act!” I reminded myself to snap out of it. Afterward, I got dressed and sprayed on a heavy amount of perfume, wanting her to catch my scent even from afar. “Hey.” I turned to see who called me. “Where are you going?” Brix asked. “None of your business,” I replied with a smirk. “Wow, it is my business to m
I woke up because of the heavy weight pressing down on me. Unbelievable—because of how drunk I was, my dreams had gone wild. “Hays, really,” I muttered. When I looked to see who was on top of me, I suddenly felt nervous. “OMG!!” I whispered, frozen, afraid he might wake up. “A-Apollo,” I said, trying to wake him. “Hmm,” he murmured, eyes still closed. I wanted to punch him—damn, my nightmare was real? “A-Apollo,” I called again, shaking him. Slowly, he opened his eyes and gave me a wide smile. “Good morning, sweetie,” he said. Was this real? Was I not dreaming? I pinched my cheek. “It’s not a dream, it’s real. You didn’t tell me you’re wild in bed,” he teased. I blushed at his words, embarrassed beyond belief. I couldn’t remember anything from last night because of how drunk I was. “Are you okay? Do you feel pain down there?” he asked, moving off me. “Kind of,” I admitted, unable to look him in the eye. Aish!! Did I really go for round two? Seriously?!
After that failure, we never tried plan B again because Brix and Mico got smacked. “Ahh!! I hate them, such a waste. I could’ve experienced that again if not for Brix and Shaun’s stupidity,” Jenifer complained, still unable to move on even though two days had already passed. During those two days, Apollo kept taking me out. Sometimes he even accompanied me to visit Bon Bon, of course along with the “boys over flowers” who acted like girls were chasing after them. “What should I do? It’s like I became a red flag to Shaun because of those two,” Jenifer said, pouting. “You’ve been sulking about Shaun for two days now. Shaun this, Shaun that. But does Shaun even mention your name all the time?” I asked her. She looked at me with a scowl. “You’re such a terrible bonding partner. It’s because you’re always with Apollo, acting all sweet with him,” she said, as if it was my fault Apollo treated me that way—even though I didn’t really like it… well, maybe just a little. “It’s not
