LOGINIt was very early when someone knocked on my door so hard it almost broke. I immediately opened my eyes and looked at the clock hanging above the bookshelf.
“It's only 5 am,” I muttered. “Who’s that, sis? So noisy!” Adi Complained, so I went to the door and opened it. Standing there was Jenifer. “Hey bestie!! I’ve been here since 3 am!” she said angrily. “You’re too early,” I complained. “What are you saying? The first trip is early, hurry up because we’re leaving!” she said while pushing me. I rushed to change clothes, wearing my expensive outfits, high heels, and putting on heavy makeup. It only took me a few minutes because I needed to look presentable for my first job. I didn’t want my boss to reject me for looking shabby. “Wow Astrid, are we going to America?” Jenifer said sarcastically. “What are you saying? You’re even wearing Chanel. Jen, we need to look presentable for our boss. Of course, we’ll be working in an office, what are you thinking?” I replied, leaving first while carrying my suitcase. I also had three more suitcases brought down from my room, making a total of five. “Take care, and Astrid, behave yourself there,” said Grandma. I just rolled my eyes. “Yeah yeah, whatever,” I said. Adi came down, we exchanged kisses, and then Jenifer and I left. This is it!! I’m so excited. “Do you think our ride will be nice?” I asked Jenifer. “I don’t know, I hope so. I don’t want my Chanel bag to get dirty. Even if it’s not nice, at least we look good,” Jenifer said with a grin. “Of course, we’re gorgeous. My clothes are so expensive, I won’t let them get dirty, no way,” I said, crossing my legs while retouching my makeup. “We’re here, ma’am,” said our driver. He opened the door and we got out. When we stepped down, we were greeted by a dusty road and a crowd of people. “Oh my G!! I don’t want to be here, no-no-no!” Jen said, about to go back to the car, but the driver immediately sped away. “Heyyy come back!!” we shouted, but he couldn’t hear us anymore. “Here??” I said with a questioning tone, My eyes explore the place and I just want to go back to my place. “Yeah, h-here. It looks like a market,” Jen replied. “You’re right, so many vendors, and look, so many people,” I said, pointing at the long lines. “Ma’am, where are you headed?” asked a man. We looked at him from head to toe and both felt disgusted. “Manila!! Manila!! Who’s going to Manila!” another man shouted. “Hello, beautiful ladies, where are you going?” asked another man with a creepy grin. “Manila,” I said in a snooty tone. “Alright, please go over there,” he said. Suddenly, two men grabbed our suitcases. Alarmed, Jen and I chased them despite my heels, and when we caught them, we started hitting them. “Ouch ouch!!” they cried. “Bring back our suitcases!! You thief!!” I shouted while hitting them. “Ma’am, ma’am, please stop!” the man from earlier tried to calm us. “You know, there should be more security here!” I said angrily. “Right!! What if they escaped, and you stopped us!” Jen added. The bald man scratched his head. “Uh, they’re dispatchers. It’s their job so you won’t have a hard time,” he explained. “D-dispatchers?” I said with raised eyebrows. “Yes ma’am, we’re dispatchers,” said one of the men we had beaten. I closed my eyes in embarrassment. “Pay us double. You brought so many heavy suitcases, and you even beat us up,” they demanded. “We’re very sorry, it’s our first time here. What do you call this place?” Jen asked. “This is the bus terminal. The bus to Manila is leaving, so get on already. You’re giving us headaches,” they said. We paid them 1,000 pesos because of what we did. “Oh my, how much money do we have left?” I asked Jen. “Don’t worry, we still have 11,000,” Jen replied, and we sighed in relief. We sat on the bus seats, which were nice because it was air-conditioned. The bus started moving, and after a few hours, I suddenly felt sick. “Oh my, I feel like I’m going to vomit,” I said. “Me too!!” Jen shouted. The passengers looked at us. “Oh my, give us some plastic bags!! My LV will be ruined!!” I screamed. A man quickly came over with plastic bags and handed them to us. Jen and I vomited nonstop, like we were dying, for the three-hour trip. People stared and laughed at us because we had thrown up so much. “I think I’ll die before I reach Manila,” I said weakly. “I feel dizzy,” Jen added. We lay down on our seats, our expensive clothes useless now, looking like drunkards. “Miss, here’s Efficascent,” said a woman. I didn’t care anymore, so I took it. “Just rub a little on your stomach, it will stop the vomiting,” she said. I followed her advice, but I put too much because I wanted it to stop quickly. I gave some to Jen, and she rubbed it above her lip, between her nose and mouth. “Thank you,” I said, and we sat properly again, feeling better because of that strange “perfume.” A few minutes later, the parts we rubbed started to burn and feel spicy. “Oh my G!! What kind of perfume is that!!” I exclaimed. “It’s so spicy!” Jen said. The woman just laughed at us. Jen and I kept complaining until we finally arrived. “Get off!!” shouted the conductor, charging us for the fare. “Here’s our payment, keep the change, buy something nice,” Jen said. “What are you saying? Your change is only two pesos,” he replied, looking at us like we were crazy. We looked like we had been assaulted inside the bus, our hair completely messy. We grabbed our suitcases and staggered out, still dizzy.FIN’S POV “M-mom,” I said while crying. I saw Mommy. I didn’t know if this was a dream or reality, everything I was seeing now. “Fin, baby… please don’t be angry at Mommy, okay? Don’t ever do that to Astrid. She’s your sister—even if you’re not related by blood, she’s still your sister. I’m sorry if I locked you up in the hospital, it’s because I didn’t want you to hurt other people, and I didn’t want you to get hurt either. I hope you’ll understand me, sweetie. I don’t think I ever failed to remind you to always be kind despite your condition,” she said while stroking my hair. “Mommy, I won’t do it again. Are you feeling better now? I’m so sorry for shooting you, I-I didn’t mean it, Mommy,” I said as I hugged her tightly. “Yes, baby, Mommy doesn’t feel any pain anymore. I forgive you for what you did to me. Please take care of Astrid, take care of your nieces and nephews. And I hope you’ll let go of the man you’ve always loved—let him go, because he’s not the one for you, d
I immediately asked for help—even from Fin’s men. I didn’t care anymore; I just wanted to save our mother. “Let’s go!” I exclaimed. I drove while Fin sat in the back, holding Mommy who was bleeding. I sped up the car without hesitation. “Faster!!” Fin shouted at me. “I’m already speeding up!” I shouted back. She just kept crying while I trembled. I refused to cry because I didn’t want to break down, especially since Fin was so weak at that moment. After only a few minutes, we arrived at the hospital. Nurses rushed out, helping each other carry our mother. We brought her to her hospital, so they already knew Fin. “Lady Fin, what’s happening?” asked one of the nurses. She just cried, trembling, staring at the blood on her hands. “Everyone!! Don’t question her,” said a doctor. “Doc Ed,” Fin cried, and he immediately hugged her tightly. “Everything will be fine,” he said, patting her back. Then he turned to me. “Are you Lady Clau’s biological daughter?” he asked, releasing F
I woke up because of a slight tap on my face. I slowly opened my eyes because of the terrible headache I had. D*mn this Fin—if I weren’t tied up here, I would have beaten her mercilessly already. “Hello, sister,” she said to me with a wide smile. I looked at her without any emotion. “Are you ready to see your kids and their father?” she said, which made me suddenly look at her face. “Where did you take them?” I asked her. “Ohh, don’t be too excited,” she said while laughing. “I’m not joking with you, Fin!” I said authoritatively. “Ohh, I’m so scared,” she said, pretending to be frightened of me. I rolled my eyes at her. “So here they are, you’re so impatient, sis,” she said while laughing. “Bring them out!” she commanded, and suddenly the lights in front turned on. One by one, I saw my children. “G-Grayson!!” I shouted when I saw Gray with swollen lips. I struggled because I never laid a hand on them, never gave them bruises. “Don’t pray that you’ll get ou
I almost made my car fly because of how fast I was driving. I didn’t care about the traffic enforcers around. My head was burning hot, and I felt like I was about to explode from the anger I had toward Fin. Suddenly, my phone rang, so I quickly grabbed it and answered—even while driving. “Mommy!! Mommy!!” screamed the triplets. It felt like my heart was crushed hearing their cries as they called out to me. I wanted to cry, but there was no time for tears—I needed to be strong now. “Mommy, help us!!” shouted Aera. I immediately stepped on the brakes and answered their call. “Fin, I know it’s you,” I said in a cold, serious voice. Fear had consumed me, that’s why I sounded this way. “You recognized me already, how sweet… sister,” she said. I gripped the steering wheel tightly. “Who wouldn’t recognize the demon that you are!” I snapped at Fin. “Ohh, I thought you were calm—why are you angry?” she said, laughing. I was furious at what she had done. I wanted to pul
ASTRID’S POV I’m preparing for the triplets’ birthday. I don’t know why it feels so difficult now—maybe because Apollo is here and we keep choosing opposite things. It’s been weeks since Apollo and I reconciled. “This one, I think this is okay,” he asked me while pointing at the Captain America theme for the birthday. “Hello, you also have a daughter, not just Gray and Greg,” I told Apollo. He paused, thinking about what I said. “What if we do something for all three? Maybe one side can be Barbie-themed and the other Marvel,” he suggested. “Hays, Apollo. We can just go with their favorite colors and add the toys they like,” I replied. “Alright, whatever you want, that’s what we’ll follow,” he said. I just shook my head at his words. “Whatever” I muttered and went ahead to choose the colors. I picked mint green since it works for both boys and girls. “Thank you, ma’am, for choosing us to organize your children’s birthday party. We’ll do our best, and the kids will really e
Lady Clau POV I don’t know why Fin has become like this again. “Do you know that I don’t recognize you anymore, Fin! What’s happening to you?” I said to her. “Mommy, is it my fault or yours? You’re distancing yourself from me. I did my best to be a good daughter but I can clearly see in your eyes that you love Astrid more!” she shouted at me. “What are you saying, dear? My love for you and Astrid is equal. You know what I went through when they took Astrid away from me! Now that I finally have her back, please Fin, don’t ruin this. I never lacked as your mother, I raised you properly,” I replied. Whenever I call her “Fin,” she knows I’m already angry. “I don’t know if I can believe you anymore, Mommy. Nobody loves me! All of you only care about Astrid!!” she cried out. “That’s not true, ma—” “That’s the truth, Mom!! Nobody loves me! All of you want Astrid! Me, I’m just an adopted child,” she said, sobbing. “Fin, don’t you want to have a sibling? You know I’ve always wanted t
I still couldn’t calm down, especially since Apollo and I were sitting next to each other in the car—Jenifer insisted we sit side by side. “Are you okay? Why aren’t you talking?” Apollo asked me. I looked at him, straight into his eyes, and suddenly my knees felt weak, and my stomach was tumbl
We had been silent for a while, so this date felt pointless—Apollo seemed tongue-tied and couldn’t even look at me. “What kind of date is this? I’m not an expert, but it’s so quiet I could fall asleep. The only sound is the violin playing,” I complained. He looked at me and adjusted his seat.
I was almost deafened by Jenifer’s squeals; she had been restless for a while now. “Isn’t it sweet, ahh!! You two are really the end game!!” she exclaimed while giggling. “What are you saying, Jen, stop it,” I told her while laughing. “Oh come on, admit it, you’re thrilled too. You’re just hi
“It’s easy for us to spy,” they said to us. “Just make sure you get plenty of photos,” Jen said. “How can we do that when we don’t even have touchscreen phones?” Butchok replied. Jen and I both paused to think. “How much money is left?” Jen asked. “120k, I guess. I didn’t count it—it’s Ap
