Chapter six

AMANDA’s POV…

I inhaled deeply, normally I wouldn’t eat any of the food but since I couldn’t let a little baby be harmed, even though it was a wolf, I had to eat.

“I’m only doing this for the sake of your child” I told her before taking the food from her.

I inhaled deeply and as I ate, I couldn’t help but wonder how ruthless he could be. I agreed that he wanted to force me to eat. I’d seen him do way worse by killing people but then an innocent child, what had the child done to him? Why did he have to involve the child.

“Please eat madam!” The maid urged me and I nodded, she was worried about her child Afterall and why wouldn’t she? Her child’s life was at stake and it seemed I was the only one who could save the child’s life and how could I do that, by eating.

I swallowed the food, it tasted weird but I couldn’t stop eating. Was this the kind of food werewolves ate? Had I been amongst humans or had the life of an innocent child not been at stake, there was no way I’d have eaten this. It tasted like some drugs or something had been added to it and I coughed.

“Here madam, have some water “ she told me as she passed me a glass of water.

“Please don’t call me madam” I told her as I took the water from her.

“Why? You aren’t just anybody in this pack, you have been taken” she told me.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked her and she shook her head with a smile on her face.

“Do you miss your world? Do you want to go back badly?” She asked me and I nodded.

“Of course I do, why wouldn’t I? It’s very creepy around here and no offense, your food is weird and I just can’t bring myself to relate with you all. I want to go back to a place where I’m not weird, where I’m with creatures of my type and where I can eat food that doesn’t taste so weird” I told her as I shook my head.

I had never thought I would ever miss the human world so badly. I used to think it was just a place where people stayed but after I came to this world, I’d realized it was more than that. It was the place where I felt the most comfortable and it was a place where I didn’t have to eat weird food. It was such a soothing place and even though it was one that caused me heartbreak and betrayed me, I still felt it was the best place I could be in.

It was after I’d been brought here that I now understood the meaning of that saying, you would never understand the worth of something until you lost it.

“Forget about your world, forget about everything that makes you happy in it” she told me and my eyes widened in shock.

“I won’t ever. That place has my whole life, memories and everything that would make me happy. Why on earth would I forget about it?” I asked her as I stared at her.

She had to be crazy, why would I forget about the place I’d grown in, the place I got to do things I didn’t think I would be able do? The place that had my most cherished memories.

“You’ve been taken by the beta. Once you’re taken, there’s no chance of return. Many of your kind have being brought here. Not all are human but most are and not of them have left here. The beta has never brought anyone and we knew if he brought anyone, that person would go through hell but then he brought you. Get ready to go through hell” she told me and I gulped in fear.

What the hell was this?

“That’s nonsense. I wouldn’t just sit and let my life be ruined like this. What do you think of me? Do you think I’m some weakling?” I asked and I noticed a strange smirk on her face.

“Let’s just hope you aren’t “ she told me as she took the plate of food from me.

I stared at her, why was there a turn off vibe gotten when I stared at her? Why did it feel like she was lying to me about something?

I shook my head, she couldn’t lie to me about anything because her child was in danger. No mother would be willing to risk the life of her child so I guess she was only trying to warn me so I could protect myself the same way I’d protected her child from death by eating the food.

“Thanks” she told me as she got off the floor where she’d been seated.

Why was I thinking so much about this? Just because my best friend had cheated on me with my boyfriend didn’t mean everyone was like them. I stared at her, she had such an innocent face, there was no way she would lie to me. What reason could she even have? I had only been here for barely days and I had made sure to not get on anyone’s bad books so there was no use getting myself all stresssed and worked up.

There was nothing to feel scared or worried about.

THIRD PARTY’s POV…

As Amanda got off the floor and climbed the bed after eating, the maid put her hand around the plate as she smiled to herself.

Still smiling, she turned to the door where an unknown person was standing as she bent the plate a little to show that it had been emptied.

Through mind link, she conveyed a message to the person at the door. “She ate it”

They both smiled to theirselves, they’d thought getting her to eat the food would have been difficult but they were wrong, it only took one lie to get her to eat the food.

Amanda held on to her head as she looked around, why was the whole place starting to look blurred!
