Chapter XIV: Marked
After the victory, the team went straight to dinner. Dave and I were invited but I have to politely decline the invitation since I don't know if Dwight's mad at me or what.
"I hope you don't mind if we take Dave to dinner with us," Coach Donny said when we were already in the hotel's lobby. They offered to escort me to the lobby for their sanity.
"I don't mind po. I'll just be on our hotel suite." Nag-antayan pa kami sandali kung sino ang unang aalis. Tinanguan ako ni Coach Sandy. Nag lakad na ako papunta elevator at sumakay doon.
Sumandal ako habang papaakyat ang elevator. I hope Dave doesn't spill the tea about our departure tomorrow morning. Hindi ko alam kung masyado lang akong ilsyunada pero ayokong maapektuhan nang pag-alis namin ang laro nila for tomorrow night.

Before we get to the venue, an argument arises. Dad called two of his drivers to drive for us to the venue but I told him that we will take the Ford Ranger since I will be returning it. "You should have told me earlier. I need to make some calls to get another driver," he said furiously. Hindi na ako umimik pa dahil ayoko nang palalain ang sitwasyon. "Don't worry. Dad is stressed out since he will face the media. His OCD is just taking over him," Kuya from my side said. My mind is in chaos and my stomach is grumbling. "Looks like you're hiding something from your Dad, huh?" Lyle stated from my side. We are now on our way back to the hall. Hindi na ako tinigilan ni Lyle mula sa paglabas ko ng restroom. It is the next day yet I’m still struck by what Dave said. Bakit parang kilalang-kila nya ako? Parang mas kilala nya pa nga ako kaysa sa sarili ko. The next day I decided not to join Dad with his agenda. I was thankful that I was knocked out from yesterday’s trip because if I was not, I’ll be up all night thinking. I was shocked by the fact that Coach Sandy really wanted to talk about Dwight. He's now sipping his espresso. On the other hand, Kuya Jerome arrived. He quickly went to me.
