Chapter 4

"Good morning," I wished Mr Knight as I entered his office to serve him his coffee. His ignorant ass of course didn't wish me back. But I was used to it by now. I proceeded to keep his coffee on his desk when I noticed something.

He looked a little pale than usual. His eyes looked tired and he was breathing a little more heavily. He almost looked vulnerable.

"Are.. are you ok Mr Knight?" I couldn't help but worry. He chose to stay quiet and continue doing whatever he was doing on his laptop. Suddenly his head rocked a little as his hand shot up to clutch the side of his head.

"Oh God! Are you ok?" I instantly rushed to his side to keep him in place. His eyes closed momentarily as he released a deep sigh. I placed my palms on his forehead only to find out he was burning. He had a fever, and he was here this early in the morning working his ass off. Is he serious?

"Mr. Knight, you have a fever." I gasped out.

"Just leave me alone. Get out right now," his voice boomed in the office as I flinched back at the sudden reaction.

I made my way out but for some reason my mind went back to him. He was not okay. Without thinking I rushed out of the office to a nearby cafe and bought him a sandwich and a donut along with an alaska shake to have. I knew I was running short on money and I would have to sleep empty stomach again today since I still haven't received my paycheck, but helping a person comes before anything else. I'm sure this man doesn't even have his breakfast properly. I stopped at a medical store to buy some pain killers and medicines for his fever.

I rushed back to the building and hurried to his office only to find him passed out on his chair. His head was pulled to the side with his eyes closed and his lips slightly ajar.

"Oh God!" I gasped at the sight.

"Mr Knight," I shook him slightly after keeping the things that I just bought on his table. He groaned slightly before his eyes finally opened, I handed him a glass of water which he swallowed down in a gulp. His breathing was still a little uneven but better than before.

"Here, have this," I handed him the medicines I bought. He chucked them down without questioning. His hair was slightly damp, maybe because he was sweating a little. They were stuck on his forehead, irritating his eyes. So I tried tucking them to the side. But before I could do that, he immediately pushed my hand away to which I flinched the second time since morning.

"Don't you dare touch me!" I was shocked at his sudden outburst and honestly, a little hurt. All I was trying to do was help.

"I...I.." I didn't know what to say after this. But he beat me to it.

"Go back to your office and bring me the files on the new project once you are done with them." He ordered. I nodded my head, still a little shocked at his rude behavior. I turned on my heels to leave but stopped when he called out for me. I turned to look at him expecting him to say sorry but his next words shocked me even more.

"Don't you dare spill anything about what just happened or you will regret it." I only nodded at his demand. Of course I was not going to talk about this to anyone. And with that I finally left.

Two hours later when I returned to deliver him the files he asked for, I saw the sandwich, donut and the drink that I got for him were all gone except for the shopping bag that they were in. I suppressed a smile, knowing at least he had something to eat. He didn't look up when I kept the files on his desk , so I left without saying a word to him . The rest of the day went in a blur as I finally reached my house to have a peaceful night.
