Alex and I had to practically force ourselves out of bed, take a shower together, and dress up in order to come to the gathering.

There was a sweet, delicious ache between my thighs as we stepped out of the car and headed to the front door.

"Uh, Princess, you might want to tone down on the limping a bit," Alex said with a smug grin.

"I am not limping." I glared at him, realising that he was right, but I couldn't keep the smile off my face.

The twins launched themselves at us, both talking at once about how they'd watched the proposal on the big-screen TV and how everyone had cried when I said yes.

I was making the rounds, accepting congratulations from everyone, when I spotted someone I hadn't expected to see.
