Haven sighed as she walked through her house. The day had really taken a lot out of her. Though her body was begging to just lie down, she knew they still were going to talk some more. She steadied herself for whatever would happen between them. Though she knew he was still in pain, and that was the only thing stopping him despite what he said about her screaming for him. She was going to hate informing him that no man had ever made her scream. She had very few experiences, but none of them had been anything to remember. Haven looked at Mack as she neared the back room, and he knew something was going on in her brain. She had a look of determination that he hadn’t seen on anyone since he knew her in college, and one of the girls had told her that she was nothing but a pet project for the professors. Haven had proven that even six years younger, she could do anything that someone older could do. The one thing the girl had insinuated was that Haven couldn’t turn the eyes of the men around her. The bed was comfortable even though it was smaller than most he had been on in the past few years. It reminded him of the small rack type beds they had in the military. Having her so close to him was enough to keep his mind off much of everything else. Right now, he wanted to relish in the thoughts that he was having of all the things he wanted to do to and with her. Most of all, he wanted her to know she was it for him. This was it, and if it didn’t work out between them, he would remain alone with these memories of this time. It was better than a dream.
