MIA’S POV

When we got home, Mom quickly went to the kitchen and opened some wine, drinking it straight from the bottle.

“Mom, are you okay?”

“I’m fine, just go to your room.”

I nodded and turned away, heading to my room when I heard Mom called me again.

“Mia, forget what your Dad said. He’s delirious, and I don’t want you going to that place ever again.”

I couldn’t agree less with Mom, but Dad’s announcement didn’t bother me for a moment. I was more concerned of their confrontation. Dad was downhearted hearing those words from my Mom.

As if she regret their relationship. She regret falling for him.

“There’s only one person to blame,” I fisted. The next morning, I searched for Jeffrey Henderson at the Japanese restaurant. I know most of the members of the Legion hang out there, and I was right.

“Jeffrey! I need to talk to you now!”

“Do we have something to talk about? I am enjoying my tea can’t you see?” he answered rudely. How could Dad set me up with the guy like him?
