Hello Lovely Readers,
This book may contain content that might be triggering for some. It is a dark romance with degradation, BDSM that doesn’t contain consent within the dynamic (I know, not something I typically have in my book). There are many instances where consent is very dubious and there is kidnapping. Because what fun is writing dark romance without hitting those tropes? I will add to anyone worried, this one does have a HEA because I’m a sucker for that happily ever after and I couldn’t imagine not giving Cass her happy ending.
If any of these things are not something you want to read, that is okay. I have plenty of other books where consent is key because that’s sexy too. But sometimes you just need something dark and smutty.
I hope you enjoy Cass’ story.
XOXO,
Jane
Cass
“Over here,” I hissed, pulling my sister into the darkened alleyway behind me. The night was cold and quiet but I knew that they were still out there. Those things were hunting us.
“Cass-”
“Shhh.” I pulled her against the wall behind the dumpster, her grey eyes were wide as she looked up at me. I wanted to tell her that I would get us out of this, but I didn’t know how I’d do that this time.
Our breathing was ragged, I tried to keep mine as shallow as possible. I didn’t know what those things were with their glowing eyes. Just that there was no way that they were human.
“Cass, what were those-”
“Found you, pretty thing.” The deep voice chuckled, cutting off my sister’s words. Pulling her away from me. My breath caught in my throat as I pushed forward off the damp brick wall. A hand gripped my wrist and I realized that this man-shaped creature wasn’t alone.
“Ah, ah. You’ll make a fine offering.” His blue wolf-like eyes moved over my body making me feel naked even though I had jeans and an oversized hoodie. He looked over at Cora and I was glad that it wasn’t the same hungry look that he’d given me. “That one’s a little young, but I’m sure he’ll have a use for her.”
“No, just take me. Let her go.”
“Bravery will get you nowhere.” The first one leered at me, “The King will like breaking that spirit.”
The man’s hand moved up my arm and I jerked away barreling towards my sister and her captive in the hopes that he would let her go and she could escape. It wasn’t to be as an arm wrapped around my waist. Pulling me back against his firm chest, he squeezed me tight making my ribs ache.
“We’ve got your scent, you can’t escape from a wolf.” He growled, his warm breath fanning over my skin. Fear ran through me, there were so many horrors that we had avoided just for something like this to happen. I stopped moving, at the feel of something hard pressing against my bottom. “Wolves enjoy the hunt more than you can imagine. The only thing saving you right now is we need a tribute.”
“A, a, a tribute? I stuttered out.
Tires screeched behind me and I turned to look at the opening of the alley. Hope filling me that maybe we would be rescued. It was short-lived as a black van pulled up and the door slid open.
“There’s your ride.” His grip tightened around my waist as he made me shuffle walk towards the van. Groaning in my ear as he pressed his cock against me, “Too bad I can’t finish off my hunt with you. Maybe when the king is done with you?”
“Fuck you.”
He shoved me through the open door and my palms scraped against the metal flooring, I turned to glare up at him, pushing my reddish-blonde hair out of my eyes.
“You’ll have wished it was me.” His blue eyes twinkled in the darkness as he smiled at me. My sister was shoved into the van and the door was slammed behind her.
“Cass, what’s going on?” Cora asked.
“I, I, I don’t know.” I shook my head as the van started moving. I crawled to the doors, my hands moving over the door searching for the handle in the darkness. The metal was smooth and cold under my hands. I looked towards the partition that separated us from the drivers before moving back to my sister. “I’ll keep you safe Cora. I promise.
She nodded up at me and I felt my throat tighten. She was so trusting, I wrapped my arms around her. Stroking her soft, dark hair. I didn’t know how I was going to get us out of this. I’d find a way, Cora was my responsibility and I couldn’t let anything happen to her.
We didn’t speak for the remainder of the drive, I wanted to fill the silence to give her some comfort but my words failed me. Instead, I held her close trying to stave off the chill in the air that seemed to seep into our bones from the metal that surrounded us. My eyes burned and I wanted to cry, I knew that I couldn’t.
That would scare Cora and I had the feeling that the little these creatures knew about us the better. I wished once again, that our parents hadn’t died. That we had someone to save us.
The van stopped and the door slid open, making me squint at the bright light. A man stepped up to the opening as my eyes adjusted to the light.
“Get out.” He ordered and I loosened my grip on Cora, helping her out of the van before climbing out behind her. The man stepped around us, slamming the door shut before he stormed off. I looked around the room, my eyes settling on another man.
He dragged a hand through his bleached hair, his dark roots peeking through the mess strands. Jade green eyes studied my sister and I with a look that I didn’t have words for. His face was smooth, almost boyish and I would have found him handsome if I wasn’t so terrified.
He brought his hands down, hooking his thumbs into the belt loops of his black leather pants. His white button-up shirt stretched across his chest as he leaned back.
“Come with me.”
Chapter Eighty-FiveI slipped into Lucian’s room; it was dim. The only light was the fire burning in the fireplace, casting shadows about the room. Bash and I had napped well into the afternoon. I’d woken feeling refreshed and ready to claim my last mate. It felt fitting that I would claim Lucian last since he had claimed me first. Everything was coming to a full circle.Lucian sat on the leather couch, his tie loose around his neck. A crystal tumbler in his hand, resting on the arm of the couch, two fingers of whiskey were waiting for him. An open bottle sat on the end table beside him. His hair was neat, the shadows from the fire moved over his face, making him look gaunt. I walked forward, my bare feet padding against the floor, not making a sound. I knew that he knew I was here. He could sense me, his dragon could sense me. He lifted up the tumbler, finishing off his drink. Lucian turned his head towards me, dark glowing eyes traveled up my pale legs. His tongue darted out, mov
Chapter Eighty-FourI wanted him to know that it was me making him feel that way, that he belonged to me, just as I belonged to him. With every step that he would take, he would feel it. Feel me, just as I felt him, as I felt the others. The bond sank into place with him. Pleasure like before had me so close to the edge. I was so close to coming, I moved my fingers faster, brushing them against my opening.Bash was still hard in my hand. His fingers moved to tangle in my hair and I laved my tongue over the bite mark, cleaning the blood from the wound. He gave the strands of my hair a gentle tug and I looked up at him. “Kitten, I need to be inside of you.” His words were a garbled rumble. I pulled my hand from between my thighs, moving to stand. He didn’t let go of my hair, instead, he used it to pull me closer, pressing his lips to mine. Letting out a low growl at the taste of his blood on my lips. His tongue plundered into my mouth, moving over my tongue, fucking me like he had my
Chapter Eighty-ThreeI smiled, undoing another button before dragging my hand to the front of his clacks. His breath hitched as I caressed his half-hard cock. “With my hand or my body?”I licked my lower lip, looking up into his eyes. Desire swirled in those golden pools. It made me feel powerful that I could make him want me this much. Bash walked us back until my back hit the door. His body was flush against mine, pinning me in place. He growled, pressing his lips against mine. I gripped his shoulders, bringing my thigh up so that my sex was pressed up against his now rock-hard length. His tongue lapped at the seam of my lips and I parted them with a sigh. We took our time exploring one another. This kiss felt different to me and I found myself giving in to him and the way that he was making me feel. His hand moved to the back of my thighs, shifting me so that my feet were off the ground. I locked my legs around his hips, rubbing myself against him. A mewling sound that was filled
Chapter Eighty-TwoThe smell of sweet pancakes grew stronger and I realized that it wasn’t just the memory. I could smell pancakes cooking from the dining hall. William’s fingers tightened around mine as he all but bounced forward. My mate was excited for the others to see that we had claimed each other. For them to know that I was his and he was mine. Butterflies fluttered to life in the pit of my stomach and I looked down at the ground. It was such a strange feeling, belonging to someone on such a level that I could feel him with every beat of my heart. “Bash is cooking,” William said and I gave him a shy grin. “Is that a normal thing for him?” “Yeah, Bash…” William paused for a moment. “The way that he shows he cares is by taking care of others. He’s demanding, but he means well.”I mulled over his words the closer we got to the dining hall. The steady hum of laughter and chatter drifted out with the delicious smells. I could hear Bash’s deep voice as he teased someone. I knew
Chapter Eighty-One“Huh?” “Lucian always likes to be first at everything,” Oliver said, his lips twitching up into a smile. “This time it wasn’t him or Bash that you claimed. It was Will. I personally think it should have been me, but whatever. I’m just happy you claimed me.”I felt warm at his words, some of the nausea fading. I could feel how happy he was that I had claimed him. It was a bright, almost airy feeling flowing from both of them. Like a hug first thing in the morning. Some of the swirling in my stomach stopped and I took a deep breath. It helped me to know that they would want me to claim them. “Why don’t we head inside?” William said, his touch warm and soothing. I nodded, pressing my palms against my thighs and smoothing out my dress. “It’ll have to be without me. I’m going to try and avoid Lucian.”“What, why are you avoiding him?” I asked, worried that he was going to get punished for my claiming him. “I left training early,” Oliver said, bringing his hands up an
Chapter EightyCassI sat in the back seat of the SUV, the three of us were showered. Oliver was in a pair of sweatpants and a black hoodie that seemed to swallow his almost lanky form. I was back in the dress that Bash had given me, minus my bra and panties. If Bash and Lucian were anything like William and Oliver when it came to me claiming them. I knew that the offered sweats that William had tried to give me would end up ruined.Oliver kept looking back at me in the rearview mirror. A scowl on his face, his fingers tightened over the leather-covered steering wheel, knuckles white as he let out an exasperated sigh. He dragged a hand through his coal-colored hair, fingers tugging at the damp locks. William ran his thumb over my clavicle bone, his fingers dipping below the fabric of my dress. I could feel everything that he and Oliver were feeling, how much I meant to them. What they hoped for the future, how happy their dragons were that I had claimed them. I wondered how it would
