"Marry me," he muttered between heavy breaths.

"Huh? Why?" I questioned, staring up at him in confusion.

"Because...because I want you to marry me," he repeated.

I gasped quietly in shock, unable to speak a word. Dan's dark eyes were filled with determination as he stared at me intently.
