We arrived home a little past midnight. Silas got out of the SUV, slammed the door shut, and made his way into the house with me following silently behind. Being an alpha, his jealousy was something that exceeded most wolves. It was in his nature to fight and protect what he claimed as his; that, unfortunately, included me.
But what I did had to be done. I learnt that Darius was far smarter than he looked and very much so cunning. He had a mask of ignorance placed on his face the entire night, even when he attempted to flirt with me and get me to ride with him. If I got onto that motorcycle, I knew I wouldn't have seen the finish line. He would, probably, abducted me the way he had done Monica or just attempted to kill me on the spot, to hell with the consequences.
