Chapter 35

GRACE

I awoke feeling way too hot than I should have. Reluctantly peeling my eyes open, everything seemed to be a blur. Blinking a few times allowed my eyes to focus. I found half of Silas' body sprawled on top of me, smothering me. The bright rays of sunlight that poured into the room from the floor to sealing window gave me no reprieve from the heat — matter of fact, it made it much worse.

Silas was still in a deep sleep, soft purr like snores leaving his plush lips. His chocolate strands spilled over his forehead, obscuring his eyes. A small smile formed on my face as I watched him sleep. He looked so at ease, the most peaceful I had ever seen him. Stubble coated his face, poking into the soft skin of my chest. His position looked very uncomfortable but it gave me a wonderful view.

My eyes got all teary when Silas was apologizing to Grace especially for wearing Carter's clothes. I'm glad they are communicating well. Hopefully soon Silas will tell Sydney about her mother. Wonder what kind of information the Beta has.
