EMILIA POV

“No, wait! You have to listen to me!” I cried out in my defence as the elders stood up and watched me get held by two of the soldiers. I struggled against them, trying to get out of their grips, but I soon learned that it would only make things worse for me.

“If you don’t start speaking, I will order for your tongue to be cut off this instant,” the woman threatened, glaring at me as she walked down from her chair and walked close to me.

“I didn’t do this on purpose—”

“Are you carrying a vampire’s offspring inside you, yes or no?!” she demanded loudly.

“Yes, I am!” As soon as I answered the question, the leader of the soldiers brought back his knife into view and placed it directly on my stomach, waiting for the green light from any one of the elders.

“I didn’t share a bed with a vampire! You have to listen to me!” I shouted, making sure I didn’t move much so that the knife wouldn’t rip me apart.
