LOGINChapter Six
***Bella's Pov*** The wolf struck me so hard that I crashed against the stairs and tumbled to the floor. Pain ripped through my abdomen. Before I could move, its massive paws pinned me down. Its claws tore into my side, and warm blood spread beneath my clothes. I screamed, struggling to shield my stomach as the beast snapped its jaws inches from my face. Then it lunged again. A deafening roar shook the mansion. Another wolf charged through the entrance and slammed into my attacker, ripping it away from me. The impact sent both creatures crashing against the wall. Adrian. Even in his wolf form, I recognized him. He attacked with terrifying fury, sinking his teeth into the intruder's shoulder. The other wolf twisted around, slashing Adrian's flank before breaking free. They collided again, claws scraping across the floor as their snarls filled the mansion. I tried to push myself up. A sharp cramp seized my abdomen. I collapsed with a cry, blood trickling down my side. Mara rushed toward me. “Mrs. Blackthorn!” She dropped beside me, but before she could touch me, Adrian drove the attacker backward. The injured wolf staggered toward the shattered window, glanced at us, then leaped through the broken glass and ran. Adrian started after it. “Adrian!” Mara screamed. He stopped. I barely saw him turn before his eyes landed on me. Within seconds, he was human again, his chest heaving and blood running down his side. He rushed toward me and dropped to his knees. “Bella!” His hands hovered over my body, afraid to touch the wrong place. When he saw the blood soaking my clothes, his face changed. “Get the car ready!” he barked at Mara. Mara scrambled to her feet, pulling out her phone. Adrian slid one arm behind my back and the other beneath my knees. The moment he lifted me, pain tore through my abdomen. I gasped, gripping his shirt. “Easy,” he muttered, holding me against his chest. “I've got you.” My vision blurred. I could feel blood trickling beneath my clothes, and every breath seemed harder than the last. Adrian carried me through the rear entrance. “Move!” he shouted when we reached the car. The driver jumped out and opened the back door. Adrian climbed in with me, cradling my body against his chest. “Take us to Blackridge Private Hospital. Now!” The car sped away. I pressed my hand against my abdomen, trying to ignore the pain. Adrian held a cloth against the wound in my side, but his fingers trembled. “Keep your eyes open,” he ordered. I tried to look at him. “Adrian…” “I'm here.” His voice sounded different. There was no coldness in it, He sounded frightened. I had never seen him frightened. A sudden jolt sent pain shooting through my stomach. I cried out, and Adrian immediately pulled me closer. “Drive faster!” he roared. “Sir, the traffic…” “Then find another road!” The driver swerved into a side street, narrowly avoiding another vehicle. Adrian barely noticed. His attention remained fixed on me as he brushed the damp hair from my forehead. “Bella, look at me.” My eyelids grew heavy and I forced them open. “That's it,” he said. “Stay with me.” I wanted to answer, but my mouth felt dry. The mansion, the broken window, the monstrous wolf—all of it seemed impossibly far away now. Only Adrian's arms felt real. The car finally turned through the hospital gates and screeched to a stop beneath the emergency entrance. Adrian was out before the driver could open his door fully. “Help!” he shouted. Two medical workers rushed toward him with a stretcher. The moment they saw the blood covering my clothes, they called for more staff. “She's been attacked,” Adrian said urgently. “She's pregnant. She's losing blood.” They transferred me onto the stretcher. Adrian followed as they rushed me through the emergency doors, refusing to release my hand until a nurse forced him to step aside. “Sir, we need room to treat her.” “Then treat her!” he snapped. “Don't stand there talking!” A doctor hurried over, took one look at me, and immediately began issuing instructions. “Get her into the treatment room. Check her blood pressure and prepare an emergency ultrasound. We need to assess the pregnancy.” Hands moved around me. Someone cut away my bloodied clothes. Another person inserted a needle into my arm while a nurse pressed gauze against my side. I tried to lift my head. Adrian stood near the doorway, his shirt stained red, his fists clenched at his sides. “Please,” he told the doctor, his voice rough. “Save her.” The doctor didn't look away from me. “We're doing everything we can. I need you to let us work.” They wheeled me farther into the treatment room. A bright light shone above my face. The doctor pressed a device against my abdomen while another medical worker watched the monitor. I couldn't understand the numbers appearing on the screen. Then the doctor's expression tightened. “Her blood pressure is dangerously low.” “Start the fluids.” A nurse adjusted the equipment beside me. I tried to speak, but only a weak sound escaped my throat. The doctor leaned closer. “Mrs. Blackthorn, can you hear me?” I blinked. “Good. Keep looking at me.” Another cramp twisted through my abdomen. My body stiffened, and a cry escaped before I could stop it. “She's deteriorating,” the nurse warned. The doctor immediately turned toward the monitor. “Prepare for emergency intervention. We need to stabilize her now.” Beyond the doorway, Adrian's voice thundered. “What's happening?!” No one answered him. I wanted to call his name, but my strength was disappearing. The room swayed, and the beeping beside me grew distant. A nurse squeezed my hand. “Stay with us Mrs Blackthorn.” Through the narrowing gap between my eyelids, I saw Adrian push past the doorway despite the staff trying to stop him. “Bella!” His face was the last thing I saw clearly. Then the monitor began screaming, the medical team rushed toward me, and Adrian's terrified voice followed me into the darkness. “Bella, open your eyes!”Chapter Seven***Bella's Pov***My eyelids fluttered. For a moment, I couldn't remember where I was. Everything felt heavy, and a dull ache pulsed through my body. I tried to open my eyes again, but the light above me forced them shut.I swallowed, my throat painfully dry, and managed to open them halfway.A clear tube rested beneath my nose, secured by soft straps around my ears. An IV line ran from the back of my hand to a fluid bag hanging beside the hospital bed. A monitor near my head beeped steadily, its numbers changing with every passing second. The memory returned in fragments. The wolf. Its claws tearing into me. Adrian's bloodstained shirt. His voice calling my name as darkness swallowed me.My fingers curled against the bedsheet.I was alive.Slowly, I turned my head.Adrian sat in a chair beside my bed, his head resting against the backrest. His arms were folded across his chest, and his dark hair fell carelessly over his forehead. He looked exhausted.I watched him sile

Chapter Five***Bella's Pov***The silence inside the car felt heavier than it should have.Neither Adrian nor I said a word since we left the hospital. I kept my eyes fixed on the window, watching the scenery pass while my mind remained stuck on the hospital result.I still couldn't understand how it had happened. When the car finally stopped, Adrian stepped out without saying anything. I followed him, and together we entered the main mansion. The moment we reached the sitting room, I stopped. My throat tightened as I glanced at Adrian, hesitating for a brief moment before forcing the words out.“I will terminate it.”Adrian froze. He turned toward me, his expression tightening as though he hadn't expected those words.I held his gaze. “I've made up my mind. I'm going to terminate it. This shouldn't interfere with the terms of our contract.”I started toward the stairs, but his voice stopped me.“Bella.”I turned around.“You don't have to terminate it.”My brows pulled together. “Wh
Chapter Four***Bella's Pov***Three weeks later, I stood on the stage at Laurent Industries, staring out at a sea of shareholders, investors, employees, reporters, and cameras. For the first time in months, the room wasn't filled with worried faces.Laurent Industries was back.Blackthorn Group had fulfilled everything Adrian promised. Funding had come through, our investors had returned, shareholders had stopped selling, and the company had begun recovering under the restructuring plan. The pressure that had nearly crushed us was finally easing.I held the microphone tighter and forced a smile.“Three weeks ago, Laurent Industries was facing one of the hardest periods in its history,” I said. “Today, we're standing here because our shareholders, investors, employees, and partners chose to believe in this company again. I want to thank every one of you for staying with us.”Applause filled the room.I waited for it to settle before continuing, answering questions about the company's
Chapter Three***Bella's Pov***Sunlight flickered across my face, pulling me slowly from sleep. I opened my eyes, still groggy, until the events of the previous night came rushing back.My heart stopped.I sat up abruptly and looked down at myself.I was naked.A wave of shock swept through me as I quickly pulled the sheets around my body. I shook my head in disbelief, trying to convince myself that somehow I had imagined everything. Then I looked beside me.Adrian was lying there, shirtless and asleep as though nothing had happened. My anger returned instantly.I reached over and tapped his shoulder. “Adrian.”His eyes opened immediately. He looked at me, then at the sheets wrapped around my body.I stared at him. “What did you do to me?”He went still. For a moment, he simply stared at me as if he didn't know what to say.“I know this wasn't supposed to happen. I'm sorry. Whatever it is, I will do it.”I scoffed. “You think saying you'll do whatever it is makes this better? How cou
Chapter Two***Bella's Pov***The gates of Adrian’s mansion opened slowly as his car approached, and I stared through the window in disbelief.I had expected a mansion, but this was something else entirely. The property was enormous, almost like a private fortress. Several separate buildings stood within the estate, connected by paved paths and surrounded by high walls, thick trees, and layers of security. The moment Adrian stepped out of the car, I followed. My bags were still in the trunk when several guards approached and bowed their heads respectfully.“Take them inside,” Adrian ordered. They nodded immediately and began removing my luggage from the trunk.I watched them for a moment before Adrian turned toward me.“Follow me.”I hesitated only briefly before walking after him.Inside the main mansion, several house helps were waiting. Most looked young, but one woman stood at the front. She appeared to be in her early fifties and wore a neat housekeeper’s uniform. From the way th
