Chapter Seven•

Kylie arrived at the café and saw Rex seated at the last end of the table. On the table was a half eaten French tuna salad and a cup of cappuccino.

It seemed like he had ordered before she came. She braced herself and walked up to him with a smile on her face.

He stood up when he saw her walking towards him. He smiled when she came closer and he placed a light kiss close to her lips.

"I've missed you." he said as she took her seat on the opposite side.

"I have too. I've just been caught up with work." she said.

He managed a little smile. "It's you Kylie. You're a workaholic." he said.

She could tell he was annoyed by that fact. It wasn't her fault. She had to be up on her toes since the Broadway was fast approaching.

She placed her hand on his."I'm sorry. You know I'll never neglect you on purpose." she said feeling guilty for not spending more time with him.

Just then, the waiter walked up to her to take her order.

"A cup of iced coffee will do." she said to him. He nodded and walked away.

"You're looking very stressed babe. Are you fine?" he asked worriedly. She shrugged. "I'm fine."

She couldn't bring herself to tell him of her mother's plan to get her married to someone else.

Leo walked into the office of the executives. They were preference shareholders that held stocks in his company.

"Always late Mr Michaelson." One of the executives said.

"Better late than never right?" he said with a smug look on his face as he took his seat.

They shrugged. "Preferably yes."

"Can we get to the matter at hand?what is the meeting for?" he asked.

"The progress of the new product." the executive said again.

"Mr Tyson,"Leo said sitting at his full length. "I very well understand that you can't wait to reap the benefits of the new technology's success. There is no need to rush. The share will definitely get to you."

The two executives nodded at each other and turned back to Leo. "And what percent of the share do we get?"

Leo raised a brow. "The usual. Are you expecting more?"

"We came to the conclusion that after the launching of the new tech product, there should be an increment of the shares." Tyson said.

Leo stared hard at them. He cleared his throat. "Mr Tyson, you do realize that you're not the only shareholder in my company." he said as a matter of fact.

"Yes." Tyson said wondering where he was heading.

"If you want an increment of shares, your stocks should also increase." Leo said.

They murmured amongst themselves again and Leo watched them impatiently.

"We'll rely on this percent for now till we come to conclusion on the increase of stocks." Tyson said.

Leo nodded. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he rose to his feet. "With that settled,I'll take my leave." he said.

They stood up and shook hands with him. "Till next time Mr Michaelson."

He nodded and walked out the door with Lance behind him. Greedy mouths! Leo thought to himself as they stepped into the car.

They were exceeding their boundaries lately and if it continues he'll have no choice but to go through with the involuntary removal.

He never does a business that was of no benefit to him.

"I'll drive you to your office. Tell your driver to come pick up your car." Rex said to Kylie leading her out the café.

She accepted with a smiling face.

He opened the front seat door for her and she got in. He stepped into the car and turned on the ignition. He placed the car on reverse and drove away.

He was engaged in a conversation with Kylie and didn't see the oncoming car.

In an attempt to avoid collision,he maneuvered the car at the same time with the other car's driver and ended up  having a big scratch at the side and the other car had a broken side mirror with few scratches.

Rex stopped the car and stepped down. "Can't you drive? Look at what you've done to my baby." he vented.

The driver stepped out in annoyance. "Why are you ranting when you're clearly at fault." he said.

"Rex,what's going on?" Kylie said as she got down.

"He barged my car babe and he's definitely gonna pay for the damages."

"Let's just go." she said. She was thankful in her heart that no accident had happened.

"Pay for the damages,"the driver scoffed. "You wish."

"You little.." Rex began in annoyance. He stopped when the the passenger seat got opened.

A rather tall, masculine person stepped down from the car. He had an aura of wealth and arrogance. He wore sunglasses that hid his eyes, adding an exciting look to his already sensual body.

He examined the broken mirror and turned to Rex when his eyes caught hers despite his being hidden by the dark shades.

Kylie recognized him immediately. "You." she said spitefully under her breath but clearly enough for him to hear.

Leo had a smug look on his face.

"Miss Kylie, should I say it's a delight meeting you here today?" he said in sarcasm.

"You know him?" Rex asked eying Leo head to toe. He assessed him wondering where he had seen him before and then he realized it was from the covers of magazines. He knew he was a catch.

"Of course. Why won't she?" Leo asked. He had a feeling she was his partner.

"Let's just go." Kylie insisted sneering at Leo. He smirked at her.

"No Kylie. He is gonna pay for the damages. He shouldn't have made a turn like that." Rex insisted.

"Theo here is a skillful driver,so you're probably at fault." Leo said running his fingers on the mild crashes on his car. "Anyways, how much do you need to fix that piece of junk." he said.

His eyes on Rex car before turning to examine Rex himself.

"You don't talk to my boyfriend like that." Kylie blurted out.

Leo raised a brow in scorn. "Boyfriend." he scoffed. "This is the mighty boyfriend of Kylie Shell." he said sarcastically.

He stared at Rex. "I expected more." he said.

"How dare you?"Rex said through gritted teeth.

Kylie frowned at him and pulled Rex towards the car. "Let's go Rex." she said.

Leo leaned on the side of the car as he watched them leave.

He smiled. His proposed fiancee had a boyfriend. How amazing,he thought.
