Chapter 35: Night 5
Later that evening, Simon got a call from Annie asking him to accompany her to a musical concert. New York city has all the biggest names in music rolling into town and with the multiple arenas in and around the city, it was easy to spot a great gig every night of the week!
Simon had considered not going but his mother said there was no chance she would let him miss a perfect opportunity to get his closed walking bag of sad self loosened up by any means. He wore a nice plain white simple tee-shirt on top of olive green shorts.
It was starting at eight PM and it was going to be a rock performance from one of the best rockstars in the world. Simon met Annie at the entrance to the arena where their tickets were checked and they were permitted into the building.

Being in love was supposed to feel beautiful, Simon thought, so how come he felt like a piece of trash? He was at a bar, nestling a beer bottle in his mouth. He promised himself to have just one bottle and go home. He needed to clear his head; that was all. Simon wanted to visit the Bed and Breakfast restaurant one last time before he departed for California. Unlike the other times he had come down to the diner in hopes of seeking his one true love, tonight was solely about ordering his favorite hamburger and glass of the divine milkshake. Three years ago… They dwelled together in Southern California. They resided in a beach house just a coupla miles walk from the ocean. Shane gawked at the seashore. The gusty wind whistled in his ears. The ocean swirled, the waves clasped together, and touched his feet before it retreated.
