Chapter Seven

He played with his lower lip using his thumb as he thought. I was distracted, but I fought myself to stop watching that finger brushing against the softest lips I had ever tasted.

“I’ll be the host, and you’ll be the guest,” he finally said.

“That’s... literally what we are now,” I laughed, but it came out awkward, so I cleared my throat, blushing after. “Okay, then?”

“I’ll ask, and you’ll answer. Then you have to ask me a question, and I’ll answer.”

I nodded. “Mmkay.” That sounded fine—and, again, safe.

It’s good to get to know each other anyway. Though, realistically, this phase should’ve come first before the sex part. Normally, we should have become more familiar with each other before jumping into bed but... oh, well. Alcohol is to blame. And problems. Okay, blame me too.

I sighed.

“Whenever you’re ready,” he said.

“Oh, you can start.” I sipped my drink slowly.

“What’s your favorite sex position?”

I almost choked on the wine I was drinking. What the—!

“Pardon me?”

“You’ve got to answer, Lila.”

I looked him straight in the eyes, but there wasn’t a hint of teasing in his expression. This... was serious? He was serious?

So, what? This game is just a dirty version of what I thought it would be?

“Uh, m-missionary.”

He nodded, acknowledging my answer. “Your turn. You need to ask me back,” he reminded me after a few seconds of silence. Not to mention, my face was burning now.

“W-What’s your favorite sex position?” I stammered, unsure if it even sounded like a question.

“Missionary. Why did that become your favorite?”

I was starting to feel weird with the direction of his questions, but I couldn’t stop him—or this game. And, not to mention, I was embarrassingly soaked down there.

“I... I don’t know,” I answered.

“You don’t know why that’s your favorite?”

I shook my head. “That’s the o-only position my husband ever did with me. I have no... other reference.”

I was being honest. Taylor and I had never explored in bed. The first time I ever saw him “explore” was with Rafaela Nadler—doing the monkey business in our bed.

“Your husband is good at wasting you, huh?”

Bitterness laced his words, and I tasted it as if it were my own. Part of me wanted to agree, but another part decided to keep quiet.

“There should be no side comments in this game,” I said, trying to hold some ground.

“Right,” he replied, grinning playfully as he sipped his drink.

“How about you? Why is missionary your favorite?”

“I love seeing the face of the woman—the way their pleasure is written all over it...” He paused, his eyes locking with mine. “Yours is the best I’ve seen so far.”

My cheeks burned instantly, the heat spreading to my ears.

“Not exactly something for me to be proud of,” I muttered, crossing my arms. Being one of his women was not a badge of honor.

Kyler’s laugh filled the room, rich and full. “No side comments,” he reminded me with a smirk.

“Well, you started it.”

“I was the one answering, so I can.”

I shrugged, hoping to end the back-and-forth before he won—because let’s be honest, I wasn’t going to beat Kyler in a dirty conversation. He was just too skilled at it.

“So, my turn,” he said, his voice dropping a note lower.

Before I could react, he leaned closer to where I sat. The space between us shrank to nothing. I could feel the heat radiating off his body, though not a single inch of our skin touched. Yet, his proximity alone felt like we were skin-to-skin.

“Will you join me on my vacation?” he asked, his tone low, sweet, and utterly hypnotic.

His breath brushed my face, carrying a tantalizing mix of mint and alcohol. The scent made my nose flare, my senses screaming for more.

Oh, fuck.

“Aren’t we in your vacation now?” I whispered, my voice barely audible.

“That’s not an answer, love.”

His voice was intoxicating, laced with something deeper, something raw and magnetic. It reached inside me, tugging at emotions I couldn’t name but couldn’t ignore.

We fought glances for one whole minute. And by that time, I felt different kinds of emotions but mostly, turned on.

I don’t know anything about this guy. I don’t think I will ever know a Kyler King so well, anyway. It’s like he have this barrier surrounding around him, protecting him from anyone to go deeper of his real self.

But upon thinking about it, would I rather be with this man where I couldn’t think of anything but my raging libido or go back to the reality where my husband cheated on me with another woman who’s fucking his asshole?

I can’t see the latter as an option at all. Why would I even try and entertain getting back with Taylor after what I caught him in? I am not even sure to myself which part of what happened had boiled my blood. Whether its him getting sexual with Raphaela or Raphaela sticking a freaking B.O.B in Taylor's butt.

“Yes.” I answered at last.

The way Kyler smiled at me made my heart jumped. No, no. Heart shouldn’t be involve between us. I’m sure he can’t offer that, and I’m not sure I could, too.

Kyler moved his hand up and reached for the loose strands of my hair, moving it back behind my ear.

My breathing was halted as soon as he reached his hands to me. And still, I’m breathless.

I could feel my core quivering as if asking something from him. I wanted to…

“Your turn to ask.” he whispered.

I closed my eyes when I felt his fingers travelled down to my neck, lightly touching my skin.

“Kiss me, please…” it was not a question but a plead he answered fast.

Chapter Thirty-NineChapter 39The next day, I woke up with Kyler's hands wrapped around my waist. The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. For a moment, I lay still, relishing the comforting embrace and the sense of security that Kyler's presence brought. As I shifted slightly, his grip tightened, and he stirred awake. His eyes, still heavy with sleep, met mine. • Pleasure After Pain   Thirty Six

Chapter Thirty-SixChapter 36I ended up sipping my latte at Kyler's penthouse. Alone. The creamy warmth of the coffee did little to soothe the storm of thoughts swirling in my head. Why would Ellanie follow me here just to taunt me?I gazed out of the floor-to-ceiling windows, the cityscape stretched before me like a canvas painted with the hues of a fading sunset. The quietude of the penthouse seemed louder now, each tick of the clock resonating with the unanswered questions in my mind.I couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched, as if invisible eyes bore into my every move. The idea of Ellanie's lurking presence unsettled me. Why this game? Why torment me in the sanctuary of Kyler's space? The familiar scent of Kyler's cologne lingered in the air, a bittersweet reminder of the tender kiss we shared before he left. The juxtaposition of h

  • Pleasure After Pain   Thirty Five

Chapter Thirty-FiveChapter 35"What are you up to, today?" I asked after taking a shower. I saw Kyler wearing his suit, a departure from his usual casual wear. "Business?"Kyler smiled at me, his eyes holding a mixture of determination and a hint of something I couldn't quite place. "I just have two meetings downtown, and I'll be home before noon."I pursed my lips, a subtle unease settling in my stomach. "Okay." I glanced around his penthouse, and the silence seemed to amplify my sense of solitude. I didn't relish the idea of staying here alone while he was away. "Can I go out?""Sure. What do you have in mind?""I noticed the bookstore nearby when we passed by it last night. I want to check out some architectural books."Kyler considered it for a few seconds before nodding his head. "Alright. Is it oka
