Family Scheme

Spider gritted his teeth, watching her drive off. Breathing heavily, he called one of his men "I want every information about her this minute"

His eyes narrowed. She was right, his first mistake was not doing a background check on her and the second one, was underestimating her.

"We'll be meeting soon, princess" He whispered and smirked. His body shook at that moment and he cursed furiously, forcing himself not to scratch.

.....

The next day, Diana woke up only because of the continuous knock that rained on her door.

Her morning sleep was interrupted harshly. Who seeks out someone this early in the morning for goodness sake?!! She turned and used the pillows to cover her ears but the knocks continued.

Diana groaned and put on her slippers then went ahead to open the door. What greeted her was a bunch of ugly faces.

It was crowded in front of her door as her family, maybe it was better not to call them that. A bunch of annoying angry faces stared at her.

She could already guess why they were here.

"We thought you were dead in there. We were just about to break the door. Thankfully, you came out" Her step sister, Angela, said sarcastically.

Diana didn't bother to look at her and asked "Where's grandpa?" yeah, the old man should come take care of this mess. She had no time for this.

"Why? You want to whine to him like the most pampered princess?"

"We heard father is giving the company to you" Thomas, her father's brother spoke. He was a big pot bellied man. Everyone knew he was the good for nothing of the family and the father of 'Klara', her cousin who was well, the only one not in her red book, all of this people were all in her red book.

"So...?" Diana asked, not bothering to be polite.

"Do you think you deserve it?" another one spoke.

"Yes, you know nothing about the company. How do you think you can lead us?"

"You just know how to be rude and throw a tantrum. Even after five years, you didn't change"

Diana wanted to laugh at that, these were the same people who welcomed her with bright smiles on their faces a few days back. In her eyes, they were ants and she couldn't be bothered with them. She had dealt with dangerous people across the globe and had a lot of experience so how could they think she would waste her time with them?

"Is that all?" she asked.

"If you know what is good for you, handover the company rights to us this minute"

"Or what...?" Diana clicked her tongue. Maybe she should just enjoy this.

"You... how dare you talk like that!"

She rolled her eyes and banged the door shut on their faces. Aish... They were so annoying and boring.

How could they just say she should hand over the company rights and expect her to do just that immediately? What did they take her for? Couldn't they at least come up with real schemes that would make her feel threatened? Sighs, this family was so full of dim wits.

She shook her head and wanted to go back to sleep but the people outside started banging on it again so she had no choice than to call her grandpa. He must be out of the house and that was why they were using this opportunity to disturb her.

The phone rang for a long time and no one answered. She figured he must be busy so she went into the bathroom and soaked in the tub ignoring all of the noise outside.

She thought about Ezekiel. Today, she will officially be moving into his house. Today, they will officially be getting married and start to live together.

She didn't mind that it was rushed. After all, they both wanted to gain something from it.

During her university days, she thought she had fallen in love with Ezekiel but later, she thought it was just an infatuation she felt. Maybe because he had a pretty face? The exact reason she started to date him in the first place. Yes, she was a lover of pretty faces, she had seen her own fair share of pretty guys but Ezekiel Miles, he was on a whole different level. When she first met him, he took her breath away. She was left in awe and wondered how someone could be so handsome and then he started to show an interest in her and then she jumped at the opportunity to date him why? Because he was pretty!

What she didn't expect was that she would fall so deep for him.

And one day, one unfaithful day when he had broke up with her in public and said all of those hurtful words to her, when...

Diana closed her eyes, forcing herself not to think about it. She rinsed her body, got out of the tub and dressed up for the day.

That day, she didn't see her grandpa when she went to sign the marriage papers or when she took one of her luggages to Ezekiel's house. He didn't show up in the house or return her call. She wasn't worried that something bad might've happened to him anyway because he had a bunch of people protecting him from the shadows.

She arrived at what looked like a mansion. Scratch that, it was a mansion, a big mansion she knew was worth billions. She drove in and the guards greeted her politely.

They were already informed of her identity as the boss's wife so they were extra polite. Diana didn't bother with them. Apart from agreeing to marry that fucker because of the interest her grandfather offered, she also had a new goal which was to make him SUFFER.

She suddenly let out a creepy laugh as she thought about all the things she had in store for him. Thankfully, she was alone in the car so no one would think she was a deranged being given the way she laughed like a maniac. She glanced at the writings she had scribbled on a piece of paper a while ago.

Ezekiel die! If you cannot die, I'll make you run mad. I will watch them take you into a mental hospital and only then will I be satisfied.

The first things she had on her list was to strengthen her company.

Diana didn't like how Ezekiel was able to threaten her with the company she worked hard to build. Remembering the loopholes she had noticed, Diana thought to fix them.

In a way, he had also helped notice all of those things she wouldn't have on a normal day.
