SARA'S POV
I screamed out and stepped back, but that almost made me lose my balance. How did he get to me? How was it possible for him to find out I escaped? What did I do wrong in my plan of escape?
I wanted to hit myself right then but I would also feel the pain too. I could have been more careful and probably, I would have gone away from him.
He took a step forward and I tightened my hold on my clothes, not daring to move or look back. If I took another step backward, I would end up falling to my death and nothing would be going flow me. Not even my body. No one would be able to survive a fall from the cliff.
Mother and Stella wouldn't be able to see me again. I need to get my family again. They must be so worried about me.
"Do not come any closer to me," I warned. "One more step and I will be falling down this cliff."
He said nothing but continued staring at me which only made my stomach tighten, threatening to burst open my body.
He wasn't moving too. What was he planning? Different ways to kill me? Well, I wasn't expecting less and at the same time, I wasn't willing to go down without a fight.
"Just stay away from me already," I warned again, to make him leave, but he didn't.
For the first time, he spoke and his words cut through me like a sharp-edged sword. He snarled, "Go ahead and fall off the cliff. Why would I care? Who do you think you are to me?" His voice was like spitting fire, ready to burn me whole. His eyes we speaking rage. His jaw was clutched. I was in for a lot of trouble.
"I said go ahead!" He half yelled, forcing me to scream and shut my eyes. "Do you think I care about you? You mean nothing to me anyway. You are my mate, which doesn't mean I am desperate to have you, so you can't threaten me and expect me to hurriedly do as you say."
I felt my heart throbbing fast. Thought he was being possessive a while ago. We even slept with each other.
I shook my head and lowered my gaze. I shouldn't be thinking about that. It was a mistake and I used pretense it never happened between us. It never did. We were both heated that moment and things happened.
I was still trying to clear my head and stop his words from repeating in my ears when the edge I was standing on, broke.
The next thing I knew was, I was going down the cliff with my screaming echoing. That was my death? Was the universe so lucky on me to have made my death terrible? I had hoped to die in old age, healthy and full of smiles.
I kept going down, taking me to the bottom of the almost unending pit. I don't know what happened next or how it did, but the next thing I remembered was claws grabbing my clothes and pushing me up.
I was never going down the cliff, I was being held by strong hands. I stopped screaming but it was replaced with panting.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked down, allowing a gasp to escape my lips. I looked up and saw my knight in shining armor, holding me effortlessly on his arm but his nails were garp and long and his eyes were red.
"A foolish step you took, Sara." That was the second time he was calling me name and I was beginning to wonder how he knew my name.
"You know, I can let you go and you fall off just as you want to."
My heart skipped a beat. "Please don't. I don't want to die."
He laughed, "Then behave your self darling, and don't make me mad."
Was he crazy? He was still going to let me stay?
Would I ever get used to his appearance? I had two choices, one to push him off and fall off the cliff or to allow him to stand straight, then I decided and when I was far ahead, I left for my safety.
I don't know about the second option but it seemed foolish to me. He helped me up and made me stand still. "Do you hate me? Do you want your freedom so badly that you would decide to end your life?"
I do hate him. I hate him so much for capturing me. I want my freedom badly. I need to go see my family. And for ending my life, it wasn't my plan. I came to a dead end, but anyway, I was going to pretend that wasn't what happened. He might let me go, knowing I hate him so much.
"I don't like you and yes, I wanted to go far away from you. You said you would find me anywhere I run to in this world and had to make a plan to end my life so you wouldn't be able to find me." I lied but I wasn't bothered cause of what the assumed end might be.
He stepped forward and took my hand in his. "Say that again in my face."
"I don't like you. Even a bit. You should stay away from me as I am not your puppet." I answered back through gritted teeth.
He let go of my hand and stepped back, not taking his piercing gaze away from my face. I could see the anger, rage, and new hostility, all covering his face and he seemed ready to be different to me.
I feared for my life at that moment and unconsciously moved back. He would kill me. He would kill me.
"Then, let's make this official." He grunted.
What were we making official? That fact that he was going to kill me or that he was going to marry me forcefully? I had so many thoughts running in my mind.
"I, Jethro, reject you, Sara, as my mate. From this day onward, we are not connected by a bond and thereby, we have nothing to do with each other. You are free to go your separate ways." He declared and I felt and chill in my heart.

Sara's P.O.V I hummed softly to myself as I cleaned Vincent's bedroom, my hands gliding easily across the surfaces. My eyes strayed to his dresser, toward that one drawer he'd always said not to touch. Curious, I wondered what could be so special in that one little drawer. "A surprise?" I asked innocently. My fingers found the handle and drew the drawer open in a second. Inside were heaps of photos. The first I picked was of a man crowned, an aura of melancholy diffused about him. A lot about him seemed so familiar, yet I just couldn't place who he was.I went onto the next picture couple embracing. The woman's face stirred something in my system. "Emma? Elias?" I blurred my head racing. Then, a sharp pain pierced my head, and pictures slipped from my hands as a groan escaped my lips.A voice reverberated inside my head, "I love you, and you are forever mine." But it wasn't Vincent's voice. There came confusion inside me. Picking up the coronation picture, the rise of tears was to be
Jethro's POV Three Months later…%.Three months had passed since that fateful day. I sat in my throne room, full of the grandeur of a restored kingdom but my heart was still shattered. Ryker's defeat and Tanisha's demise brought peace, but only Eldrid still stirred in my heart.Elias entered, his face solemn. "Your Highness," he greeted low. I did not even look up. "Did you find her?" I asked without any expectation of a different answer. The pause that followed was all the answer Elias needed. "Nein, Your Highness." I looked down, my eyes welling up hot. I had sent Elias to scour the ruins-to search every inch of the explosion site. But there was nothing. No sign of Sara. No indication of her fate.I clung to hope, tenuous as the thinnest of threads but refused to break. She may yet be alive. She must. Elias stepped near. His footsteps made quiet echoes in the still hall. "I have searched every possible place, Jethro," he said, using my name rather than my title. "I have interrogate
Jethro's P.O.V.I stormed down the corridors of Ryker's lair-my sword slicing through the shadows. Guards leaped to intercept me, but with rage fueling my movements, I cut them down with precision. Finally, I burst into Ryker's chamber, my eyes locking onto the man himself.Ryker stood calmly, an amused hint dancing on his lips."Where is Sara?" I yelled, my voice echoing off the stone walls. "Where are you keeping her?"Ryker's smile spread wider, but nothing fell from his lips. "Liar!" I spat, my hand tightening on my sword hilt. "I know you're behind this." Ryker somehow managed to lift an eyebrow. "Sara? Do you think I have Sara? You ought to know me by now, Jethro. If I had Sara, I'd leave a message. But I don't have Sara." Anger spilled over and I was yelling, "You're lying!Ryker's men drew their swords and, in the dim light of the room, angled them at me."Be careful, Jethro," Ryker said, his voice thick with malice. "You're on my turf, surrounded by my men. Your recklessne
Sara's POV I slowly opened my eyes, grogginess fogging my brain. Where was I? The air was heavy with darkness and an eerie silence.A faint splash sounded through the room followed by a cold trickle down my face. I jackknifed upwards, gasping.Someone was sitting beside me, swathed in shadows. My eyes slowly accommodated to the dim light and the outline of a woman appeared."Welcome back, Sara," she said, her voice oozing malice. The woman leaned forward, and a sliver of light danced across her features, revealing Tanisha's sinister smile."You must be wondering where you are," Tanisha said, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Let's just say you're guessing with me."Memories came flooding back to Emma's visit, the figure in black, the knock to the head. My mind reeled; fear clawed its way up my throat.Tanisha did not even bat an eye. "You see, Sara, you're quite valuable to me. Your. Particular talents could tip the scales in Ryker's favor."My heart plummeted. Emma's words replayed
