~DAHLIA~

As soon as Kade let go of Tristan, he turned to me with wide eyes.

“What the fuck is going on in here? Why was I just held down with a knife pressed against my throat by your Beta?" Tristan uttered as he slowly turned towards the Axel.

“I don't think I ever had to explain myself to you. Kade? Help Dahlia find the proof she needs and immediately that's done, send me a message. I'll come pick you up myself, Little wolf but right now I have some pressing issues to attend to. Don't miss me too much," He uttered and reached forward to caress my face but I slapped it away as I glared at him.

He stared at me for a while then chuckled before disappearing into thin air.

“Can someone explain to me what's going on?" Tristan questioned as he glanced between Kade and I.

“That doesn't concern you. Come with me, Dahlia. We have proof to find." Kade uttered as he dragged onto my hand and led me out of the room with Tristan instantly tailing behind us.

“Of course it concerns me. She's my mate," Tristan uttered and I halted in my steps. Kade gave me a look but I just flashed him a small smile.

“Let me talk to him alone please. Just for a minute," I murmured and he frowned.

“If Axel finds out…"

“It's a secret between you and me. It would only take a minute," Kade system at me for a while then let out a sigh.

“I'll be outside waiting for you," He muttered then glanced at Tristan before walking away.

“Are you okay? Did they hurt you?.." Tristan tried reaching for my hand but I moved backwards before he could get closer.

“I'm dead to you, Tristan. After I've gotten my proof, I'll go live with the Alpha King and you can do whatever the fuck you want with Valerie for all I care." I muttered and was about to walk away but he immediately grabbed my hand.

“I was never going to kill you. I wanted to scare you and I never sent anyone to hurt you, Dahlia but you have to understand that you committed a great offense against me, the pack, everyone. If you just come clean to me, I…" I snatched my hand out of his grip and laughed slowly with no trace of humor in it.

“No matter what you say, I can never forgive you. I hope all this was worth losing the love we shared, was worth losing me. You chose to believe my sister's words over mine? I was your mate." My voice broke slightly and I hated myself for it. Why was I still affected by him? It made no sense.

“I didn't choose Valerie over you, Dahlia. I can never do that." He muttered and I scoffed.

“You are fucking sleeping with her!" I screamed out of frustration and his eyes widened before he began shaking his head frantically.

“I have never slept with Valerie. I could never do that to you. Is that how low you think of me?" He asked gently and I frowned. He wasn't sleeping with her? But Andrew…

“You don't want to know just how low I think of you, Tristan. Trust me. I'll be on my way now," I muttered then turned around and hurriedly walked away before he could stop me with a million thoughts running through my head. Was he telling the truth or was he just playing me?

If he was then Andrew had lied to me? That can't be possible. He would never do that.

“You okay?" I turned towards the voice and saw Kade staring at me with worry in his eyes. I smiled slightly then nodded my head before taking a deep breath.

“So how are we finding this proof?" I questioned as I walked closer to him.

“Tell me everything." And I did. I told him how I had been the one brewing the medicine for the Alpha ever since he got mysteriously sick.

“Why were you the one brewing the medicine?" He questioned, halting my words.

“Because I have a gift. I can heal any sickness with my herbs, I just need to have everything I need. Anyway, things were going smoothly and the Alpha was getting better till one day after I gave him his medicine, he died and I was immediately seized" I muttered and he hummed.

“Were you the only one brewing the medicine or you had an apprentice?" He questioned and I nodded slowly.

“Yes but she won't do anything that will tarnish me," I muttered and he tilted his head.

“Don't be so trusting, flower. Come on,we have an investigation to carry out. Lead me to her," He uttered and I reluctantly did.

“You cannot hurt her, okay?" I uttered as we stood in front of her door.

”Okay." He muttered and I took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

“Sarah? It's me, Dahlia. I need to speak with you," I called out when she didn't reply then sighed as I turned to Kade.

“I guess she's not home." I muttered and he shook his head.

“She is," Just then, he kicked down the door and I gasped as I watched him walk in.

“Kade? You can't…" Before I could get a word out, I saw Sarah seated at the corner of the living room, shivering in fear.

“Sarah, what are you…" I murmured as I tried moving towards her but she raised her hand to stop me with her eyes fixated on Kade.

“Please, please don't hurt me. It wasn't my fault, I had to… I had to," She cried out as she shook frantically. I turned to Kade and saw that he had a calm expression on his face so why was Sarah this scared?

My eyes widened as it suddenly dawned on me. I could feel his Aura but I was sure it was worse for someone with a wolf. It probably felt like she was staring at death.

“Dahlia, wait outside. I need to talk to her alone," He muttered and I frowned.

“What? But we…"

“Just listen to me… please?" He murmured. I stared at him for a while then sighed as I glanced at Sarah before walking away.

I halted at the door then turned to him.

“You are not going to hurt her, are you?" I questioned softly and he shook his head.

“I'll leave the punishments to the Alpha King."...
