Mila’s POV…

At first, the sound of his voice on the phone woke me up, but even when his call ended I couldn’t go back to sleep. Rather, I stared at him from the bed, admiring his physique.

For a moment, my mind wasn't fixated on the dull ache in my chest or the pain in my eye from constant crying; instead, my eyes traced from Zaden's muscular arms, where his polo shirt hugged him tightly, to the loose grey pants that hung from his waist.

Just his presence alone messes with my head like an addictive drug that makes me forget my current situation.

“Sorry, if I woke you up.” His husky voice reached my ears, breaking my gaze from his body to meet his eyes.

“It's fine, I slept for quite a while, so I am okay.”

“Okay.” Zaden sat on the chair beside me with his eyes still on me.
