Chapter Twenty-Three.

It would be very foolish of her to think that was the last time she’d see Colton, but it was all that poisoned her mind as she sat behind his table, her hands folded to wedge her up. She quivered, unknowing to her that she was nervous even though it had been minutes since they came in.

Leonardo blessed her with silence as he stood, leaning against the mini bar in his office. He had in his hands, a glass of Remy Martin as he looked back and forth his windows and her.

“He’s gone.” He broke the news as if it had just happened.

She hummed, barely giving him any eye contact but she could feel his boring into the back of her head. His lips parted to ask the obvious question. “Who is he?” His voice deepened. “That man.”

Isabella knew it was only a matter of time till he asked, but still she didn’t have the words. If he claimed to know as much about her as he did—then surely she’d know about Colton Chambers.
