Cardan

A dark chuckle slipped from my lips as I regarded him with a cold dead eyed look. For a King, he was gullible. Little wonder his people got taken away by the mere humans.

His spine was straight, his grey gaze unyielding, showing determination and bravado…to the wrong audience. Fool.

“It is not a whisper in passing, Cardan,” he said, seemingly irritated by my laughter in mockery of him. He was more bark than bite, this one. A disgrace to the Dark elves. His half brother, as dark and the colour black, figuratively and literally, would have done much better at protecting the Elven realm.

“It is a fact widely known. You have been… interested in our lands.” His gaze flicked over me, cool, assessing. “For reasons best known only to you.”

For a heartbeat, silence stretched thin, taut as a bowstring. Then I laughed. Again. This guy should really consider a career switch to being a clown.

I leaned back, tipping my head slightly, letting the sound roll until it died into a grin that w

Scarlett Disappointed and regretful, I let out a deep sigh filled with all the emotions I bottled up inside. This was a befitting punishment for a traitor like myself. No way home. After all that had happened that morning, the lord Cardan had left me a crying whimpering mess. He had made his intentions clear too so there were no assumptions about them. His words still burned into my skin like a brand:"Get ready. When I summon you, you will come to my chambers and offer your service."It had not been a request—it was a sentence.Since then, I had been living as though a blade hovered over my throat, suspended by nothing but his whim. Every passing hour felt like a countdown, ticking mercilessly toward the day of my execution—whether it would come in the form of his bed or his wrath, I could not tell.I avoided him like one avoids the shadow of death itself. If I sensed his presence in the corridor, I slipped into side halls, pressed my back against cold stone, and held my breath unti

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    The Truth Is I Want You

ScarlettThis man terrified me to my very core. I knew what he wanted, and every part of me screamed to run, to hide, to vanish before he could take it. Yet some twisted pull kept me rooted, drawn to him like a moth to a flame I knew would burn me alive. His devilishly handsome face was a cruel distraction.Maybe this was why I had been treated differently from the others. Why he had given me a room, a bed, a kind of home. Not out of kindness, but because one day he would demand his price. He turned to leave, and I should have been relieved. But the words tore out of me before I could stop them, reckless, trembling, defiant.“When are you going to release me from here?”The question crackedthrough the air like lightning—deadly, but impossible to take back.I was aware that whatever was going on between us was crossing the master-slave relationship we had. So far, I knew he was attracted to me—and curse the goddess, I was to him. But I was also pregnant for another man’s child. The sec

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    A Point To Prove

CardanThe way her eyes widened when she saw me—ah, that was worth every second of breaking into her chamber. She looked like a doe cornered in the woods, wide-eyed and desperate to run but too horrified to move. It amused me far more than it should have. She stood like someone ready to sprint or fight—weight forward, every muscle coiled. I leaned casually against the bedpost, arms folded, having my own little fun watching her reactions. “I walked through the door,” I had told her, and the way her throat had bobbed as she swallowed hard almost made me laugh outright. Was she falling for an obvious joke? Cute. That told me one thing. She knew that Lycans had abilities. But walking through doors was not my forte. Even though I wished it was. There were a lot of doors I would have loved to walk through. Fortunately, rooms in the packhouse were warded, layered with protective spells that had stood for generations, guarding against infiltration.“I didn’t know I had such an effect on you,

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    Dark And Dangerous

ScarlettIt was going to take me a long time to recover from the trauma of having to wake up early. Because here I was in a king size bed with my eyes wide open staring at the moving hands of the clock at 4am.I was hungry. And horny. Crazy, since I had gone to bed with tears for dinner… I might as well have them for breakfast. I didn't know what to do with my emotions being all over the place. It felt like I was no longer in control of my body and the mouth watering scent in the air didn't help matters. It smelled like coconut flakes and vanilla. The smell made me crave for all things sweet and tooth rot inducing. Ice-cream dripping down my fingers, cookies warm from the oven, candy that stuck to my teeth. I couldn't remember the last time I was privy to such luxury. They were things I used to take for granted. Things I had no business craving now. Not when my people were crawling in the dirt, fed scraps, stripped of dignity. Not when they had been forced to live a life that was ba

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    Whispers

CardanThe thumping sound of the rope hitting the pavement was all that could be heard in the large space. Followed by the rhythmic clang of metal hitting metal echoing through the gym. My hands gripped the iron bar, veins straining under the pressure as I pushed the weight up with not as much strain. The repetition steadied me, burned the chaos from my mind until all that was left was the raw ache of muscle and the sharp focus that came with it.Routine. It was the one thing that kept me in control. My body knew the pattern, the rhythm, the pace. The gym smelled of steel, chalk, and faint leather, the comforting scent of order. Especially after what had happened tonight and how discombobulated I had been since then.Goddess knows all I wanted to do was pin the woman to the floor and take her like a beast. But it would all be too much for her. She would break…too soon.I had barely racked the barbell when I sensed him. A shift in the air. The subtle bend of presence that told me I wa
