Scarlett

By the time I reached the hotel, my legs ached and the bags in my hands felt like lead. I was still replaying that glimpse of pink hair over and over in my head, unsure if I was losing my mind or if fate was playing another cruel trick.

The moment I stepped into the lobby, I spotted him. My so-called escort.

He was standing rigid near the elevators, jaw tight, eyes scanning the crowd like he’d been at war with his own nerves all day. When he saw me, his shoulders dropped, but not in relief but in frustration.

“Where the hell have you been?” he hissed under his breath the second I was close enough. “You were supposed to wait for me. Do you have any idea—” He cut himself off, raking a hand down his face. His voice lowered, sharp with tension. “If anything had happened to you…”

My stomach knotted. Guilt hit me harder than I expected.

I had thought of Cardan’s credit card, of sticking it to him with champagne and silk blouses. I hadn’t once thought about how this man who didn’t ev

ScarlettI stared at her with hatred bleeding through my bones as my body trembled. My breath came in short, broken gasps, and my nails cut into my palms, drawing blood“What are you doing here?” I rasped, my voice shaking with raw emotions. “What do you want from me? Why are you here?”The smirk on her lips only widened. Her head tilted slightly as if she was amused by my desperation.“Woah, woah, Scarlett,” she said, her tone dripping with mockery. “A question at a time, love. You’re spilling over yourself.” Her hand drifted lazily over the swell of her gown where her stomach rested beneath, her fingers curling protectively in a gesture so deliberate it made my blood boil. “First things first. Won’t you congratulate me?”Her grin sharpened. “I’m pregnant. With Caleb’s child. That wouldn’t be nice of you, would it?”Something inside me snapped. My vision blurred with hot, acidic tears of fury. I glared at her with such hatred I thought it might tear me apart from the inside.“Congrat

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    The Colour Purple

ScarlettMy lungs seemed to have forgotten how to work and every muscle in my body was strung so tightly it felt like the smallest touch could shatter me into pieces. From the far side of the hall, heels clicked against the polished floor. The nearing sound was my undoing. The crowd parted for her like she was the goddess they had been waiting to worship. She climbed the stage with grace so practiced it made bile sting the back of my throat. Draped in flowing silk, the gown hugged her figure like it had been made for her alone. Purple. Of course it was purple. Her favourite colour. The same colour she had claimed was made for queens. For women who carried themselves with power. To think she had been Caleb's mate and queen while she pretended to be my best friend and watch me fall in love with him.It had all been a plot for me Pack's downfall.“Thank you,” Her voice sounded steady as she spoke into the mic. “Your welcome humbles me.”The words rolled off her tongue with ease, laced wi

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    Confrontation

ScarlettI stood before the mirror, hands trembling as I fastened the thin straps of the black gown that had been laid out for me. It clung too closely for my comfort, the fabric drawing attention to every line of my body. My eyes betrayed me, drifting lower, to the faintest swell of my stomach. Barely there, almost invisible, but to me, it might as well have been a mountain.I pressed my palm attempting to feel it and see if it was that obvious. No one else could see it yet. But how much longer until they couldSwallowing back the rising tide of panic, I forced my hands away, adjusted the gown, and pinned my hair into a sleek twist. Every detail of my appearance had to be perfect, flawless, distracting. If I could keep the world’s eyes on my face, perhaps they wouldn’t look lower. When Cardan knocked once more to say it was time, I managed a smile. “Go on ahead of me,” I said softly. “I’ll just be a moment.”He studied me, suspicion flickering behind his green gaze, but after a pause

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    The Reunion

Scarlett The newcomer froze in the doorway when he saw me.For a moment, his gaze locked with mine. Those eyes, familiar in a way that made my breath seize, stared at me with something I dared not to interpret. Shock. Guilt. Recognition. And then all of it was gone in a blink. He looked straight past me as if I wasn’t even there. Like I was a ghost.“Alpha,” he said smoothly, like the sight of me hadn’t rattled him at all. “It’s been too long.”My throat tightened. My palms immediately became sweaty and my throat clogged up with a cry of sorrow, anguish, unbelief and betrayal. My knees threatened to give out under me as my brain scrambled, refusing to accept what my eyes already knew. What was Caleb doing here? The man who lived in my nightmares. The man who was the cause of my nightmares. He was right here in the land of Lycans in the flesh. My eyes could only see red as I stared at the silhouette of him. The man I desperately do react of killing a thousand times. Caleb! The name

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    A God In Bed and In The Kitchen

Scarlett I had been reminding myself over and over and over, because if I didn’t keep that thought circulating in my brain, I would forget Cardan couldn’t be trusted. Worse, I could develop feelings more dangerous than the ones already brewing. I couldn’t afford deep feelings or connections. Yes, it had been comforting to wake up with his strong warm arms wrapped around me and his fingers caressing me. When I’d shift or move, his hand always found me. But I didn’t need that from Cardan. He and I were opportunists, using each other. We were enjoying each other’s bodies at night. That was where I drew the line. I wasn’t going to get used to him staying in my bed. I wasn’t counting on that delicious body and tanned skin to be around for long. I wasn’t admitting how adorable it was that he looked practically like a fallen angel when he was asleep. Nope. Not doing that.Still naked, I marched back to the dryer with my dignity hanging by a frayed thread. I yanked it open and pulled out

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    Swiper No Swiping

Scarlett“UGH. WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY?” I dug through the laundry basket at the base of the dryer, searching for the clothes I wore moments before our morning adventure. Like before, all my clothes were gone without trace. The blue shirt I had worn was something I didn't want replaced. I had managed to find it from the last time my clothes had been swiped off. It wasn’t under five towels or his impressive collection of folded socks that all had a pair. What a perfectionist.Abandoning that basket for the one next to the washing machine, I searched but came back empty-handed. It wasn’t on one of the many empty hangers in his closet either. The only other place they could be was the dryer itself. Wearing absolutely nothing but my own skin and hair, I knelt in front of the machine and began digging. “What are you doing?” “Shit.” I jumped at Cardan's voice, clutching my heart. “You scared me.” “Sorry.” I rolled my eyes and kept digging, I was irritated at him for practically steal
