CHAPTER FIVE

"Please sir,Amelia..is innocent. " her soft sob made her stutter.

"Who are you?"

"I am her younger sister,I know her too well..she," zelda struggled to talk as he stared at her.They had no resemblance.Zelda had a fair,more prominent cheekbone,but Amelia was prettier.

"She harmed my grandma,i dont care what you know,i never want to see your pitiful self again!"

She stared at him with trembling hands.She tried to hold his leg again, but his bodyguard was faster.

He pushed her with a force that made her bruise her knee.

He felt anger surge through him.why? The bodyguard was just doing his job.

He walked past her as Zelda continued to sob.

He walked into the hospital,a quiet heaviness settled in his chest.

He brushed it off and entered his grandma's ward.

But grandma was not there.

"Grandma?" No answer.

"She is in the emergency ward, sir." A doctor spoke behind him.

What?"

"Yes sir,her case got worse,the poison affected her lungs and -"

He rushed past the doctor,he wanted to see his grandma first.

Entering the ward,his mother sat beside grandma pia.

His grandma wore an oxygen mask.

"Grandma? "

He spoke softly,with a trembling voice.

He loved her.He couldn't imagine life without his grandma.

Now,he was on the verge of losing her.

"Why wasn't i informed?" He asked the doctor who stepped backward. The intensity in his voice scared him obviously.

"Grandma said we shouldn't disturb you, sir,"

"And you fucking agreed! I swear if anything happens to her,It won't end well for you!"

With that, he stormed out,entering his car.

He felt breathless,he needed to breathe.He loosened his tie and slowly removed his cufflinks

"Sir,where to?"

"The basement"

Amelia. He muttered softly.why do i want to see you so badly.

That night,two weeks ago, he had convinced himself she was a one night stand.

Yet,seeing her again awakened a feeling he had no business with

Fuck,he muttered. He shouldn't be thinking about someone else,he had Carolina.

And she was enough for him.

Amelia wasn't supposed to be in the picture.

When he arrived at the basement,he heard screams from the inside.

He wondered,Damien had already dealt with her yesterday night,yet she refuse to talk.

"Haaaaa" it was Amelia's soft voice,crying out in pain.

Panic surged through him,who dared to hurt her?

He rushed into the basement to see his sister standing beside Amelia,slapping her cheeks repeatedly.

"You are the reason my grandma is seriously sick,you don't deserve to live!" She yelled ,lashing out on amelia.

She raised her hand to hit Amelia again, but his deep voice made her froze.

"Dont you dare touch her!" His deep voice made her flinch.

He looked down to see Amelia.

The distinct smell of blood.Her face was swollen.

He stopped in his track as she heard her crying softly.

It did something to him.

His heart clenched,he hated how she was.Battered.Bruised.

By him..

His jaw tightened as he turned to his sister, who stood glaring at him.

"Who gave you permission to enter the basement and hurt someone!" I barked stepping forward.

She stared shocked. I had never shouted on her.

Not since the accident 4 years ago,when we almost lost our lives,if not for Carolina.We won't be alive.

Juli had to battle with post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD).

ROMAN'S POV.

"You yelled at me,because of this bitch who tried to harm grandma?!"

"I am sorry"

Tears ran down her cheeks as she glanced at amelia.

"Promise me she would pay!"

"She will" if she's guilty but he dare not say I aloud.

I stared at her for awhile.

'Still don't want to talk?"

She didnt say a word.

That irritated me.

I glanced at her noticing she was wincing in pain.

"You are a fucking bastard!"

She spoke annoyed.

"What did you just say?"

"You heard me!you are a fucking-"

She didnt get the chance to complete that statement,I stopped dangerously close.

AUTHOR'S POV

"Dont ever raise your voice at me !"She glared at him. He chuckled.

" Does it hurt?"

He caressed her cheek softly.

"Just tell me the truth. I will set you free"

She stared at him,not saying any word.

"My sister was right,maybe I shouldn't give you any leniency!"he yelled, angry that she was ignoring him.

"I..i..''Her voice echoed softly in the room.

He turned. Slowly.

"I need pad." She finally said.Tears rolled down her cheeks.flushed Cheeks.

Realization dawned on Roman.

He quickly got up.

He didn't know what prompted him to do so, but he put his hand forward.

"Come." She looked at him, unsure. He stared at her teary face,his annoyance palpable. She tried to stand, but her legs were shaking.

She bit her lip as he stared at her.

A few minutes later,she had changed into a new pair of clothes.

Now,fresh and wounded.

She needed medical attention.

"Get in," he muttered, opening the car door.

Amelia stood staring with a defiant look.

"Stop testing my patience,get in!"

"Whats your deal, Roman?"

He frozed.Excitement bubbled into him. The first time, she was calling his name.

"My deal?its the audacity for me!"

"One minute, you are torturing me.The next,you are acting like all this is not your fault!"

His jaw tightened as he felt the pain behind her words.

"I,I will never forgive you"

He moved. Two strides toward her,stopping dangerously close.

Something flickered in his chest,regret? Desire.Confusion.

He opened his mouth. No sound came out.

"Get in" He managed to say softly.

But Amelia swayed slightly.He rushed to hold her.

''What-"

Her body went limp in his arms.

"AMELIA!!!!"
