POV: Heather

He read my thoughts and discovered that I’d known about his ex-wife and Vinnie, and yet I didn’t say anything about it. That made him so pissed and he walked away from me, calling me a freaking liar. I felt a sharp pain in my heart as he swore never to forgive me for lying to him. It felt as if my whole world was crumbling before my very eyes. I’ve felt his anger before, but it was never this much, and he never looked this disappointed before.

Everyone in the room looked so confused as he walked out on me, leaving me to either follow him out or remain in there with the remains of my family. Only Alexia understood what was going on between us. She came to me before I could fall down and cry my eyes out. She held me so right, holding me in her arms as the tears flowed freely down my cheeks.

“What did I do?” I thought to myself as Alexia led me to the car. I’m sure if we didn’t come out on time, Xander would have left us behind. He looks so angry that it scares me to even lo
