Chapter 12
I awoke submerged into what almost felt like a cloud of warmth, velvet sheets tucked around my body. I yawned stretching my body out until I heard the familiar satisfying cracks of my bones as I realized where I was. I sat up quickly looking around Luna Ashly’s office, surprised to find myself on a mattress next to her desk. A note was folded next to me. I picked it and smiled at her words;
My sweet Laura, I did not want to disrupt your sleep. Please take care of yourself as I and the Alpha will be away for the next week on pack business. Try and be mindful of Alpha Victor as he is insistent on claiming you, I have warned him to stay away but matters of this nature never tend to be straightforward.

Suspiciously I located Xander rather quickly, giggling in conversation with Anya behind the packhouse behind some of the forestry. He gave me an odd nervous smile. “Oh, well…” He paused, running his hand through his hair looking past me out the open door. His eyes flicked back to me before he sighed, I held firm and crossed my arms showing him I was not going to let this go. He groaned before speaking. “I just… Ellen… I…” his tone seemed panicked.
