Chapter 1
Ariel POV "What are you thinking about, Ariel?" Amelie's voice sounds behind me, and I turn to see her walking elegantly over to me, with a basket in her hand. "Nothing, I'm just checking out some things here," I reply to her, turning my attention back to the flower I was playing with. Coming to the woods every day to get leaf for herbs for mother is something fun and at the same time tiring. Just about two months ago, I woke up in this place under a roof amongst a family of two, with my head blank, not even an idea about who I am, or where I am from. All I could remember was my name. Amelie and her mom took me in, and hence, treated me like I'm a part of their family. According to what they told me, they found me lying helplessly along the river with my body bruised up, and they were nice enough to bring me home and treat me until I was fine again.Amelie and her mother, Adeline, are one of the werewolves of the Blue Crest pack, and they are known as the best healers. Living amongst the werewolves of the Blue Crest pack for the recent weeks has been difficult for me, especially trying to fit in the life here and get adapted to things, which are so strange to me. Blue Crest pack is rumored to be the most influential pack amongst other werewolf packs and is ruled by the ruthless and heartless billionaire alpha Kai, a young CEO of The Blue Crest group of company, which was said to be the Pack's business where they get their wealth from. I have only heard of him, but have never met him in person. "Let's head home already, Ariel. It's getting late," Amelie says to me as she walks past me. Rumor had it that it's always dangerous being out at this time, since the Blue Crest pack has too many enemies that are always lurking around, and waiting for opportunities to strike any member of the pack they come across. Walking down the woods a few minutes later, a lot of thoughts fill my heart, as I can't help the many questions that I have been asking myself all these while, but never got answers to any of them. Will I ever get to get back my memory? Well, that will be left to be answered by my fate. "I heard that the alpha is hosting a party at the villa later. Do you care to go with me?" Amelie suddenly asks out of the blue, as we take the final route that leads to our house. Yes, the alpha and other indigenous members of the pack lives in the villa, while the lower ranking werewolves are made to live outside the villa like commoners that they are, or we are, rather. "No, I prefer to stay at home," I reply to her, and she rolls her eyes at me. "Why?" She asks me, and I shrug. Well, since I'm still new to this place, I do not want to get into trouble here. "Nothing really," I reply to her, and she nods her head. We finally arrive home, and mother is already out to God knows where. I guess she must've gone to heal someone, just my guess, though. "You should get something to eat, Ariel. I need to go deliver some herbs to the beta. I'll be back shortly," She says to me while having a smile dancing on her lips. Well, Amelie has been fantasizing about this beta whom I know nothing about. Although they are not mates, since Amelie is just sixteen and yet to find her mate, but she's really crazy about this beta guy. "Alright. Don't get into trouble over there, and make sure you come back early," I say to her before she finally exits the house, leaving me alone for now. Taking a deep breath, I throw myself on my small bed and stare up at the ceiling as many thoughts linger in my mind. My family, are they worried about me? What do they look like? How old am I? Those are the questions I have been asking myself for the past weeks, even though I may never get answers to them. The sound of the footsteps drawing close outside pull my attention, and I quickly sit up on the bed, a bit scared. I am the only one at home, so it's only fine that I get scared, yeah? A knock finally sounds on the door and turns out that it's mother that's there. "Mother?" I call as I walk over to the door, and pull it open, revealing the woman in her mid-forties. After I woke up, she demanded that I call her mother, since that is what her daughter calls her, so I won't feel awkward later. "Has it been long since you came back home? Where is Amelie?" She asks as she turns and starts walking away, and I need no one to tell me that she wants me to come with her. "We came back a few minutes ago. Amelie said that she needs to deliver something to the beta and will be back shortly," I reply to her, and she nods her head as she throws herself on the chair in the small living room. She must be so exhausted. "Do you need me to get you some water? Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat," I ask her, but she just shakes her head in denial, and I nod my head. "Help me deliver this to the villa. The alpha's daughter is not feeling too well, but I don't think I can go there by myself," She says, pointing to the basket on the table, and I pull a puzzled look. It's not about the delivery that gets me shocked, but the fact that the alpha has a kid. I haven't heard about that yet, and besides, people said that he's just twenty-five, how come he already has a child? "Can't he have a child at his age?" My subconscious mind asks my foolish self, and I shrug mentally. "Alright, mother. I will be on my way now," Reaching for the basket, I finally stride out of the house. It's literally my first time going to the villa, and I'm so nervous right now. I don't want to get into trouble in there. Arriving at the villa after a long walk, the guards usher me in immediately I told them that I'm here for the alpha's daughter who is sick. The villa is so big just like I thought, it is evident why only royalties and other indigenous members of the pack are allowed to stay here. "You must be the healer's servant, right?" Arriving at the supposed room where the alpha's daughter is, a woman in her mid-forties that just came outside asks me, and I slowly nod my head. "Please come inside," She ushers me in, holding the door ajar for me, and I walk inside. My mouth almost drops open in shock as soon as I step into the spacious large room with a queen-sized bed in the middle of it. Taking a minute to admire the room and know what it looks like, because why not? Well, the room is designed just for the taste of little children. I wasn't expecting less. Finally walking over to the little girl that looks like she must be seven or eight years old, I place my hand on her forehead, and she's burning up inside. What could've happened to her? Since mother has taught me a few things about herb and how to administer it to people, I know that I can handle this. I take my time to administer the herb to her until she takes every drop of it as instructed by mother. I wonder why she wasn't taken to the pack hospital, since there are professional medical doctors there that can treat her. Who am I to question them? Who knows? Maybe they have their reasons. "She just needs to rest, and she'll be fine," I say to the woman, getting ready to leave. The door suddenly opens, and my heart freezes in my chest once I see the person that just walked in elegantly, graced in a black suit. His dark aura is evident that he must be someone powerful. His raven hair is clinging to his head with some strands on his forehead, his skin is smooth like silk, and his height is just like that of models. Although he's not smiling, he still looks super hot with that frown on his face. "Greetings, alpha," The woman finally clarifies my confusion. I knew it, he must be the alpha. "Leave us, Leila," His voice sounds so deep and sexy, and I feel my heartbeat increasing rapidly now. The woman bows and walks out of the room, leaving us alone. Once it's just the two of us with the little sleeping girl in the room, he turns his gaze to me, and that is when I finally get to see his pair of green charming eyes, but I can only stare for seconds, and look away. I wouldn't like it if I get into trouble here. "What's your name?" His deep voice sends chills down my spine, and for some seconds, I lost my voice as my heart run a marathon in my chest. "Ariel, alpha," I reply to him, and it takes him another two minutes before he finally speaks up again. "Ariel..." He pauses and walks over to sit on the bed, taking the child's little hand in his, and caressing it like a caring father. This isn't the same man I've heard so many bad things about, because he shouldn't be this soft toward anyone. "Don't be dumb, Ariel. She's his daughter," My subconscious mind reminds me, and I purse my lips as I stare down at the ground. "You will stay with my baby for now, until she's fine," He says to me, and I blink my eyes in shock. Is he being serious right now?Chapter 2Alpha Kai Arriving at the office after a few minutes of driving, I walk into my office where a heap of documents is already waiting for me on my desk. It's another day to stress myself. Being the alpha of a pack is not an easy task. Now, I know the burden my father had to carry on himself before he passed away. The sound of the office telephone ringing pulls my attention from the screen of the computer, and I reach out for it. "Alpha, some people are here to see you. Should I send them in?" My secretary's feminine voice sounds through the phone. "Send them back," I reply to her coldly, and without waiting for another word from her, I drop the telephone. I don't care who those people are, I'm not in the mood to see anyone now. Staring at the tons of messages from my email, I sigh briefly. Where the hell am I supposed to start? Well, since my daughter has been sick for a couple of weeks, I had to stay back at home to take care of her for some time befor
Chapter 3Alpha Kai My phone rings as I walk down the verandah, and I roll my eyes at the caller. It's Max, and I wonder why he's calling me. "What is it, Max?" I ask coldly as soon as I answer the call. "We have something important to discuss. Let's meet," His voice sounds through the phone. "I'm not in the villa now, Max. We'll talk later," I say to him and quickly end the call. I make my way to my kids'room. It's weekend today, so I need to spend some time with them in my study. I take my time to teach them on weekends and do revision for them base on what they were taught in school. That's one of the things that make me the best father to them. Stepping into their room minutes later, I stop on my track and my heart freezes in my chest at the sight that welcomes me. Ariel is standing half-naked with just a white towel wrapping around her chest, revealing her sexy body. She had no idea I walked inside the room since she's busy searching for something in the
Chapter 4Alpha Kai The way Max blinks as he stares at me tells me that I'm in deep shit right now. He won't stop frustrating me until I talk to him about why I acted this way, and I'm not ready for that. "Uhm... I mean, you shouldn't be touching a woman like that. She... She's a woman... You should respect her," I try not to stutter, but I still end up doing it anyway. "Oh..." Max utters as he withdraws his hand from her shoulder, and I heave a silent sigh of relief. The way he looks at me doesn't look like he believed the excuse I just gave him. "Uhm... Alpha, you asked to see you," She breaks the awkward silence that assumed the air for quite some seconds now, and I gulp down nothing nervously. What should I tell her? I think I'm beginning to act foolish right now. "Yes, I did..." I pause and think of what to say to her for a few seconds. "I think it's time to change Ruby's wardrobe," I finally say, even though I know this is senseless. I mean, we just did t
Chapter 5 Alpha Kai I glance at Ariel who is sitting in the backseat of the car with my kids as they both talk sweetly. I can't deny the fact that I love the bond between them now, and I also feel happy going out with them. "Daddy, why do you suddenly want to go shopping with us?" Rubby suddenly asks the question I have been expecting, and I glance at her through the rear glass only to find her staring at me. "Is it something bad?" I ask her, and she quickly shakes her head. "No, dad, it's not. I'm happy you're coming with us," She smiles at me cutely, and I nod my head. "Daddy, but lady Leila took us shopping last week," Nathan says after a few minutes of silence, causing me to glance at him again, releasing a deep sigh. Gosh is this how chatty these kids are? "Do you not want to shop?" I ask him, and he quickly shakes his head. "No, daddy. I saw a bicycle at the mall the last time we went there, and I want one," He says in his little voice. "I wi
Chapter 6 Maximus Danielle "Why don't you talk to Philip about the contract?" I ask him, and with the look on his face, I need no one to tell me that he doesn't like the sound of that. Philip is a sixty-five years old awarded robotic engineer in the USA and the CEO of T&T Electronic company. Kai and I are going to be working on a project later, called the E-Detector project. E-Detector is a robot that detects nothing, but emotions, and also treat people who are ill. We want to build a big hospital in town, where only robots will be there to attend to both humans' and other creatures' needs. This is a strategy to add more fame and power to our pack and to make this happen, we would need the help of Philip. "I told you that I'm not interested in working with Philip. Look for someone else," He replies to me bluntly, picking up the book on the desk, and opening to a page. "Come on, Kai... We both know that there's no one else that can do this better than Philip, and tha
Chapter 7 Ariel POV I drag Amelie along the hallway, and once we walk into my room, I slam her lightly against the wall, glaring hard at her. "What the hell was that, Amelie? What were you doing with the beta?" I ask her, trying not to sound harsh on her, but why the hell would she do something like that? "Come on, Ariel... Stop making a mountain out of nothing, ok? That was just a harmless visit," She rolls her eyes as she walks past me and throws herself on my bed, while I stare at her unbelievably. "Wow! This bed is so comfortable... I think I should move in here with you soon because you can't be enjoying this luxury alone," She whines as she tosses on the bed while giggling. "I asked a question, Amelie. What was that?" I ask her again, and she sighs briefly as she sits up on the bed. "It was nothing, Ariel. I missed my way and found myself there," She shrugs sarcastically like what she did isn't a big deal. "You and I know that you didn't miss your
Chapter 8 Alpha Kai If it were to be someone else that did what Max did, he or she would've been six feet under the ground now, chilling in the underworld, but sadly, I can't bring myself to harm my best friend. "Ah!" I growl as I grab the flower vase from the desk and crash it against the wall, breaking it into pieces. I can feel my wolf struggling to take over me and destroy things, no one dare disrespects us and go scot-free, but I can't possibly let my wolf harm Max, right? "Calm down, Raul... Calm down," I whisper as I lean forward and grab the edge of the desk, clenching my fingers around it tightly as I shut my eyes, trying to control Raul. Things won't remain the same if he happens to take control of me. I may end up doing what I'm not supposed to have done. Suddenly, I feel the strong scent dominating me, and I snap my head up. I look around the room, searching for her, but it is obvious that she's not in there. Of course, I recognize the scent to belong t
Chapter 9 "Forgive me, alpha... I will wait outside," She quickly apologizes, turning to leave. "No, wait!" I say to her, and she halts abruptly, her body trembling in fear. Fuck! I hate that she's scared of me. Yes, I know this is crazy, considering how much I enjoy it when people are scared of me, how unbothered I am about people, but she? I feel so fucking different toward her. Turning to face Rosa, who has a shocked expression on her face, I signal her to leave. "But..." "Don't make me repeat myself, Rosa. Leave," I say to her, sitting on the chair. She must be thinking that I'm going crazy now. The alpha Kai everybody knows would never take something like this lightly. I would never have anyone barge into me like that, let alone see me doing some shit with a woman, that person would not live to tell the story, or maybe have his or her eyes plucked out of their sockets for the offense. "What are you still waiting for?" I snap at Rosa, and she quickly bows be
