Chapter 1
Ariel POV "What are you thinking about, Ariel?" Amelie's voice sounds behind me, and I turn to see her walking elegantly over to me, with a basket in her hand. "Nothing, I'm just checking out some things here," I reply to her, turning my attention back to the flower I was playing with. Coming to the woods every day to get leaf for herbs for mother is something fun and at the same time tiring. Just about two months ago, I woke up in this place under a roof amongst a family of two, with my head blank, not even an idea about who I am, or where I am from. All I could remember was my name. Amelie and her mom took me in, and hence, treated me like I'm a part of their family. According to what they told me, they found me lying helplessly along the river with my body bruised up, and they were nice enough to bring me home and treat me until I was fine again.Amelie and her mother, Adeline, are one of the werewolves of the Blue Crest pack, and they are known as the best healers. Living amongst the werewolves of the Blue Crest pack for the recent weeks has been difficult for me, especially trying to fit in the life here and get adapted to things, which are so strange to me. Blue Crest pack is rumored to be the most influential pack amongst other werewolf packs and is ruled by the ruthless and heartless billionaire alpha Kai, a young CEO of The Blue Crest group of company, which was said to be the Pack's business where they get their wealth from. I have only heard of him, but have never met him in person. "Let's head home already, Ariel. It's getting late," Amelie says to me as she walks past me. Rumor had it that it's always dangerous being out at this time, since the Blue Crest pack has too many enemies that are always lurking around, and waiting for opportunities to strike any member of the pack they come across. Walking down the woods a few minutes later, a lot of thoughts fill my heart, as I can't help the many questions that I have been asking myself all these while, but never got answers to any of them. Will I ever get to get back my memory? Well, that will be left to be answered by my fate. "I heard that the alpha is hosting a party at the villa later. Do you care to go with me?" Amelie suddenly asks out of the blue, as we take the final route that leads to our house. Yes, the alpha and other indigenous members of the pack lives in the villa, while the lower ranking werewolves are made to live outside the villa like commoners that they are, or we are, rather. "No, I prefer to stay at home," I reply to her, and she rolls her eyes at me. "Why?" She asks me, and I shrug. Well, since I'm still new to this place, I do not want to get into trouble here. "Nothing really," I reply to her, and she nods her head. We finally arrive home, and mother is already out to God knows where. I guess she must've gone to heal someone, just my guess, though. "You should get something to eat, Ariel. I need to go deliver some herbs to the beta. I'll be back shortly," She says to me while having a smile dancing on her lips. Well, Amelie has been fantasizing about this beta whom I know nothing about. Although they are not mates, since Amelie is just sixteen and yet to find her mate, but she's really crazy about this beta guy. "Alright. Don't get into trouble over there, and make sure you come back early," I say to her before she finally exits the house, leaving me alone for now. Taking a deep breath, I throw myself on my small bed and stare up at the ceiling as many thoughts linger in my mind. My family, are they worried about me? What do they look like? How old am I? Those are the questions I have been asking myself for the past weeks, even though I may never get answers to them. The sound of the footsteps drawing close outside pull my attention, and I quickly sit up on the bed, a bit scared. I am the only one at home, so it's only fine that I get scared, yeah? A knock finally sounds on the door and turns out that it's mother that's there. "Mother?" I call as I walk over to the door, and pull it open, revealing the woman in her mid-forties. After I woke up, she demanded that I call her mother, since that is what her daughter calls her, so I won't feel awkward later. "Has it been long since you came back home? Where is Amelie?" She asks as she turns and starts walking away, and I need no one to tell me that she wants me to come with her. "We came back a few minutes ago. Amelie said that she needs to deliver something to the beta and will be back shortly," I reply to her, and she nods her head as she throws herself on the chair in the small living room. She must be so exhausted. "Do you need me to get you some water? Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat," I ask her, but she just shakes her head in denial, and I nod my head. "Help me deliver this to the villa. The alpha's daughter is not feeling too well, but I don't think I can go there by myself," She says, pointing to the basket on the table, and I pull a puzzled look. It's not about the delivery that gets me shocked, but the fact that the alpha has a kid. I haven't heard about that yet, and besides, people said that he's just twenty-five, how come he already has a child? "Can't he have a child at his age?" My subconscious mind asks my foolish self, and I shrug mentally. "Alright, mother. I will be on my way now," Reaching for the basket, I finally stride out of the house. It's literally my first time going to the villa, and I'm so nervous right now. I don't want to get into trouble in there. Arriving at the villa after a long walk, the guards usher me in immediately I told them that I'm here for the alpha's daughter who is sick. The villa is so big just like I thought, it is evident why only royalties and other indigenous members of the pack are allowed to stay here. "You must be the healer's servant, right?" Arriving at the supposed room where the alpha's daughter is, a woman in her mid-forties that just came outside asks me, and I slowly nod my head. "Please come inside," She ushers me in, holding the door ajar for me, and I walk inside. My mouth almost drops open in shock as soon as I step into the spacious large room with a queen-sized bed in the middle of it. Taking a minute to admire the room and know what it looks like, because why not? Well, the room is designed just for the taste of little children. I wasn't expecting less. Finally walking over to the little girl that looks like she must be seven or eight years old, I place my hand on her forehead, and she's burning up inside. What could've happened to her? Since mother has taught me a few things about herb and how to administer it to people, I know that I can handle this. I take my time to administer the herb to her until she takes every drop of it as instructed by mother. I wonder why she wasn't taken to the pack hospital, since there are professional medical doctors there that can treat her. Who am I to question them? Who knows? Maybe they have their reasons. "She just needs to rest, and she'll be fine," I say to the woman, getting ready to leave. The door suddenly opens, and my heart freezes in my chest once I see the person that just walked in elegantly, graced in a black suit. His dark aura is evident that he must be someone powerful. His raven hair is clinging to his head with some strands on his forehead, his skin is smooth like silk, and his height is just like that of models. Although he's not smiling, he still looks super hot with that frown on his face. "Greetings, alpha," The woman finally clarifies my confusion. I knew it, he must be the alpha. "Leave us, Leila," His voice sounds so deep and sexy, and I feel my heartbeat increasing rapidly now. The woman bows and walks out of the room, leaving us alone. Once it's just the two of us with the little sleeping girl in the room, he turns his gaze to me, and that is when I finally get to see his pair of green charming eyes, but I can only stare for seconds, and look away. I wouldn't like it if I get into trouble here. "What's your name?" His deep voice sends chills down my spine, and for some seconds, I lost my voice as my heart run a marathon in my chest. "Ariel, alpha," I reply to him, and it takes him another two minutes before he finally speaks up again. "Ariel..." He pauses and walks over to sit on the bed, taking the child's little hand in his, and caressing it like a caring father. This isn't the same man I've heard so many bad things about, because he shouldn't be this soft toward anyone. "Don't be dumb, Ariel. She's his daughter," My subconscious mind reminds me, and I purse my lips as I stare down at the ground. "You will stay with my baby for now, until she's fine," He says to me, and I blink my eyes in shock. Is he being serious right now?Chapter 155 Epilogue After Alpha Kai realized that it was all a nightmare, he couldn't help the excitement that filled his heart, knowing that he didn't lose any of his kids and his best friend. Three months later, Alpha Kai finally mated Ariel as his forever, and they hosted a mating ceremony where other werewolves of different Packs came to celebrate with them. Four months later... Ariel was in the room and watching a movie when she suddenly felt a sting in her lower abdomen, and she winced painfully as she squeezed her face. "What is wrong with me?" She mumbled as she sat back on the couch and sighed briefly before she continued to watch her movie. As minutes went by, she felt the pain growing slightly severe until she couldn't hold it anymore and screamed when she felt something break inside her and her eyes widened when she saw the trail of fluid that trailed down her legs. As she managed to stand up to her feet, holding her big round tummy, she ma
Chapter 154 At the hospital "I'm sorry, Miss. But we couldn't save him," Amelie's heart sinks into her stomach as the doctor breaks the news to her, and she staggers back. Her heartbeat stops for the next few seconds and her mouth hangs open in shock. She tries to comprehend what the doctor just said to her, but it doesn't seem to sink well into her head, so it's quite confusing and hard to understand. "What...what did you say?" She finally asks the doctor once she is able to gather her strength together. "You should be calm," The doctor pats her shoulder before he pulls the blue satin cloth to cover his face. Her world seems to be crumbling down before her very eyes. Her body trembles as she slowly takes her hand to her stomach. "No... This is not true... This can't be true. Max is not dead," She slowly shakes her head while muttering those words to herself because this whole thing doesn't make any sense to her. How could the doctor even tell her that her mat
Chapter 153 Kai drags his feet toward the prison where Rosa was now kept. The last twenty-four hours have been filled with him running around and trying to get the solution he had promised Ariel, but all efforts have proven abortive and he was on the verge of losing his mind. Who would've ever thought that an Alpha would become like this? Who would ever think that Kai would one day be caught in this mess without any way out for him? Once he stops in front of the prison, his blood boils in rage as he spots her on her knees. How could she be this heartless to have stolen his happiness? He asks himself before he signals the guard to open the gate for him, which was opened immediately. He takes another deep breath before he finally walks in, and when she notices his presence, she slowly raises her gaze to look at him. She has a smirk dancing on her lips, a satisfactory look on which only means that she is enjoying every bit of what she is doing to him. "Why are you here? To pl
Chapter 152 As Ariel waits in front of the prison gate and awaits Rosa, she can't help the nervousness that keeps trying to eat her up. After she heard about what happened, she has come to see her, not to confront her, but to plead with her to please give out the antidote so Nathan could live. The little boy has been going through pain even though he has been in coma for days now, and he is getting weaker each day that passes by. It hurts to see the boy she loves so much being in pain, and it hurts to see the Alpha wallowing in pain, but then, they can't use force on Rosa if they don't want the boy to die. The sound of the chains rattling inside the prison alerts her that she has been taken out of the dungeon. She takes a deep breath before she walks into the prison after the guard opens the door for her. Rosa is on her knees and tied down with an ordinary chain. "Why are you here? To yell at me and tell me how disgusting I am? Are you here to command me to hand over the
Chapter 152 Alpha Kai POV Tears brim in my eyes as I drive home crazily. Nathan and Ariel are in the backseat. He is still unconscious. 'I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do about this. You have to take him out of the hospital' As the doctor's words replay in my head, I sniff back the tears that threaten to leave my eyes. Now is not the time to cry. I really need to get the antidote now and save my boy. I have already lost his sister, and I can't lose him too. As I drive on the roadway, I suddenly march on the brake, bringing the car to an abrupt halt. I almost ran into a car, but it's a good thing that I was fast enough to stop the car before the horrible thing happened. "Careful," Ariel mutters, and I nod my head. Many thoughts run through my mind and I keep asking myself who would've done this to my son. I was thinking that the person that did it was Rhea, but I guess I wasn't in the right state of mind. I shouldn't have left them alone. I should've s
Chapter 151 Three days laterThe last few days have been rough for Kai and every other person in the Pack. Having his best friend in coma, his son hospitalized with the doctors doing everything they could so they save the little boy, and trying to be fine even though nothing seemed to be working in his favor. Ruby has been cremated already. "You haven't had anything since three days now. Can you eat something, please?" Ariel asks him sadly. He was standing on the balcony of the hospital and staring up at the sky while in tears. He has always thought he was strong, but with everything that has happened to him in the space of five days, it now occurred to him that he is nothing strong. "I'm not hungry," He replied to her flatly, and she sighs briefly. "What should I do? Is Nathan going to die too? Is Max going to leave me too as Ruby did?" He asks her as he stares into space, more tears streaming down his cheeks. "Shhhh! Everything is going to be fine. I promise you,
Chapter 150 Alpha Kai POV I'm still having a bad feeling about this even though Amelie told me yesterday that they are fine. I still have this feeling that something is not right, and I can't help but get nervous. Losing my baby is the last thing I want. I will lose my mind if such a thing happens. "Amelie said that they are fine. You don't have to be worried," Ariel assures me as the driver drives us to the airport. We woke up early this morning and got dressed before we left the hotel. "Hmm," I nod my head, but that still didn't stop me from being worried or nervous, rather. If only I can appear in Europe right now, I would be so glad. "You'll be fine," She utters as she clasps her fingers with mine, and I slowly nod my head. Sadly, we couldn't make our vacation a memorable one, but I'm going to make it up to her some other time. The only thing on my mind right now is my kids. We finally arrive at the airport, and the flight takes off about thirty minutes la
Chapter 149 Amelie POV I pace restlessly along the hallway. Leila and Rosa are also here with me. Max and Ruby had just been rolled into the ER, and I'm so scared. Max was brutally injured, and Ruby... I don't even want to think about what will happen to him, because it's scary to imagine it. I just pray they survive this. "Don't you think you should call the Alpha or Ariel?" Madam Leila asks me, and I stop pacing. I haven't thought about that because I'm not in my right state of mind. I don't know if I will be able to hold on to my phone later. I don't know if I will be able to talk, because my body is trembling. "You...you should call him," I reply to her, and she finally walks away. "They are going to be fine. You should sit, please. It's not good for the baby," I hear Rosa's voice, and I raise my gaze to find her standing beside me. If I can gather the memories together, Rosa and Max haven't been on good terms, she never liked the kids, so I wonder why she save
Chapter 148 Rhea POV I think now is the time for me to carry out the plan I have. I know Kai won't spare me after this, but I don't mind. If I'm going to die, then it would have to be with someone precious to him. I have to hurt him in a way that will break him for as long as he is alive. Since I still have my wolf power within me, I summon her and in no time, I was able to break from the chain, since it isn't a silver chain that could hurt me. Although I don't have power as a witch anymore, I trained and was very good at combat. I was able to take down the guard in front of the prison. I manage to find my way to the kids' room, and there they are. They are both sleeping peacefully with their nanny, I think Leila is her name. They are all sleeping peacefully, and I scoff when I see them. Now that I recall everything that little witch said to me, makes my heart is clouded with hatred for her. She never considered me as her mother, she never looked at me, she always cursed m
